Chapter 5: I Am Zhi Zun Bao
update icon Updated at 2026/1/15 3:30:02

The Parasitic Demon Scorpion saw this lowly human dare to speak so arrogantly to it. It immediately scuttled forward on its many legs, charging at Tran. It wasn't just that Tran had offended its dignity; Tran was also noticeably meatier than Yue Waner. That girl had so little flesh—eating her wouldn't even be satisfying...

"Ah... what should I do?" Yue Waner slowly stood up, her eyes fixed silently on where the scorpion charged. She was at a loss.

Tran, however, didn't flinch at all. When a sister's in trouble, help should come from all sides—but with no one else here, he'd handle this nuisance himself.

"Hmph! Bring it on!" Tran shortened his rod to two meters, leaped into the air, and swung it down.

The scorpion raised its massive claws to meet the blow. With its size advantage, those huge black claws actually withstood Tran's strike. But Tran's attack wasn't over yet. Using the recoil, he quickly landed right in front of the scorpion.

"Fall down!" Tran activated the length-adjustment mechanism on his Wishful Electrifying Rod. Instantly, the blue rod crackled with electric blue light, extending to ten meters—long enough to easily overwhelm the ten-meter-long scorpion. With a sweep, the Parasitic Demon Scorpion lost its balance and toppled over, its massive body crashing to the ground.

Tran leaped into the air again, the ten-meter rod thickening further as he slammed it down with all his might. But he forgot—the scorpion's most powerful weapon was its tail. The pitch-black tail hardily withstood the attack and even sent him flying.

"Roar!!" The Parasitic Demon Scorpion used its powerful tail to flip upright and charged furiously at Tran.

"Damn, this thing's so tough! My hands are numb." After landing, Tran quickly dodged the venomous tail strike. But out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Yue Waner right behind him. Seeing the girl about to be impaled, Tran activated his full Destruction Force and thrust the rod upward with all his might.

Yue Waner watched the scorpion's tail grow larger as it approached. That familiar feeling returned. Can't that handsome brother save me? Is this really it—I'm going to die again? Why did I say "again"? She closed her eyes, waiting for death.

But the pain never came. When she opened her eyes, the Parasitic Demon Scorpion was gone. A patch of the sky was darkened. Looking closely, the massive scorpion had been blasted into the sky.

"My original skill: Tran Hundred Rod Strike!" Tran jumped into the air. His rod left afterimages in its wake. Don't think it's a hundred strikes—it's a hundred rods hitting at once! With the full effects of his Superpower, the scorpion's tail shattered after just a few hits, letting out a pitiful cry.

"Farewell, finisher move! Friendship Face-Smashing Rod!" A rod five meters in diameter slammed into the scorpion's face. The beast was instantly knocked out... collapsing limply to the ground.

Yue Waner, who had narrowly escaped death, slumped to the ground behind. Seeing Tran defeat the monster, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Tran retracted his rod and walked up to her. "Little sister, are you okay? Big brother will protect you!"

...

The once peaceful village was now in an uproar.

"You brat! Of all places to play, why the forest?" A burly man held a boy missing two front teeth and spanked his bottom.

"Daddy, I'm sorry! I shouldn't have suggested playing in the forest. Waaah~" The little boy cried as he spoke.

Not only was this boy being spanked, but several others stood nearby crying—arms bruised from pinching, ears reddened from being pulled.

An old woman said to a beautiful young mother, "Mother Waner, Waner will be fine. That monster probably won't eat her."

The young mother's eyes were red from crying. How she hated herself! She'd had a bad feeling, so why didn't she stop Waner? She'd thought her intuition was wrong. If only she hadn't agreed to let her go out, none of this would have happened! Now, already with no one to rely on, she'd lost her last loved one too...

"Mother Waner, this is my son's fault. I'll go find Waner for you right now!" The burly man dropped the boy and stood up.

"Are you trying to get yourself killed? Don't you know how terrifying monsters are?" A woman walked up and grabbed his arm—it was his wife.

"Let go! Otherwise, how can we face Mother Waner? These brats abandoned little Waner and ran back alone—are they even men?" The burly man said angrily.

"Aren't they just kids? Besides, even if they went, they couldn't save Waner. You going won't help either—why throw your life away?" The woman said, her eyes red.

The situation was stuck in a dilemma. Everyone knew how powerful monsters were. An ordinary monster could easily defeat five Level 4 warriors, and a Level 4 warrior was five times stronger than a normal person...

This Parasitic Demon Scorpion was one of the more terrifying ordinary monsters. Revenge was out of the question.

Just as everyone felt helpless, a middle-aged man shouted, "Look! Waner's back!"

"What?" The young mother quickly looked where he pointed. There, a long-haired figure carried a pretty little girl on his back, a rod in his hand.

Everyone rushed over to see.

...

After saving the girl, Tran had a little chat with her about life.

"Brother, why are you so handsome and strong? Are you a warrior?" Yue Waner looked at Tran with big, sparkling eyes.

Tran's heart melted at that look. This was the first child who saw him and knew he was a boy! This kid would surely amount to something great...

"Haha, big brother's not a warrior—he's just a hero!" Tran struck a flashy pose, looking at her.

"A hero? Are you a great hero, brother? Of course! You saved Waner, so you must be a hero." Yue Waner said happily. For some reason, she felt very close to him—perhaps it was his charm.

"Oh? Little sister, is your name Waner?" Tran asked.

"Yes, Waner is Yue Waner!" she said.

"Haha, Waner, from now on, call me Supreme Treasure. One day, a hero will come for you, stepping on a seven-colored cloud!" Tran thought to himself: since I'm a hero now, I might as well pick a flashy name. After all, I'm just a jester sent by the Monkey King...

"Okay! Brother Supreme Treasure!" Waner agreed. "Um... Brother Supreme Treasure, my legs won't obey me. What should I do?" Yue Waner realized her legs had gone weak long ago. Well, after two brushes with death, it was a miracle she hadn't fainted. Her weak legs were actually a sign of her courage.

Tran thus played Zhu Bajie for once... though he wasn't carrying his wife.

The village wasn't far. Enhanced by his Superpower, Tran carried Yue Waner through the forest's outer layer without breaking a sweat. Along the way, they chatted and laughed. Tran happily gave her a new name—Zixia Fairy. With such a beautiful name, Yue Waner was overjoyed. Only Tran understood the hidden meaning behind it...

After walking for about ten minutes, they saw a crowd gathered at the village entrance. Soon, someone spotted them and ran over.

"Waner!" A beautiful young mother rushed over.

Yue Waner saw her and happily shouted, "Mom! I have a new name! I'm Zixia Fairy!"
