As evening fell, the entire Black Forest was silent and still. The gentle breeze had died down, leaving only the gurgling stream echoing through the trees.
A massive black boar suddenly emerged from nowhere. Standing three meters tall and over five meters long, it shook dirt from its matted fur. It let out tentative snorts, its small black eyes gleaming fiercely. Four huge tusks curved upward, and steel-like black bristles covered its body.
The giant boar stretched its muscular frame like it was yawning. It lowered its head, aimed its tusks at an ancient tree over two meters thick, and charged. A deafening crash echoed, followed by a sharp crack—the tree snapped cleanly in half.
Satisfied, the boar grunted softly. It shook dust from its head, strode to the stream, and lowered its snout to drink.
Just then, a voice cried out:
"Death Siphon!"
The boar shuddered violently as if electrocuted. Its mouth gaped silently while blood surged from its nose, eyes, ears, and mouth. The blood coalesced into a crimson sphere, floating and spinning in midair.
"Wow, Brother, you're amazing!" Little A Luo dashed from the bushes, hopping excitedly around the corpse. Kuber followed, clapped his hands, and the blood ball instantly dispersed, splattering the ground.
This "Death Siphon" spell was Kuber’s perfected hunting magic—silent kills and full blood drainage, skipping the messy pre-cooking bleed-out.
Kuber waved his hand; a wind blade sliced off the boar’s thigh. He stored the rest in his dimensional space, then pulled out dry firewood. With a snap, flames roared to life.
He skinned the leg, coated it with Alpha City’s secret barbecue sauce and spices, and set it roasting over the fire. His movements flowed smoothly—days in the wild had turned him into a skilled chef.
Fat dripped onto the flames, sparks crackling. Kuber and A Luo sat patiently by the fire. Little A Luo drooled heavily, her eyes wide.
Soon, the leg turned golden and crispy outside, tender within, filling the air with a mouthwatering aroma.
"Brother, is it ready? Is it ready?" A Luo’s face was eager, drool streaming like a waterfall. Kuber sliced a piece, popped it in his mouth—
Wow! Awesome! Delicious! The flavor nearly made him swallow his tongue. He nodded, about to share a bite—
The ground suddenly shook violently!
A thunderous roar erupted. A colossal tower burst from the earth before Kuber, shooting skyward like fast-growing bamboo. It soared higher and higher. After three seconds, its growth slowed and stopped. Kuber’s roast had long been flung away by the emerging structure.
"Waaah! My roast is gone!" A Luo wailed, bursting into tears.
Kuber stared blankly at the tower, murmuring,
"What? Is this a newly born Labyrinth?"
