After hearing Situ Changxi’s words, Xiao Feng chuckled awkwardly. “Hahaha, it’s fine! My fault for staring at my phone. No need to treat me to ice cream.”

Situ Changxi’s beautiful eyes slightly furrowed—her first attempt to invite a guy, and he refused? In her melodious yet cool-toned voice, she insisted, “I’m treating you. Don’t be shy.” Without waiting, she grabbed the still-stunned Xiao Feng’s hand and strode toward a nearby store, utterly ignoring his consent.

Xiao Feng felt her snow-white, slightly cool little hand holding his. An indescribable warmth flickered in his chest—strangely pleasant.

Then reality hit. *Man, I don’t even know this rich loli’s name! Total strangers—how’s she just dragging me around?!*

“Hey, stop pulling me!” he protested. “This tugging isn’t proper! Yeah, you’re pretty, but you can’t just haul a guy off like this!”

Situ Changxi, walking ahead while holding his larger hand, suddenly froze. *Wait—I’m holding a guy’s hand?!* She snatched her hand back instantly. A faint blush tinged her cheeks, barely visible in the afternoon heat.

Still flustered but lifting her chin with a hint of displeasure, she said, “My name isn’t ‘Hey.’ It’s Situ Changxi.”

Xiao Feng blinked, then grinned. “Wow, a four-character name? Rare! Situ’s such an ancient, prestigious surname. And ‘Changxi’—so poetic. ‘Chang’ like Chang’e’s peerless beauty; ‘Xi’ like the morning sun’s vibrant energy!”

“You’ve got Chang’e’s elegance right now… maybe less morning-sun pep. But your beauty totally covers that tiny gap.”

Situ Changxi’s face flushed. Her heart fluttered like a startled fawn. No boy had ever spoken to her like this—praised her so openly. Back home, few dared approach her. Friends? Almost none.

Xiao Feng instantly regretted his words. *Too much. Could sound creepy.* He gave an awkward chuckle to ease the tension, completely missing the flustered shift in her expression.

Situ Changxi avoided his gaze. They entered the store in silence.

She hurried straight to the ice cream freezer—almost hiding behind it. After a moment, she grabbed a boxed tub, walked to Xiao Feng by the door, and thrust it toward him.

“Here.”

She turned to leave without hesitation. Startled, Xiao Feng instinctively caught her jade-smooth arm. “You’re just… walking off?”

Her ice cream-holding hand trembled. She blinked up at him, her lovely face silently screaming, *Problem?*

Xiao Feng nearly choked. *Is she stiffing me on ice cream?! And acting this innocent?!*

The shopkeeper finally snapped. “Hey, lovebirds! Buying that ice cream or what? Put it back if not—melts, you pay anyway!”

Xiao Feng, realizing the misunderstanding, pulled out his phone with an embarrassed smile. “Sorry! Scan my WeChat.”

He knew it was a mix-up. But Situ Changxi—rarely around men outside her family—froze solid. *“Lovebirds”…?* The words looped in her mind. She didn’t even notice him paying or leading her out.

Only when they sat beneath a park tree did she snap back. Her ears burned crimson. Xiao Feng stared, utterly confused.

*Xiao Feng’s inner monologue: A whole string of expletives hovered on his tongue. Rich loli’s got cash—why stiff me on ice cream?! Ugh, worst luck lately.*

Unaware of his thoughts, Situ Changxi peeked at his face—not classically handsome, but oddly endearing the longer she looked. Her heart hammered. She quickly looked away, flustered.

Noticing her stolen glances, Xiao Feng added bluntly, “Don’t worry. My treat this time. You can return the favor next time.”

*Inside his head: Don’t think your sooo cute, sooo pretty face lets you freeload off Xiao Feng’s ice cream. Ain’t happening again.*

Situ Changxi, hearing only his kindness, blushed deeper. Eyes shimmering with apology, she murmured, “I’m sorry… I forgot they got lost.”
