The place the girl woke up in was definitely not her home. The reason was simple: her place wasn’t nearly this pretty.
The ceiling alone was way out of a broke girl’s budget, and everything around her screamed “not my house.” The furniture was lined up neatly, everything in order—completely different from her home.
Her home was nowhere near this tidy, okay.
Just saying it made her want to cover her face…
And this bed didn’t look like something a normal family could afford either. It felt…expensive.
“Good morning, Luno-chan.”
Suddenly, a girl appeared in front of her. She was wearing nothing but a thin nightgown; her snow-white skin showed faintly through the fabric, but even that couldn’t overshadow her beauty. Long pink hair drifted lightly in the breeze from the window, slipping into view and drawing Luno’s gaze, while the smile at the corners of her lips gave off an air of elegance and grace.
A live-action rich young lady.
That was Moyu Manatsu’s first impression of her.
Moyu scratched her head. She was sure she hadn’t been drinking last night, so how the hell had she ended up in this weird place?
“Um, who are you?”
The voice that came out of her mouth was that of a teenage girl. After the first jolt of shock, Moyu calmed down pretty fast about that part. She’d already been a girl for a whole month now; she should’ve been used to a girl’s voice by this point.
“What are you talking about, Luno-chan? Is it low blood sugar in the morning or something?”
The girl sounded a little troubled. The way she looked right then could not have been cuter.
What’s going on.
Why is there a foreign girl standing in front of me?
And judging from her reaction, she seems to know me?
Also, what did she just call her—Luno-chan? Who was that?
“Oh no, it’s getting late. Luno-chan, are you still not getting up?”
The girl smiled brightly.
Moyu was still completely lost.
She lifted the blanket and got out of bed, and suddenly realized her chest felt heavier than usual. She grabbed with both hands and gave it a squeeze.
Since when did an A turn into a C…
No matter how much you eat, your cup size doesn’t jump overnight.
That’s not scientific!
“Ara ara, Luno-chan is just too cute~ I’ll go wash my face first~”
The pink-haired girl walked off with a cheerful grin and disappeared from her sight, probably into the bathroom.
Moyu’s mind was a mess. Leaving aside the fact that she didn’t know that girl at all—what was with this sudden size upgrade on her chest!
She was pretty sure nobody had groped her in her sleep!
“Ah-re…”
She suddenly noticed a full-length mirror in front of her and took a step closer.
Silver-white hair flowed down to her waist. Snow-white skin was exposed to the open air. Her dazed eyes gleamed like rubies. Combined with a body that clearly hadn’t fully matured yet, it was a beautiful girl no matter how you looked at it.
The problem was…
That white-haired girl was Moyu Manatsu herself.
“Eh—eh—eh—eh—eh?!”
What the hell was going on!
Why did she wake up as some foreign girl?!
This is not my damn face!
“What’s wrong, Luno-chan?”
The pink-haired girl came out of the bathroom and asked.
Moyu looked like she’d seen a ghost, her face completely drained of color.
“Are you hungry? I guess my stomach’s starting to feel a little empty too.”
No no no, that’s not the problem here, okay!
“If you don’t brush your teeth, Luno-chan, we’ll miss breakfast.”
Okay, yes, she did need to brush her teeth…but that was not the main issue right now!
“Come on, let’s brush and wash up~”
Wait, why are you dragging me—whoa, I can brush my own teeth!
After finally getting her face washed, Moyu’s nightgown slipped to the floor. The snowy peaks on her chest were reflected in the mirror in full view, and the girl instantly spewed a fountain of nosebleed.
“How come you’re having a nosebleed, Luno-chan? That’s kind of a scary amount of blood.”
Moyu had seen her own naked body countless times in the past month, but that was her own body. This was the first time in her life she’d seen an unfamiliar girl’s body up close!
“Um, uh…”
Moyu was completely flustered, especially when she saw what was in the other girl’s hands—a bra.
“What are you doing? Hurry and put it on.”
Faced with the girl’s confusion, Moyu felt her blood boiling.
“I—I don’t know how to put it on…”
Moyu forced herself to look away from the bra in the girl’s hands.
“You’re so cute. I’ll help you~”
“Eek!”
As the clasp of the bra snapped shut, Moyu felt like somewhere along the way, her life had veered completely off the rails.
“This is the uniform~”
The girl produced a set of girls’ uniform from who-knew-where, a style Moyu had never seen before.
“Want me to help you change?”
“N-No, I’ll do it myself!”
If this kept up she’d definitely die!
Moyu Manatsu absolutely refused to let someone else change her clothes.
After fumbling around and finally getting everything buttoned up, the girl in the mirror pressed her hands shyly over her skirt, her face bright red, looking so cute it was almost illegal.
“Let’s go, Luno-chan~”
Already dressed, the girl beamed and took Moyu’s hand. Moyu clutched her skirt for dear life.
“W–wait, slow down.”
They opened the door. Warm sunlight spilled over her face. Moyu raised a small hand to block it, and her ruby-like eyes lit up.
White clouds, blue sky, and a stretch of lawn in front of her. Everything was full of foreign charm, the buildings around them done in something like Roman style. And then up in the sky, a huge dragon flew past…
A dragon?
“Roar!”
A massive creature glided overhead, with golden eyes and vicious claws. It looked exactly like the dragons she’d seen on TV a thousand times.
“Eh—eh—eh—eh—eh?!”
What the hell was that!
Why was there a dragon here!
“Looks really lively this morning~”
The girl watched the roaring dragon with an easy smile.
She actually thought this was normal?!
Am I seriously the only one who finds this terrifying?!
“Let’s go have breakfast~”
“But…”
We’re really just going to ignore the dragon in the sky…?
Moyu felt like her brain just couldn’t keep up anymore.
“Good morning, Caina-senpai~”
“Morning.”
The girl smiled and nodded to the underclassmen greeting her.
So this ojou-sama’s name is Caina…
Having finally learned her name, Moyu followed in her footsteps into a luxuriously decorated building. The inside was even more extravagant. It didn’t look like any ordinary hall at all.
And judging by all the students carrying trays, this was most likely the student cafeteria.
Was this some elite university…?
No, even universities didn’t get this fancy. This was clearly upper-class territory.
“Good morning, Lunorette-senpai~”
“Huh, you mean me?”
Moyu pointed at herself, totally confused.
“Of course they do. Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed, Luno-chan?”
Ojou-sama Caina still wore her signature smile as she gently pulled Luno’s hand and lined up with her in the food line.
“This is…so good!”
Tasting a capitalist-style breakfast for the first time, Moyu couldn’t stop praising it. Back home, she hardly ever had the chance to eat something this amazing.
“Luno-chan today looks just like when you first came to the Academy. It’s really nostalgic~”
“I–Is that so…”
What kind of person was the original owner of this body, this Lunorette…?
She had a million questions, but for now, it was better not to talk too much.
She’d more or less accepted the fact that her soul had crossed over…
She’d already gone through weirder stuff. A little isekai like this shouldn’t be a big deal…right?
It wasn’t until she arrived in class that she understood the meaning of the word “disaster”…
They called it a classroom, but it looked about the same as a college lecture hall. She’d seen plenty of these on TV. So this was…
Another world, wasn’t it.
The reason she thought that was because when she opened her textbook, she was stunned by the unfamiliar script. She was sure it wasn’t English or any kind of Roman letters. She had never seen this writing before in her life.
The crazy part was, she could actually understand it.
Probably the knowledge left behind by the original owner of this body.
“Now then, student Lunette Orpheus, please answer the question on circuit construction for Magic Artifacts.”
The kindly lecturer on the podium wore a mage’s robe and called her name with a gentle smile.
“W–What…”
The girl was dumbfounded.
What the hell, I don’t know this!
Standing up, Moyu felt like her heart couldn’t take much more. From the moment she woke up, something had been off.
Right. Her everyday life was gone.
“Granted, this is third-year material, but considering Miss Orpheus’s abilities, I believe you should be able to answer.”
The teacher was still all kindness, but Moyu wanted to punch someone after hearing that.
“If it’s Orpheus, she can do anything.”
“Well yeah, she’s the Chief Student.”
Hearing her classmates whispering around her, Moyu knew this was bad. She had to do something; she couldn’t just stand there. Looked like she had no choice.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know.”
The classroom fell silent for a full thirty seconds.
I’m sorry, original owner of this body, but I really don’t know. Moyu Manatsu’s heart was in shambles.
“Don’t you think Miss Orpheus is acting a little strange today?”
“A little? I’d say there’s something seriously wrong.”
“She seems fine to me.”
Moyu felt like she was going to explode. Compared to math class, magic class was way scarier…
“Luno-chan, next period is combat training. Let’s form a team~”
Right, this ojou-sama Caina seemed to be really close to Lunorette. They were always glued together.
Thinking of the fact she didn’t know anyone else, Moyu nodded and agreed.
“I don’t know how to put these clothes on…”
“What’s with you today, Luno-chan? It’s like you’ve forgotten how to put on any clothes at all.”
Yeah, well, sorry about that.
Even so, she still ended up asking Caina to help her change. The scenes in between were so steamy they almost burned her eyes, but thankfully, her willpower held out to the end.
They called it training, but it was basically P.E. class. Moyu glanced at the soft armor she was wearing, flicked the hair that had been braided up, and her face twisted with bitterness.
Dressed like this, how was she any different from a female knight…
“Let’s spar!”
Unlike Moyu’s light armor, Caina wore a skin-tight white suit that showed off every curve of her hourglass figure, making her body look perfect from every angle. Moyu’s face flushed red in an instant. Caina looked fired up, her sword practically itching to be swung.
“I refuse.”
Her common sense told her that if she drew her sword, the one who would die would definitely be her…
Moyu had no idea how strong Lunorette was supposed to be, but she knew she couldn’t take that risk.
“It’ll be fine. Luno-chan’s so strong; you’ll be totally okay!”
Stars practically sparkled in Caina’s eyes as she drew her sword from its sheath.
“Hey, put that away, that’s dangerous!”
“Come on, Luno-chan, draw your sword!”
“Are you even listening to me?!”
No matter what, Moyu didn’t want to fight! How was a weakling like her supposed to win?!
“Wait. Her opponent is me.”
A low voice cut through the tension and stopped Caina mid-draw. A blond boy stepped into the makeshift arena between Moyu and Caina.
Delicate features, sharp eyes, pale fingers tightening around the hilt of his rapier.
At first glance he almost looked like a girl, but look closer and the boyish sharpness was there.
“Who the heck is this guy…”
Moyu’s brain cells were already working overtime. Why did weird people keep showing up around her?!
“Ah-la-la, Theos, huh…”
Caina seemed a little wary as she quietly sheathed her sword. From the way she acted around him, she was at least a bit afraid of this boy, which only meant one thing…
This boy was strong.
Moyu wasn’t stupid. Cold sweat broke out on her back, and her knees started to tremble.
“Lunorette, please have a duel with me.”
The boy brought his sword to his chest and gave a noble’s bow, that refined aura rolling off him.
“Theos is challenging Lunorette again? How many times is that now?”
“No idea, but he’s never won once.”
Their classmates watched like it had nothing to do with them, which gave Moyu a massive headache. She might look calm on the outside, but she was scared out of her mind!
“Uhm, how about we just… don’t.”
The less trouble the better. Moyu really didn’t want to get dragged into this mess.
“Hmph. You’re underestimating me. But I’m not backing down.”
Instead of getting angry, the boy called Theos actually smiled. He drew his sword, and a huge wave of energy burst out. The grass around them whipped up in the wind, a few blades and roots flicking against Moyu’s face.
“Here I come!”
He swung his sword down without a shred of mercy, a fierce wave of energy flashing toward her.
Moyu dodged on pure instinct, but in the next second Theos’s sword was already chopping down at her again. Maybe it was the original body’s muscle memory—her hand moved on its own, drawing the sword and blocking his strike.
With a boom, a shockwave tore across the grass.
“I knew it wouldn’t be that simple.”
Theos let out a cold laugh. His gaze turned even sharper, murderous intent pouring off him like an asura from hell.
I’ll die. He’s going to kill me for real!
Moyu Manatsu screamed in her heart. The moment she broke away from Theos’s range, she turned and bolted, completely forgetting about her image.
“Idiot, your back is full of openings!”
Energy gathered into a stream of light and rushed straight at the girl. She glanced back, ruby eyes filled with terror.
Boom!
A violent explosion of energy rang out. The girl was thrown up and then slammed down. She forced herself up on shaking arms, her whole face twisted with fear.
This guy… he really would kill her. Every strike he threw was aimed to kill.
“Something’s off.”
Theos stared at the bedraggled white-haired girl, the sense of wrongness so strong it made his skin prickle, though he couldn’t say exactly why.
Moyu Manatsu had only one thought left: get away from this cursed place. She had zero desire to die here.
Just as she tried to run, Theos’s face appeared right in front of her. That pitch-dark, deathly expression filled her vision, and Moyu blanked out for a split second.
Rumble!
A violent impact exploded across the grass. The watching students couldn’t help gasping in admiration.
The white-haired girl lay flat on the ground, swirls in her eyes, completely knocked out.
“Luno-chan!”
Caina rushed over to check her injuries.
“I… won?”
Theos stared at Moyu passed out on the ground, like he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
“He actually won…”
“How is that even possible…”
Not just him—most of the students around couldn’t accept this reality.
The so‑called Chief Student, the prodigy of the academy in a hundred years, had actually lost?
“No…”
Theos quickly calmed down, his expression turning downright terrifying.
“With strength like that, there’s no way that’s Lunette Orpheus.”
………………
“Oww, that hurts, Caina!”
“Alright, stop whining. Luno-chan, what’s with you today? You don’t feel like your usual self.”
As she dabbed medicine on Moyu’s back, Caina sighed.
Of course they’d gone back to the dorm after the duel to treat her wounds. Getting beaten up that badly by that guy called Theos—there was no way she could stay in the training field.
Moyu wanted to say something, but right now she was half-naked, lying on her stomach with her back exposed. The words stuck in her throat.
“Guess you really overworked yourself, huh, Luno-chan?”
Caina’s worried eyes filled Moyu’s vision, and guilt twisted in her chest.
She wasn’t Lunorette. She couldn’t say lines like that.
“I’m sorry, Caina.”
She wasn’t just apologizing to Lunorette’s friend Caina. She was also apologizing to Lunorette herself.
“I’ll be back to normal tomorrow.”
She really didn’t know what else to say, so that was all she could offer.
Honestly, she had no idea if she would still look like this tomorrow. But… for whatever reason she’d taken over the body of someone from another world, Moyu Manatsu couldn’t shake the guilt.
The sun set. Night fell. The girl’s eyes slowly closed.
“Asleep already?”
Seeing the girl doze off right after her treatment, Caina looked at the untouched food on the tray and let out a soft sigh.
“Guess I’ll give it to Sifrena then.”
The door clicked shut, and darkness swallowed the room.
When Moyu Manatsu woke up the next day…
She was back in her own body.
