Chapter 4: My Chest Has Vanished!
update icon Updated at 2025/12/10 17:30:58

My head hurts. That was the first sensation the girl felt upon waking.

She stared at the unfamiliar bedroom—strewn with trash, bento boxes, clothes, panties, a game console, adult manga, tissues…

What even is this place?

Sitting up, she immediately sensed something was off. She touched her chest—two cup sizes smaller…

“My breasts…”

Shock didn’t begin to describe her feelings. It felt like the apocalypse.

Her gaze shifted to a full-length mirror. Her expression twisted further.

Jet-black hair spilled past her shoulder blades, wildly unkempt. *Probably hasn’t been brushed in days*, she thought.

Her sea-blue eyes held an almost hypnotic pull. Porcelain skin seemed ready to bruise at a touch. Most dangerously, she wore only an oversized T-shirt—like borrowing a boyfriend’s—barely covering her backside. Any guy seeing this would faint on the spot.

Her own face flushed crimson. She touched her cheek; the girl in the mirror mirrored her.

“Who *are* you?!” she shrieked, jabbing a finger at the reflection.

“Why am I a black-haired beauty now?!”

Why was she smaller?!

Shorter?!

Glancing down at her T-shirt-clad body, a dreadful thought struck her. She lifted the hem, reaching between her thighs…

“Phew. At least I’m wearing panties.”

She patted her chest, relieved.

Spotting the dog-eared adult manga on the floor, she flipped through a few pages. Her face burned scarlet.

“Is it weird for a girl to collect this stuff…?”

She turned another page, staring at the busty woman inside. Shamefully… she snapped it shut.

*Clearly, my training is lacking.*

She sighed. The room reeked of neglect. *How can anyone live like this?*

*Who even owns this place?*

It looked like a boy’s dump.

She glanced out the window—and froze like she’d seen a ghost.

Even through the glass, she saw cars on the street, crowds of office workers, and open street stalls.

“This isn’t my world.”

Her world had none of this. Her mother’s old tales whispered of another realm beyond their continent.

Long ago, demons threatened the land. Royalty summoned a Hero from another world to slay the Dark Lord. Peace returned when the Hero went home.

Lunette Orpheus had heard that story countless times as a child. She’d dismissed it as fairytales. With no demon invasions now, the Dark Lord was just a legend.

Besides, constant warfare between nations left no time for mythical heroes.

Lunette Orpheus—Chief Student at Rockefeller Academy, Miralstin Empire’s prodigy knight, hailed as the empire’s genius of the century—now found herself trapped in this filthy, garbage-strewn room.

She sighed, then spotted a small booklet on the desk. Picking it up, she frowned at the unfamiliar script.

“A student ID?”

Though she’d never seen these characters, understanding flooded her—knowledge left by this body’s owner.

The photo showed a black-haired boy with sea-blue eyes identical to hers.

“Manatsu Mio?”

Her eyes dropped to a jarring line:

*Gender: Male…*

A cold wind seemed to blow through the room. The world drained of color.

“AHHHHHHHH!!!”

She’d been less shattered discovering she was in another world.

*Male?! What kind of joke is this?!*

She compared the ID photo to her reflection. Aside from the hair, the boy and the girl were identical.

*Unless…*

Dread coiling in her stomach, she checked between her legs again.

“Phew. Still a girl.”

She’d braced for something terrifying. But why did the ID say *male*?

Her eyes flicked to the desk clock. The hour hand pointed squarely at 10.

“This little thing looks like the academy chapel’s big clock…”

Realizing how late it was, she decided to brush her teeth.

After the strange “flushing” sound in the bathroom, she emerged exhausted. *What was that white thing? Why did water gush out? Some kind of magic tool?*

“Stomach… growling…”

She wanted to cry. She hadn’t eaten since waking. This body’s owner lived alone—no one to help.

Normally, she’d ask Caina. But now? Utterly lost.

She scoured the bedroom. No food. She almost summoned a fireball in frustration.

Finally, she found a bowl-like container. Examining it, she read the label:

*Add hot water… 3 minutes?*

Food ready that fast?

Skeptical but starving, she followed the instructions for the “instant noodles.”

Fumbling with the hot water tap took ages. When steam finally hissed out, she knew it was ready.

*At least boiling water in a kettle was familiar.*

“Three… two… one… Time’s up!”

The moment three minutes passed, she grabbed chopsticks and slurped the noodles noisily.

“So good! Absolutely divine!”

Tears of gratitude welled in her eyes.

*Hunger really is terrifying.*

She drained the broth too, silently thanking the heavens.

Boredom struck next. She rummaged through drawers, teaching herself to use a small black device.

(It was just a PSP, but she mastered it through trial and error.) Her eyes sparkled as she lost herself in the game.

Soon, the clock hit 4:30 PM.

*Ding-dong~*

The doorbell jolted her. After several rings, she paused her game and opened the door.

A stranger stood there—a girl with a single ponytail, radiating exasperation.

“Mio, you skipped school again? Not even an excuse? Trying to disappear?”

Lunette shrank back, guiltily. *I don’t even know her!*

“Ugh. Your place is a trash heap. It reeks. How do you sleep here?”

The girl pinched her nose, disgusted.

*Oh no. I forgot to clean.*

*Or… got too absorbed in gaming.* No wonder the smell clung to her nose.

“You little brat! Playing games at home instead of school? How dare you!”

Yuki Shiki snatched the unfinished PSP, her glare scorching. Lunette froze under her aura.

“I’m confiscating this.”

Yuki stuffed the PSP into her bag.

“Wait! My kingdom…” Lunette yelped as her game vanished.

“Hah? You want it back?”

One sharp glare silenced her.

“Seriously, clean this place. It’s filthy.” Yuki covered her nose again.

“Sorry. I’ll tidy up now.”

Though not her mess, the stench was unbearable. She bent to pick up trash.

As she bent over, her back exposed, her rear lifted—revealing her panties. Yuki’s face flushed crimson.

“Put some pants on, you idiot!”

Yuki turned away, covering her eyes.

Lunette clutched her T-shirt, mortified.

By sunset, they’d bagged all the trash.

“My back’s broken…”

Lunette felt dead. *This weak body really is useless.*

“Mio, I didn’t know you were into this stuff.”

Yuki held up the adult manga, dead-eyed.

“No! That’s not mine!”

“I get it. Boys your age are like this.”

*Completely misunderstood.*

Lunette facepalmed. *Why must I bear this shame?*

“Oh—”

A thought struck her.

“I need to ask you something.”

“What?”

“Am I… a girl?”

She had her reasons. Yuki’s attitude suggested she knew Manatsu Mio well. Answers might come from her.

“Aren’t you? Duh.”

Yuki’s *are-you-seriously-kidding-me* stare made her squirm.

“R-Right! Haha…”

“You’re acting weird today. Possessed? I emailed you all morning. No reply.”

“D-Did you…?”

“See for yourself.”

Yuki pulled out Mio’s phone, scrolled to the messages, and thrust it at her. Lunette noticed the contact name:

*Yuki Shiki.*

*So that’s her name.*

By 6:20 PM, Yuki was ready to leave.

“Here’s today’s lecture notes. Study them. Though knowing you, you won’t.” She headed for the door. “I’m off.”

“Wait!”

“What now?”

“I’m hungry. Can you… feed me?”

No blame—she’d been traumatized by that noodle lunch. A free meal ticket? She’d cling to it.

“You’re seriously strange today.”

Yuki studied her. Something felt off about her friend, though she couldn’t pinpoint it.

In the end, Yuki cooked dinner. The interdimensional guest devoured every bite, utterly satisfied.
