“Where’s the hot girl? How come I didn’t see her?”

Xiaofeng looked at the people coming and going at the entrance of Tianjingshui Park and asked Li Wei in confusion.

“See that car? That’s the car of the beauty I told you about. Pretty badass, right? A stretched Lincoln. You saw those two men in suits just now, didn’t you?”

Xiaofeng nodded after hearing that.

“Those are probably her bodyguards. Judging by this setup, she’s gotta be rich-rich. If I ever get a chance to chat with her, I’m absolutely living off a rich woman!”

As he said that, Li Wei even put on a dreamy, longing expression. Xiaofeng looked at him with pure disgust.

“Your family’s not even short on money, and you still want to mooch off a woman? Can you have a little ambition?” Xiaofeng said disdainfully.

“Son, you just don’t get it. My family having money is one thing, but that’s different. A scumbag has to be ambitious. You go for the hottest girls and spend money in the easiest way possible. That’s the highest realm of being a pretty boy.”

Xiaofeng was speechless at Li Wei’s twisted logic. What the hell was wrong with this guy?

“With you? You’d be lucky if those two bodyguards didn’t break your third leg before you even got close to that rich lady.”

Li Wei ignored him. Instead, he looked in one direction and waved at Xiaofeng.

“Quick, quick, look over there. There’s a beauty in gothic lolita clothes. She looks pretty good!”

“Where? Where?”

“Up ahead. Next to that black car, see her?”

“I see her, I see her. Yo, yeah, this one really does have the vibe.”

“Right? Right? Told you Tianjingshui Park has lots of beauties, didn’t I?”

Xiaofeng kept nodding as he stared at the girl in gothic lolita. He couldn’t even bear to look away.

Alright, these two might have different personalities, but when it came to checking out pretty girls, they really were birds of a feather. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have gotten along this well.

And so, Tianjingshui Park ended up with two hooligans pretending to admire the scenery while actually sizing up every pretty girl passing by. What’s more, these two hooligans even shared intel. And honestly, after a whole morning of this, Xiaofeng and Li Wei really had seen quite a few different kinds of beauties.

The mature married type, the loli type, cosplayers, nurses, secretaries, white-collar women, flight attendants, and so on. The two of them were so busy looking that they almost forgot how scorching the summer heat was.

Around noon—

Li Wei and Xiaofeng sat under a tree in the park to rest. Li Wei said, “Son, I’m going to eat with my current girlfriend. You coming?”

After hearing that, Xiaofeng waved him off and laughed as he cursed, “Get lost, you bastard. I’m not going. I’ll just grab something outside and head home. I’m not trying to be a third wheel.”

Li Wei laughed. “Fine, don’t come then. I’m off. Tomorrow we’re hitting the internet café and queueing up. You better come. If you don’t, you’re my son!”

“Fuck off already. Hurry up and get the hell outta here!”

Xiaofeng laughed and cursed back.

From middle school until now, whenever Xiaofeng and Li Wei hung out, they were always roasting each other nonstop. If they didn’t, it just felt wrong. That was what happened when two people were close enough to be brothers in misery. If they were just ordinary friends, neither of them would act this freely with the other.

After all, there were countless so-called friends, but true ones were rare. Xiaofeng and Li Wei were exactly that kind of rare. They both treasured their friendship deeply. Once college started, they might not even be together anymore. A friendship without family pressure or the weight of society really was something precious.

Watching Li Wei leave, Xiaofeng also got up and headed in the opposite direction, toward a shop inside the park. In this blazing summer heat, the right move was obviously to buy an ice cream and cool off.

Just as Xiaofeng took out his phone to check the time, something soft suddenly bumped into his chest, nearly knocking his phone out of his hand.

“Whoa—jeez, that scared me!”

As soon as he spoke, Xiaofeng looked down in confusion at whatever had run into him. The moment he saw it, he was instantly stunned.

Because what he saw was a beautiful loli girl, about one and a half meters tall, wearing a white dress, white stockings, and a sunhat, with silver hair that fell all the way to her waist.

At that moment, the girl was also looking at him in panic with a pair of bright, watery eyes. Her cherry-like lips were lightly bitten by her snow-white teeth, making anyone who saw her feel protective.

“U-um, little sis, what’s wrong? Did big brother bump into you and hurt you? Sorry, sorry!”

Looking at the panic in her eyes, Xiaofeng felt like she hadn’t actually been the one hit by him, but he still couldn’t help apologizing first.

After hearing Xiaofeng’s words, Situ Changxi seemed to realize that she had been the one who ran into someone. With a trace of apology in her tone, but also a hint of coldness, she said, “I’m very sorry. I bumped into you.”

After saying that, she gave Xiaofeng a slight bow to show her apology.

Hearing Situ Changxi’s cold yet incredibly pleasant voice, and seeing her bow, Xiaofeng felt like his whole soul had been healed. When he came back to himself, he hurriedly waved his hands and smiled awkwardly.

“It’s fine, it’s fine. You looked all flustered. Were you looking for someone or something? Just be a little more careful next time.”

When Situ Changxi heard the faintly child-coaxing tone in Xiaofeng’s voice, the panic on her face instantly turned serious. Sounding a little displeased, she said, “I’m not a child. I’m already eighteen this year.”

Xiaofeng heard that calm tone of hers, but her whole presence was completely different now. His heart jumped at once. The next moment, he forced an awkward smile and said, “Sorry about that. My name’s Xiaofeng. I’m really sorry.”

Even though Xiaofeng reacted quickly on the outside, he was still shocked inside.

What the hell? Doesn’t she look exactly like a kid? How is she the same age as me? Has the world really gone this far? A thirty-year-old married woman dressing up as a loli? That’s terrifying!

Alright, Situ Changxi wasn’t thirty, but at this age and still this height, if she dressed up as a student loli at thirty, nobody would be able to tell. And while Xiaofeng couldn’t tell what brand her clothes were, one look was enough to know she was definitely a rich loli.

As the saying went, nine out of ten lolis were rich, and the last one lived in a villa. The only question was just how rich this one was.

Of course, Situ Changxi had no idea what Xiaofeng was thinking. She simply raised a hand and wiped the fragrant sweat sliding down her fair little face, then said to him flatly, “Sorry. I was the one who bumped into you first. How about I buy you an ice cream?”
