Chapter 4: The Enchanted Continent
update icon Updated at 2026/1/14 3:30:02

Fantasia Land—a wondrous planet among parallel universes, its laws unlike Earth’s. While Earth harnessed Superpowers born from human potential, this world ran on magic. Only a rare few wielded it; others became warriors...

The planet now teetered on collapse beneath a veneer of peace. Time cycled endlessly here. Its inhabitants remained unaware, though cryptic warnings had seeped through history.

This time, Bai Yi’s Superpower had been invaded by the Soul Beast within Bai Xing. Her power now linked directly to this crumbling world...

......

Tran materialized inexplicably on a grassy plain. The soothing scenery felt strangely familiar—every blade of grass, every breeze thrummed with his own power: the Destruction Force.

Years surviving alone on Dinosaur Island had hardened him. No panic flared now. He scanned his surroundings carefully.

The grass grew thick and lush, yet close inspection revealed chewed patches. Someone grazed livestock nearby. That meant settlements—and food.

Hunger gnawed at him. His battle with Bai Yi, followed by drifting through the spacetime rift, had left his stomach growling loud protests.

*Ada and Bai Yi should be fine... First, fill this empty stomach. Then find them.*

He searched for animal tracks. But the vast plain held only one type of footprint, half-hidden by the towering grass. The trail blurred into chaos.

With a sigh, he picked a direction. At the plain’s edge, a path emerged—dense with footprints. Tran followed it eagerly.

......

In a tranquil village...

"Waner, bring me the flour," a beautiful woman called, busy at her stove.

A small figure skipped over. "Mom, here!" The child handed her a large basin. The woman took it, then turned back to her cooking.

"Yue Waner! Come play!" A child’s clear voice rang outside. "We’ve got ten players! Let’s play hide-and-seek!"

The speaker was a doll-like girl, porcelain-skinned and rosy-cheeked. She glanced excitedly toward the door, then back at her mother.

The woman paused. "Go ahead, Waner. Don’t stay out too late." She crouched, hugged the girl, and kissed her tiny nose. Yue Waner dashed out.

As the door closed, the woman felt a pang of unease. *This feels like a memory... letting her go always ends in regret.* She shook her head. *Just tired.* And returned to her cooking.

Yue Waner bounced outside to join her ten familiar playmates.

"Waner! We’re not playing in the village today," declared a boy with a buzz cut. "We’re going into the forest!"

"But Mom says monsters live there," Yue Waner whispered, fear flickering in her eyes. Her mother’s warnings echoed: *Never enter the forest alone.*

"Pfft! Look at us—ten strong kids! Any monster would run from us!" A dark-skinned boy puffed his chest, flexing small but sturdy arms.

"I... I feel uneasy," Yue Waner murmured, shrinking back from their eager faces. A cold dread coiled in her chest.

A twin-tailed girl grabbed her arm. "Stop worrying! Dad said we must be back before dinner. We only have three hours!" She yanked Yue Waner forward without waiting.

Yue Waner didn’t resist. *Just tired. Bad dreams.* She followed her friends.

......

"I’ll count to sixty! Hide well!" announced a gap-toothed boy. "Only the forest’s edge! No going deeper! Got it?"

"Got it!"

Ten children scattered. The game lasted fifteen minutes. Those found would help seek the rest. All must regroup when time ended.

Yue Waner had rarely entered the forest—never alone. Thick trees loomed like silent giants. *What if a monster jumps out?*

*It’s just the edge. Safe enough. Play with friends.*

Summer afternoon hush hung heavy, broken only by cicadas. Hiding spots were scarce: bug-infested grass or hollow trees.

With seconds left, she spotted a strange spiral-shaped stone. Its hollow center looked shallow—but deeper shadows hinted at hidden space. No time to think. She squeezed inside and crouched, watching her timer.

Outside, the seeker found playmates quickly. Soon, only Yue Waner remained hidden.

"Where’s Yue Waner?" A boy stood before the spiral stone, frowning. "This rock... it looks familiar. Dad mentioned spiral stones... like little houses! *Houses!*" He gasped and sprinted away.

Yue Waner emerged just as time ran out. She saw the boy’s fleeing back.

"Xiao Jie! Why run?" she called.

He whirled. "Waner! Get away! That’s a forest demon-beast!"

"What?" She spun—just as the ground trembled. Her small frame toppled.

Massive black claws erupted from the earth, slamming down. A hulking body followed, then a hooked tail...

"What’s happening, Xiao Jie?" Other children rushed over.

"L-look!" A girl shrieked and fled.

"A Soul Beast? No—it’s a Hermit Scorpion! It lures prey with fake shells!" The gap-toothed boy yelled, bolting.

Paralyzed, Yue Waner stared at the monster. *It ignored me before... but my shout woke it.*

The Hermit Scorpion shook its shell, annoyed. One giant claw swept down.

That claw... *I’ve seen it before. Felt it kill me...*

A crackling staff shot through the air—*CRACK!*—deflecting the claw. Yue Waner stumbled back, alive.

Enraged, the beast whirled toward the attacker. There stood a human, gripping a thirty-meter-long staff.

"Beast!" Tran’s voice cut through the chaos. "You mess with my girl? Get through me first!"
