“You humans are so despicable! Just wait until you’re tired and worn out—I’ll make you my meal!” She stared in terror at the Magic Missiles drawing closer, trying to attack and stop them. But Fiona had gone completely berserk. She wouldn’t stop until she killed her.

Fighting back was out of the question. She could only take the hits.

Then, before her eyes, the feeble attack—carrying a pulse that made her heart seize—struck her body.

A vortex swept over her. Stark hadn’t actually suffered any real damage, but she had noticed...

The divine skill hidden inside her body—the power that had kept her alive all this time, the supreme gift bestowed upon her by a god—was slowly fading, on the verge of disappearing entirely.

“What have you done to me?! It’s impossible! This can’t be happening!”

Stark roared. Ever since the Magic Missiles hit her, her body had stopped recovering from the Blood Prison’s attacks. Sword wounds appeared across her skin, blood began to seep out, and soon she was covered in it.

The branch chief, the middle-aged man who’d been watching from the sidelines for a long while, narrowed his eyes.

The monster wasn’t going to recover anymore? She was already taking injuries! And her movements were growing sluggish at an even faster rate. The more wounds Blood Prison inflicted, the more powerfully it restricted its target!

“Damn monster! Take another hit from my axe!” The middle-aged branch chief had already gotten his swagger back. Now he shook off his slump once more, pouring his tremendous strength into the swing and channeling magic power into it as well. He let out a roar.

The horizontal tornado appeared again, charging toward the restrained humanoid monster with unstoppable force.

The storm tore through everything. The monster, whose life had been steadily whittled away by Fiona’s Blood Prison, took another devastating blow from the axe. A huge gash was cleaved straight through the middle of her body.

But the branch chief was far below her in level, and the damage he dealt was nowhere near as great as Fiona’s.

The branch chief’s charged strike dealt about as much damage as Blood Prison inflicted in three seconds. Fiona, meanwhile, had kept Blood Prison going for nearly a full minute. The monster’s magic power continued to drain, and her screams grew quieter and quieter.

At last, the final sword fell. The humanoid monster Stark’s body shattered into countless pieces, cut completely to ribbons within the sword net of [Blood Prison]. Her blood spilled across the ground.

As Ye Su lay unconscious at the inn, a notification window appeared before him.

Outside, a roar of cheers rose into the sky. The city’s residents were celebrating the monster’s defeat!

Every adventurer had become a hero who’d saved the city. Amid the cheers, the blood-red light in Fiona’s eyes faded after she killed Stark. [Weeping Blood] only wore off once she’d slain her opponent. A wave of pain immediately filled her body, each ache as sharp as if the limb in question had been severed. It was the aftereffect of forcibly drawing on her body’s potential. She’d probably need ten days to half a month to recover.

......

Two days later — the medical room at the guild

Ye Su sat beside the hospital bed, peeling an apple with a small knife. Once it was peeled, he slowly brought it to Fiona’s lips and fed it to her.

Now Fiona was no longer the terrifying brute who’d fought the monster. She was even as docile as a child.
