Chapter 27: Better to Move Than to Conne

"I need to go to the bathroom..."

Qin Yi felt helpless. This little one was way too clingy.

"No, you can't go out!" The Kitten Girl's just-settled emotions teetered on the edge of collapse again.

"Sigh..."

Qin Yi sighed. He hadn't used the toilet since waking up. Holding it longer might cause serious bodily issues.

So he resorted to a special move—a princess carry—and scooped the Kitten Girl toward the bathroom.

"Huh? Huh?"

Startled by the sudden shift, Lin Jin clung tightly to Qin Yi's neck.

After finishing his business, Qin Yi glanced at Lin Jin standing with her back to the door. "Your turn?"

"N-no, I'm fine," Lin Jin stammered.

Qin Yi narrowed his eyes. He spotted the Kitten Girl's ears flushing pink with shyness.

Inside, Lin Jin felt strange. He was still Qin Yi, yet her feelings had shifted. This instinctive shyness clouded her judgment.

With Qin Yi nearby, her emotions calmed. She slowly regained some of her sharp thinking.

"Let's go," Qin Yi said after flushing. He pushed open the bathroom door.

"Mm," the Kitten Girl nodded obediently. Her tiny tail swayed gently by her feet.

Suddenly, her ears perked up. She peered curiously at the innermost room.

"What's that noise next door?"

"Really?" Qin Yi shot a surprised glance at her pink cat ears.

"Gone again."

Lin Jin felt puzzled but shrugged it off. "Let's head back."

...

Meanwhile, in the uncle's room.

"Dead guy, why aren't you moving?"

"Ahem, we're connected now."

"Connected? I want Mobile! Move faster!"

...

Watching Lin Jin wolf down her food, Qin Yi frowned.

A weird feeling crept into his chest.

Her fingernails were too long. Her chopstick grip was crooked, childlike. And her personality...

This lovely Kitten Girl was Lin Jin, no doubt—but she acted so childish. Like an eight-year-old version of her, the kind you could lure away with a lollipop.
