“Waaah—!” Kalimon spat out a mouthful of green blood. His chest caved in, and most of his breastbone shattered. One kick from Bexia had left him completely helpless.

“Please spare me, my lord!” Kalimon immediately begged for mercy. That single blow had shown him the gap between them. In the Abyss, there was no need for so much talk: the stronger fist made the rules, and the weak could only beg for mercy. Whether they lived or died was entirely up to the stronger party.

“Submission, or death?” Bexia asked calmly. He was the Abyssal Demon Lord—how could he not know how things worked in the Abyss? This was a place where strength spoke for itself, so he’d made sure to cripple Kalimon first and ask questions later.

This method worked just about anywhere in the Abyss. Kalimon was no exception: he immediately prostrated himself on the ground, signaling his submission!

“I’m willing to submit!” Kalimon said at once, afraid that if he hesitated, Bexia would punch him to death. Judging by the strength Bexia had just shown, Kalimon had no doubt he could do it.

“Good. You’ve made the right choice!” Bexia took a few steps to where Kalimon had been sitting and said, “Your name is Kalimon, right? You can get up now.”

“Thank you, my lord!” Kalimon rose and glanced at Bexia. Bexia now looked like the Illusory God of Destruction, much like he had in his Destruction Form. It was also very similar to the appearance of his Demon Lord body. Just one glance was enough for Kalimon to feel an innate suppression rising from their very sources. He immediately lowered his head again, not daring to look at Bexia.

That was how the Abyss was. Its suppression was terrifying. There was no such thing as bloodline inheritance here; all demons were formed from a source. The closer a source was to the Abyss, the more powerful it was, and the more it could suppress other demons.

A stronger source didn’t necessarily mean greater strength, but a stronger being always had a stronger source. The result was a terrifying force of suppression: even an Immortal God-Demon with a high-grade source could suppress an Eternal-level Demon God with an ordinary one!

“Tell me, what major events have happened in the Abyss lately?” Bexia asked calmly. But under the powerful suppression of his source, his voice struck Kalimon with terrifying authority.

“My lord, there’s been a disturbance in the Abyssal Sea recently. Some people have predicted that the Demon Lord’s palace is about to emerge, so countless demons have headed there!”

“They haven’t found the Demon Lord’s palace, but not long ago, something happened that shook many demons!”

“Oh? What happened?” Bexia asked without showing any reaction.

“This subordinate only heard that Lucifer, the Demon King at the Demon Lord’s side, has returned. She started killing demons left and right without so much as a word, and slew many powerful ones. In the end, it took a Demon King stepping in to defeat her,” Kalimon said.

“Is that so? This Lucifer sounds quite impressive. What happened to her afterward?” Bexia asked, pretending not to care.

“I heard she escaped while gravely wounded. This subordinate doesn’t know where she went. Afterward, dozens of Demon Kings jointly issued a wanted notice, promising a great reward to anyone who captures her!” Kalimon continued.

“Anything else?” Bexia asked again.

“There’s one more major matter. The Demon Kings joined forces to establish a Demon God camp to investigate the changes in the Abyssal Sea. Their main goal is to search for the Demon Lord’s palace,” Kalimon said.

“Every city is required to send an Immortal God. Otherwise, the Demon King Alliance will destroy it!”

“You received one too?” Bexia asked, looking at him.

“Yes, my lord. The recruitment order is right in front of you!” Kalimon said. The thing he’d been frowning at just now was the Demon Kings’ ‘invitation’!

“Oh.” Bexia nodded and picked up the iron tablet from the table. The information on it matched Kalimon’s account exactly. He frowned in thought for a moment, then looked at Kalimon. “Are there any requirements for going to the Demon God camp? Can I go?”

“Any Immortal God can go, but, my lord, that’s no place for you. They’re pretending to recruit troops, but in truth, the Demon Kings are just looking for cannon fodder to scout for them. If you go…” Kalimon trailed off. The rest went without saying!

“Heh. They’re just a bunch of turncoats.” Bexia gave a disdainful laugh. After all, the Demon Kings were creations he’d personally appointed back in the day.

When he ruled the Abyss, he had created four Four-Pole Demon Pillars and one hundred and eight Demon King Pillars. Every one of them was a powerful treasure, capable of drawing on the Abyss’s power in battle.

The Four-Pole Demon Pillars were the strongest. Each could draw on one-tenth of the Abyss’s power in battle. Every Demon King Pillar, meanwhile, could draw at least one percent of the Abyss’s power, with the higher-ranked pillars granting a greater boost.

If Bexia remembered correctly, he’d given the strongest pillar to Lucifer. The Demon Kings had probably set their sights on the pillar belonging to the First Demon King, which was why they’d jointly issued a wanted notice for her.

“When are they heading to the Demon God camp?” Bexia asked.

“Within a year at the latest,” Kalimon replied.

“Good.” Bexia nodded and stood up. “I’m going into seclusion for a while. Keep an eye on Lucifer’s whereabouts. Tell me as soon as you hear anything!”

“Yes, my lord!” Kalimon didn’t think too much of it. He hadn’t paid attention to Lucifer because he knew he had no chance of getting the Demon Pillar she carried. That didn’t mean other demons weren’t interested!
