Liang Sheng’s Yet Another Ordeal

On her way to buy mooncakes, she unexpectedly ran into the yandere.

What a cliché twist of fate.

“Sheng-chan~ What a coincidence~” Hana flashed Liang Sheng a sweet smile, cute little fangs peeking out.

Coincidence? Yeah, right. Anyone could see it was the tracker’s fault again.

“How’d you escape the psych ward *again*?” Liang Sheng asked, rubbing her temples.

Hana pouted pitifully. “Mmm~ I just missed Sheng-chan so much…”

Helpless and soft-hearted as ever, Liang Sheng took her hand. “Come on. I’ll buy you mooncakes. Then straight back to the psych ward, okay?”

Hana nodded happily, tightening her grip.

Shelves overflowed with mooncakes of every filling. Smiles lit faces; cheerful holiday greetings filled the air.

Liang Sheng disliked the noise—but loved the warmth of the crowd.

“Boss! Ten red bean paste mooncakes!” Liang Sheng called, sweat beading on her brow. Her mouth said *ten*, fingers flashed *two*.

“Sheng-chan! Lotus seed paste ones, please!” Hana chirped, tugging her hand, eyes sparkling with hope.

Of course Liang Sheng caved. She bought five without hesitation.

“Mmm~” Hana munched happily, holding Liang Sheng’s hand. “Everything from Sheng-chan is wonderful. So delicious!”

*Sigh*. Sweet words… too bad she’s a yandere.

By 9 a.m., the crowd thickened.

Liang Sheng guided Hana to plastic chairs. Seeing her choke slightly, she bought a drink.

Hana leaned against her shoulder, savoring every bite.

“I wish I could leave the psych ward soon… and spend every day like this with Sheng-chan~” Hana murmured wistfully.

Liang Sheng ruffled her hair. “Listen to me, and you will.”

Hana beamed. “Mhm! I’ll do anything Sheng-chan says… as long as you never leave me.”

A quiet threat. Liang Sheng shivered. *No escaping her. What’s my future gonna be?*

“Done eating, Hana?”

Hana shook her head. “No~ Stay with me longer! The psych ward’s so cold… full of weird, scary people.”

*Are they scarier than you?* Liang Sheng swallowed the thought. No tempting fate today.

“Alright, let’s go play,” she said, taking Hana’s hand—just to escort this walking disaster away. *Why am I such a coward? So weak? Why did my big mouth attract a yandere?*

At the arcade—Hana’s first time—she gazed around, wide-eyed.

“Sheng-chan! Play the dance machine with me?” She pointed, stars practically bursting from her eyes.

“Okay, okay, okay.” Liang Sheng felt a sudden mom-energy.

Despite Hana’s combat prowess, she lost five rounds straight.

“Sheng-chan’s so amazing~!” Hana gazed up, pure adoration glowing.

Praise went straight to Liang Sheng’s head. Hands on hips, she grinned. “Obviously! I, Liang Sheng, am *super* good at games!” Shameless? Absolutely.

Hana just smiled softly. *As long as Sheng-chan’s happy.*

“What else? I’ll play with you,” Liang Sheng offered kindly.

Hana pointed at the claw machine.

Twentieth coin. Sweat dripped. “Damn it! I’m smashing this thing!”

“Don’t be mad, Sheng-chan,” Hana murmured, eyes locked on the machine. “Let me handle it.”

“WAIT WAIT WAIT!” Liang Sheng yanked her back. “Kidding! Totally kidding!”

*She actually believed me…*

“I’ll try again… just once more…”

After eighty-nine coins sacrificed, the stubborn machine finally relented. No more slips—a light pink bunny plushie tumbled out.

“Here. For you.” Liang Sheng scratched her neck, handing it over.

Hana’s cheeks flushed crimson. “Sheng-chan… is this our token of love?”

Liang Sheng: “…What?”

*Plush bunny → lifelong commitment? Nope nope nope.*

“Sheng-chan~ One last request~” Hana looked down (yes, Liang Sheng was three centimeters shorter).

“What?” A cold dread crept in.

Hana crouched, gazing up with narrowed eyes and crimson lips. Slowly, deliberately: “Please… give me a kiss before we part.”

Refuse? Too risky. Agree? *Is this selling my soul?*

“Sheng-chan…” Tears welled in Hana’s big eyes, trembling on the edge.

“Sheng-chan, my love is real! The tracker… that’s how I show it!” Hana declared earnestly.

Liang Sheng: “…Thank you. But I don’t need that kind of love.”

Watching Hana sob, Liang Sheng sighed. Leaned down. Planted a light, fleeting kiss on her head.

“Enough? My dear Hana?” she asked gently.

Hana sprang up, hugging her tight. “I love you most, *most* of all, Sheng-chan! Forever and ever!”

Once, Liang Sheng would’ve frozen in fear. Now… warmth bloomed in her chest. She patted Hana’s back. A soft “Mm.”

“Behave in the psych ward. Watch for couples strolling by. Always carry *that thing*,” Liang Sheng fussed like a worried mom.

Hana hugged her again. “I know, Sheng-chan~ I’ll love you forever and ever!”
