"You two, stop right there!"
Su Shui and Lin Feng had just bought a game and returned home. Standing at the door, they realized the huge box was tricky to carry inside.
They puzzled over it outside for ages. Finally, gritting their teeth, they stuffed the box under their shirts, hiding it with their clothes.
Pushing the door open, Su Shui clutched his stomach and dashed toward his room. Lin Feng stood beside him, shielding him with his body.
But as soon as they entered, Lin Ning blocked them in the living room.
The two froze. Su Shui bent over slightly, still clutching his stomach.
Lin Feng glanced at his sister, panic flickering in his eyes. He stood there, speechless.
Su Shui, the veteran, instantly calmed down. He placed a steadying hand on Lin Feng’s shoulder.
"Honey, my stomach’s killing me—I really need the bathroom!"
Seeing Lin Feng’s anxious face, Lin Ning hesitated, then stepped aside doubtfully.
Su Shui whirled into the bathroom like a gust of wind. Locking the door, he sank onto the toilet lid and finally breathed out.
"How do I get this out?" Su Shui hugged the game, racking his brains.
...
...
In the living room, Lin Ning and Lin Feng sat on the sofa.
Lin Feng kept sneaking glances at the bathroom, terrified Su Shui would slip up.
"What’s wrong, Xiao Feng? Need the bathroom too?" Lin Ning asked, concerned.
"No, no~"
"How was school today?"
"Nothing special. Just took a test in the principal’s office—super easy!" Lin Feng bragged to his sister.
"Oh? Not bad. How’s the school environment?"
"So basic. I peeked into a classroom—no AC at all~"
"Public schools rarely have AC. Fans are a luxury. Back when your brother-in-law and I were in high school, we had no fans. Thirty-eight degrees Celsius, sixty people crammed in one tiny room..."
Lin Ning rambled on about her school days, but Lin Feng barely listened.
"Why isn’t Su Shui out yet!" Lin Feng fidgeted nervously.
*Ring ring ring*
Lin Feng’s phone blared. He answered—it was Su Shui.
"Hello~ Brother-in-law~" Lin Feng whispered under his sister’s watchful eyes.
"Hey, Xiao Feng, bring me some toilet paper~" Su Shui hung up before Lin Feng could reply.
From the tone, Lin Feng knew it was a rescue signal.
He stood to grab the paper, but Lin Ning yanked him back.
"Rest a bit—you’ve run all day. I’ll go~" She pushed him onto the sofa and grabbed a toilet paper roll, striding toward the bathroom.
"I’m about to see what you’re really up to!"
*Knock knock knock*
Lin Ning rapped on the bathroom door. It cracked open.
Su Shui shoved the game through the gap without looking, whispering, "Xiao Feng, take it quick. Don’t let anyone—" He glanced up and froze. Lin Ning stood right there.
"Don’t let anyone... what?" Lin Ning stared blankly at the game in his hand.
Suddenly, she beamed. "Living room. Now."
...
...
In the living room, Su Shui and Lin Feng knelt on the icy tiles.
As the mastermind and repeat offender, Su Shui got special treatment: a battered keyboard lay beneath his knees. Every scratch on it whispered tales of his past "battles."
Lin Ning sat cross-legged on the sofa, the game box before her.
"Explanations?" She tapped the box lightly, her sharp gaze sweeping over the kneeling pair.
"Well, I can explain~" Su Shui eyed Lin Feng, who sat silently head-down. *Unreliable teammate.*
"Start with why you bought this."
"Honestly, we didn’t plan to. But passing that shop, I saw an elderly grandma running it—her only livelihood, yet no customers. Out of respect for elders, I bought it. Didn’t even know what it was~" Su Shui lied smoothly. Lin Feng watched in awe, envying his nerve. Three years of sparring with Lin Ning had hardened him; small dramas never shook him.
"Fine, say I believe some grandma sold this. Where’d the money come from? More secret savings?!" Lin Ning reached to yank his clothes, hunting for hidden cash.
Su Shui clutched his shirt, blushing. "Ah, honey, not here—Xiao Feng’s watching! Tonight, okay? Tonight!"
Lin Ning punched him square in the face.
Dragging the unconscious Su Shui, she smiled sweetly at Lin Feng. "Xiao Feng, reflect here for an hour. Your brother-in-law and I need a chat~"
Lin Feng knelt trembling, watching Su Shui’s blood streak the floor as he was hauled away. *This can’t be my gentle sister.*
...
...
In the bedroom, Su Shui was trussed up beside the bed.
Lin Ning splashed water on his face. He peeked open an eye, saw her, and snapped it shut, feigning unconsciousness.
"Stop faking—I saw you."
"Hehe, honey, your eyes are amazing!" Su Shui gushed. Right now, even her farts would smell like roses to him.
"No jokes. Explain this!" Lin Ning hurled the game at him. He caught it like a precious treasure.
"Hehe, my lady, I had leftover money from today..." Seeing her genuine anger, he spilled the truth.
"That’s irrelevant. Why does this game have such huge... *things* on it?!" She snatched the box, jabbing a finger at the busty cover art.
Su Shui glanced at her modest chest and finally got it.
"Honey, listen—it’s for Xiao Feng! He went to school so well, I wanted to reward him. He picked it himself!" Su Shui sold out his brother-in-law instantly.
"Really?" Lin Ning narrowed her eyes.
"Absolutely! I hate oversized ones—I love yours just as they are~ healthy!" He patted his chest earnestly.
"Fine, I’ll believe you this once. But never take Xiao Feng to such stores again. And no dirty talk around him!"
"So when he’s not around, I can, right~" Su Shui tested her softened mood.
"First, kneel and write ‘Honey, I was wrong’ two hundred times. Then we’ll see. And this?" She snatched the game. "Confiscated."
Su Shui knelt on the keyboard, tears welling, as she walked off with his treasure.
"Sigh... life’s tough."
