Valentine's Day Special

What should she do for Valentine’s Day? Song An’an stood at the kitchen doorway, a faint headache brewing.

Today was Valentine’s Day—of course she should cook something delicious for Liang Sheng.

Just imagining Sheng savoring her food with genuine delight sent a warm rush of energy through her.

“When in doubt, ask Baidu.” She pulled out her phone and typed: *What gift should I give the girl I like on Valentine’s Day?*

Typing “the girl I like,” she hesitated, deleting it shyly a few times before finally hitting send, cheeks flushed.

Most results were useless. One guy suggested hiding a condom inside a bouquet of 99 roses. Paying for a one-night stand?

*Give a gift, get passion?* She wouldn’t mind trying that with Sheng… Ugh! So embarrassing! Song An’an quickly scrolled past.

After flipping through pages, she finally found a solid idea—something she could make herself: chocolate.

Eyes sparkling, she tied on an apron, ready to shine.

The chocolates were soon done. She placed them in a delicate gift box, tied a pink ribbon around it, and cradled it to her chest.

*Sheng loves food, and my cooking’s pretty good too. She’ll totally love these~*

Song An’an tried to suppress a smile, but her lips betrayed her, curling upward like they wanted to soar beside the sun.

At Liang Sheng’s door, she froze—Lu Ziqing was already there, pressing the doorbell.

*What?! Stealing my moment?!* Song An’an shot her a wary glance.

Lu Ziqing had come to deliver a gift too. The moment she rang the bell, a pink-haired, short-haired girl rushed over—Song An’an.

Our young miss’s mood instantly soured.

“Hey. What are *you* doing here?” Lu Ziqing struck first, chin tilted down haughtily at the shorter girl.

Song An’an cursed her height but stood on tiptoe, glaring back. “I—I came to bring Liang Sheng something tasty. Problem?”

Lu Ziqing’s eyes narrowed. *Coincidence?* “What’d you bring?” She shot a suspicious glance at the box in Song An’an’s arms.

Song An’an hugged it tighter with a huff. “Hmph! Why should I tell *you*? You go first—*maybe* I’ll consider it.”

“You…!” How dare she?!

Just as tension crackled between them, the door opened.

Liang Sheng blinked. *Two people? A Valentine’s Day tour group to my house?*

*Oh no. These two troublemakers together? Today’s gonna be chaos.*

“Ahem—*you two*…” She cleared her throat. “Coming in? Or saying something quick… then scram—I mean, *heading home*?”

“Coming in!” they chorused.

A dark vein throbbed on Liang Sheng’s forehead. *Of course they agree on this.*

“…Fine. Come in.” She swallowed her sigh and stepped aside.

Inside, Lu Ziqing plopped onto Liang Sheng’s bed without asking, unzipped her bag, and pulled out a gift.

“Here. For you, Liang Sheng.” Her voice softened with every word. “Since you’re… single and pitiful—with no one giving you chocolates—I *pitied* you. No thanks needed! I mean… you’re kinda my friend, right?” By the end, she was nearly whispering, ears pink.

*Pitiful?!* Liang Sheng nearly snapped.

Gu Yuqi had rushed over that morning with a teddy bear taller than her. Hua Nai mailed a fancy necklace from out of town. Mo Qingrou gave her a red thread charm: *“Tie it to your crush’s wrist—they’ll fall for you.”*

At noon, Liang Jin showed up unannounced with bags of snacks, cooing “older sister” endlessly. Plus random seniors, juniors—gifts piling up. She didn’t even know how they found her address.

*Turns out I’ve got quite the charm,* she mused dryly.

Spotting Lu Ziqing’s chocolates, Song An’an panicked and thrust forward her box. “Sheng! These are *homemade*—safer, healthier!”

Liang Sheng accepted both with a strained smile, bracing to mediate—

“What *is* this? So cheap!” Lu Ziqing stood tall, sneering. “Do you know how much *mine* cost? Yours? Hah! Think they taste better?”

“They *are* delicious! Sheng loves my cooking, right? *Right*, Sheng?” Song An’an shot back.

“Liang Sheng,” Lu Ziqing pressed, voice sharp. “Has *anything* I’ve given you ever been less than perfect? Hm?”

Two pairs of eyes locked onto her.

*Here we go again…* Liang Sheng pinched the bridge of her nose, utterly defeated.
