A wild boar weighing over 200 pounds—how to carry it back?
The two girls were troubled.
“How about marking this spot and calling our classmates to carry it together?” You Xun suggested.
“But what if it’s stolen by other monsters or Goblins?” Feier tilted her head, feeling worried.
Without a word, Lin Luo found some vines, tied up the boar, and threw the vines over his shoulder.
“Hey, Lin Luo, what are you doing?” You Xun exclaimed in surprise.
“Lin Luo, this is work for a burly man! With your fair, slender shoulders, how can you do this? Can you even drag it? What if you strain your back? Your waist is so slim…” Han Lianfei covered her mouth, both shocked and concerned.
“I am a rough man,” Lin Luo declared, flicking his blue medium-length hair. His lips, lustrous like a girl’s, spoke those words.
With that, he hoisted the vines and dragged the boar away.
“Wow… over 200 pounds, and he can actually drag it? Amazing…” Feier blushed as she watched. That strange restlessness inside her stirred again.
“Lin Luo, what profession did you awaken? You react so fast, have such skill, and so much strength? You don’t even have muscles!” You Xun shook her head in disbelief.
“Me? The God Emperor,” Lin Luo said casually.
“Huh? Stop joking! You chuunibyou teens love flashy titles, but it’s disrespectful to the gods! Be serious!” You Xun clenched her little pink fists, watching Lin Luo easily drag the huge boar past her without breaking a sweat.
“I really am… Fine, I’m all-profession awakened. I can do anything,” Lin Luo said helplessly.
You Xun shook her head angrily. “This boy never answers serious questions properly.”
“Lin Luo, need help? I feel my strength has grown too,” Feier called, chasing after him.
“No need. Feier, you keep detecting wild animals.”
“Continue?”
Though the morning was spent helping Feier awaken and practice basic elemental control and Spark Level One magic, You Xun grasped the truth: preparation pays off. Afternoon hunting was wildly efficient. As the Holy Maiden, she injured two Goblins with holy light arrows, yet keenly felt her magic power lagged far behind Feier’s at the same Spark Level One. They stayed within Goblin territory, hunting only.
As the sun set, the ancient, deep forest glowed in mottled gold.
Lin Luo pulled a full load of prey, with You Xun and Han Lianfei supporting from both sides, back to camp.
“Class monitor!”
“The class monitor and Lin Luo are back!”
Classmates cheered at the bounty behind Lin Luo.
“We should win, right?” Lin Luo judged inwardly. With Feier’s wild animal detection spell, their prey-finding efficiency was unmatched. In the dense, mottled forest, animals were plentiful but hard to spot.
Lin Luo dragged the prey into camp. Excited classmates gathered around: besides the giant boar, two deer, five or six pheasants, and wild ducks.
This could feed the whole class for days, especially the boar.
“Class monitor, you’re incredible! How’d you catch so much? Did you learn hunting before?”
“Makes sense. Young ladies like them train in horseback hunting. Mystic City even had real archery spots—shut down later though.”
Classmates praised them endlessly.
“No, no—it’s all Feier and Lin Luo…” the Holy Maiden said joyfully yet helplessly.
“Hey! Why put Lin Luo before me? It’s all him! Without his guidance, I couldn’t have awakened,” Feier said, hooking her arm through Lin Luo’s, her exaggerated softness pressing against his arm.
“Huh? Something’s up. Did hunting spark feelings?” Chen Lulu, a petite brown-haired girl with glasses, adjusted her frames, sizing them up.
“Eh?” Lin Luo startled, embarrassed. “Nothing like that.”
“What feelings? Yuri?” Yi Kexin, a tall slim brown-skinned girl with a long braided ponytail, sneered slightly.
Hey! Hey! Lin Luo didn’t dislike yuri, but hated being labeled like that—yuri, sisters, whatever.
“I’m starving! I’m eating now!” A baby-faced chubby boy lunged at a raw pheasant, gnawing it and getting a mouthful of feathers.
“Are you a savage?” You Xun scolded.
“By the way, has Jiang Xiang’s group returned? What’d they catch?” Lin Luo asked, concerned. Feier’s tall frame hooked on his arm made him feel warm, but not unpleasant.
Classmates turned toward the camp corner with helpless expressions.
There, haphazardly leaning against each other, lay Jiang Xiang’s followers—but Jiang Xiang was missing.
“Oh, back already?” Feier strutted over arrogantly, chest thrust out, looking down at Zhang Da crouched by the fence. “How much prey did you catch? You had more people—all boys too.”
Zhang Da’s face and body were scratched. He looked embarrassed, avoiding the arrogant mage’s gaze.
“Bro Zhang, just show them our prey…” an injured chubby follower muttered lifelessly against the camp edge.
Helplessly, Zhang Da pulled out a field mouse from behind him, limply swaying in the wind…
“Squeak—” The mouse let out a fiercely defiant squeal.
