A year passed in the blink of an eye. Kalimon gazed at the place where Bexia was in seclusion, wondering whether he should go and inform his lord that the time was up.

But while Kalimon was lost in thought, Bexia emerged from seclusion. Maybe his eyes were playing tricks on him, but as Kalimon looked at Bexia, it was as if he could see dozens of him. Every movement seemed to be made by dozens of Bexias moving at once, leaving Kalimon completely unable to make out what kind of being Bexia was!

“My lord!” Feeling an even more terrifying pressure from Bexia’s primordial power, Kalimon immediately bowed.

“The time’s up, right?” Bexia asked.

“Yes, my lord!” Kalimon replied.

“Any news about Lucifer lately?” Bexia asked again.

“There’s been no news about Lucifer. It seems the Demon Kings have sealed off all information. I’m useless, my lord—I haven’t been able to uncover a single thing!” Kalimon immediately prostrated himself on the ground and began to tremble, terrified that Bexia would kill him for failing at his task.

“Then let’s go. To the Demon God Camp!” Bexia ignored Kalimon. No wonder someone so cowardly could only stay in this little city as its lord, without even a single Immortal Demon God at his side. He must have been afraid his own subordinates would overthrow him!

“Yes, my lord!” Kalimon hurried after Bexia.

The Demon God Camp was a force recently formed by dozens of Demon Kings. Rumor had it that a Great Demon King who had mastered an Extreme Pillar stood behind it. Its purpose was to explore the various regions of the Sea of the Abyss, along with its ruins. There might be unexpected rewards to be found, but the Sea of the Abyss was a dead land, and extremely dangerous. Ordinary demons wouldn’t come here.

At first, the Demon God Camp was staffed entirely by the Demon Kings’ own subordinates. But after suffering heavy casualties, they changed their strategy and began summoning demons of Demon God rank in the Demon Kings’ names to explore the Sea of the Abyss.

Refuse to come? There was precedent for what happened then. Any demon who was summoned and didn’t show up would naturally be hunted down and dealt with. Some Demon Kings even took matters into their own hands, destroying several demon cities. After that, the rest had no choice but to submit and obey the summons.

After all, refusing meant certain death. If they came, they at least had a chance of surviving—and if they were lucky, they might even gain something. The Sea of the Abyss really was an incredibly rich place. If it weren’t so dangerous, there wouldn’t be a demon alive who didn’t want to come here and claim a share.

Kalimon took Bexia through a teleportation array to the gathering point for the summoned demons. His small city had only one slot for an Immortal Demon God, so now that Bexia had come, Kalimon himself no longer needed to take part.

But Bexia was his master now. How could Kalimon possibly run off when Bexia had come? He could only grit his teeth and follow.

“You recruits! All of you, get over here! I’m an officer of the Demon God Camp. Now line up while I count you!” roared a gaunt, gray-skinned stone-statue demon with a pair of enormous bat wings on his back. He looked as though a stiff breeze could knock him over, but he was actually a Great Demon God at the Eternal level.

The ranks in the Abyss weren’t especially clear-cut. Both Immortal- and Eternal-level beings were called Demon Gods, but to distinguish between them, the word “Great” was added before the title of an Eternal-level Demon God.

The rank above that was the Creator God level, and those beings were generally called Demon Kings. However, a Demon King who possessed a Demon Pillar also had a title, while ordinary Demon Kings did not.

“Huh?! Kalimon City has one extra?” The stone-statue demon checked the numbers and looked at Bexia and Kalimon in surprise. Everyone else tried to bring as few as possible, but these two had actually brought one extra.

But the stone-statue demon didn’t bother with it. As far as he was concerned, the more people, the better. That way he could finish the task assigned by his superiors and avoid getting chewed out when he went back. So he didn’t even give Kalimon a chance to explain. He registered both their names, tossed them a token, and went off to count the other demons.

The information on tens of thousands of demons was soon recorded. The stone-statue demon activated a black crystal, opening a spatial rift. The Demon God Camp lay on the other side.

“Come on! Get in there, all of you!” The stone-statue demon “ushered” the tens of thousands of demons into the spatial rift like a herd of pigs. Of course, in his eyes, these demons were no different from pigs. They were just cannon fodder for those lords to explore the Sea of the Abyss.

As soon as they entered the Demon God Camp, a dense mass of Abyssal demonic energy washed over them. Cultivating here would be much faster than in most places. It seemed the Demon Kings who built this place had put a lot of effort into it.

But that was only natural. At first, this place had been used to gather the Demon Kings’ subordinates, and it was also where the Demon Kings rested. It would’ve been embarrassing if they hadn’t made it comfortable.

“Don’t wander off, and don’t look around! You recruits, follow me to report to the lord!” The stone-statue demon led the way, barking orders. But just then, another voice cut in.

“I’m requisitioning these demons on behalf of Lord Tinos, the Demon King!” A lava demon, magma flowing over its entire body, strode over. Its power was several times greater than the stone-statue demon’s, and not a single demon dared meet its gaze.

But Bexia was the exception. There was no one in the Abyss Bexia didn’t dare look in the eye. And if Bexia hadn’t used causal power to conceal their primordial pressure, a single glance would’ve cut the lava demon’s combat strength in half!
