Chapter 38: Jiang Xiang's Despair

You Xun stepped forward and asked, "Zhang Da, why are you all injured? Where's Jiang Xiang?"

The boy with the bowl haircut (his glasses shattered) said weakly, "Xiang... he probably won't make it back!"

"Huh?"

"We got off on the wrong foot. Early on, we met a terrifying monster—the Jackalman..."

...

Jiang Xiang had once been a formidable figure at Mystic City No. 7 High. His family was wealthy. He was tall, strong, and great at basketball. But he was ruthless, often going too far. In Mystic City, he stirred trouble inside and outside school. Luckily, his family had connections in both legal and underworld circles to clean up his messes.

This fueled his arrogance and swagger.

But this was another world.

Only the strong could afford to be arrogant!

Jiang Xiang awakened on his first day of transmigration. He did have some reason to swagger among classmates.

Yet the Jackalmen and orc patrols had fists far harder than his.

In the twilight forest, the lost Jiang Xiang barely survived. His Spirit Energy was drained. He stumbled through the trees.

"Damn it! If I return empty-handed while Lin Luo catches prey, how can I stay the class boss?"

Jiang Xiang couldn't accept it. Even if he knew the way, shame would stop him. Let alone not finding camp.

Ahead, faint sounds drifted. After today's losses, Jiang Xiang was cautious. He tiptoed silently to peek.

Through a bush gap, he saw a small tent under a giant tree. A fresh campfire crackled. By it stood a tall figure with her back turned. Jiang Xiang stared in awe.

She had long, flowing black hair like a waterfall. She wore tight, revealing armor. From behind, her slender waist, curvy hips, and long legs sparked primal urges.

Her pure white katana lay beside the tent.

Though injured, Jiang Xiang was driven mad by her in this wild forest. Lust numbed his pain.

The woman turned slightly, pacing thoughtfully on the clearing. She seemed troubled.

"My god! What a beauty!"

Lust filled Jiang Xiang's small, beady eyes.

"Heh heh heh, my luck's turning! After a day of bad luck, finding this beauty in the wild? She looks skilled, but she's just a woman. If I rush from behind and pin her down, what can she do? Then... I'll have my fun!"

Evil thoughts filled his heart. Lust gave him courage.

"This damn other world is survival of the fittest. No laws here. This goddess is mine!"

Jiang Xiang crept through bushes like a hunting bear. His bulky frame moved with shocking lightness.

He sneaked into the clearing, crouching low. Step by step, he neared the tall woman in black armor. The closer he got, the more perfect she seemed.

Could she really be a goddess descended?

"Screw it! I almost died today! I'll pounce and pin her! Take her, then loot her stuff!"

Only two meters from her, he saw her about to turn. Jiang Xiang seized the chance and lunged like a bear!

"Beautiful lady! Let big brother hug you!"

"Who!?"

The black-haired woman's eyes turned icy. As she spun, her long leg shot out in a straight kick. Fast as lightning.

"Boom!"

A force like a speeding carriage sent the heavy Jiang Xiang flying like a sack.

"Pfft!" He spat blood. His chest caved in deeply. He flew backward like a cannonball, crashing into a tree meters high. Thick branches snapped. He tumbled through the canopy, then slammed to the ground.

Landing, Jiang Xiang felt his waist might be broken. His limbs wouldn't move. Multiple fractures, probably. His chest felt heavy; at least half his ribs were shattered.

"Oww... oww..." He wailed in agony.

From his prone view, he saw long legs in black boots stride toward him.

"Shing!" A soul-chilling katana pressed against his thick, bruised forehead.

"Where did you crawl from, trash? Seeking death?" The black-haired girl's voice was cold and furious.

That kick was terrifying. Clearly, she hadn't used full strength. It dwarfed a Jackalman's power!

Jiang Xiang realized it had nearly killed him.

Through the glinting blade that could end him like a chicken, he barely made out her face.

His eyes widened. He opened his blood-spurting mouth and cried, "You... you... Yukin! Aren't you our No. 7 High's school beauty, Senior Sister Yukin?"

"Hm?" Xueyin was at her lowest. Ambushed by lecherous trash, she'd planned to kill him. But at his words, she paused.
