Chapter 13 Under the Deep Sea

After some searching, we finally figured out the way to navigate underwater.

According to the shrimp man's explanation, the Aquatic Tribe rarely leaves their city for ordinary waters. Even if they need to go to a different city, they will only use specially designed underwater teleportation channels. Units like him, who need to go out and fight, have an implanted device in their bodies to determine directions, as it will indicate the nearest direction.

However, since this shrimp man is willing to guide us, there's no need for us to dissect his kind in front of him and remove the positioning device from their corpses. After all, we've killed many of his kind above.

Although these guys all look like humanoid creatures, it's still uncomfortable to kill them, but who asked them to be shrimp people? Hmm, not shrimp paste, I keep telling myself in my mind.

Outside the window is completely dark now, I look at the pitch-black window and ask, "Dale, is your airship pressure-resistant? The underwater pressure is quite high."

"It should be, anyway, I had someone put the Earth-series Great Ultimate, Titan's Wrath, into my magic generator before, and when unleashed on this airship, it can withstand 4 attacks."

I've heard of Titan's Wrath magic before, it seems there's a skill bar for it, but I've never used it. The actual effect is summoning two stone pillars of about 1000 square meters each, crushing the target from two directions. Since the hull of this airship can withstand four attacks, it shouldn't be too weak.

"Since you're leading the way, by the way, why do your Aquatic Tribe attack humans?"

Although I heard a certain claim from the clam lady and sea dragon, I want to know the reasons from these ordinary Aquatic Tribe now.

"Well, it seems you were quite righteous initially, willingly attacking us humans. What exactly did your Sea King say to make you fight so desperately?"

"Well..."

This guy pondered for a while and then said, "Actually, we only attack humans because of the Sea King's orders. In the sea, the Sea King's orders are absolute, after all, the royal family is the strongest Aquatic Tribe, and we have to obey in order to save our own lives. So, if we lose our lives, who would obey them?"

This guy is really honest. Did their bodies evolve into humanoid form without growing brains? No, if they didn't grow, they wouldn't have memories either.

But come to think of it... the Sea King seems pretty powerful, but I wonder what level they are.

"What kind of Aquatic Tribe is your Sea King?"

"Our Sea King? Of course, it's the Sea Dragon."

...

Sea Dragon?

Why do I remember seeing one not long ago? Could that be the royal family of the actual Aquatic Tribe?

No way? The royal family who eloped with a clam lady, can't be, that's quite a story, isn't it? Well, it's kind of thrilling to think about it, right?

But whether different species can produce offspring is not something I need to worry about.

"Since the sea dragons are your royal family, does that mean the Aquatic Tribe is also ruled by the dragon race?" Aliyah asked beside me.

"Aren't they all dragons?" The shrimp folk shook their shrimp heads like waves, their whiskers swaying back and forth. Do you think you're the Monkey King?

"That's different! Sea dragons are a separate existence from the dragon race, that's not the same at all! And those dragon folks, when they enter the water, are no match for our Aquatic Tribe, especially when they encounter our Sea Dragon King."

"Oh..."

I nodded. Dragons weaken in water? Makes sense, especially those Eastern dragons with slightly more agile bodies underwater, unlike those clunky Western dragons, do they even know what resistance is?

Hmm, so it seems that the dragon race still has ways to deal with them. No wonder those guys live in the mountains, water must be unfavorable for them.

"One last question, why did you go into the human city? Your companions are battling us, and you went alone into the city, are you making deals with someone there?"

"Yes, but not exactly. I was just delivering a message to the owner of a shop in the city called 'Eternal Iron Forger', asking, 'What's the price of tomorrow's weapons?' and 'Which fish is more abundant in the water.'"

"Huh?" I furrowed my brows upon hearing this.

"What kind of cryptic language is this?"

"Well, the answer I got was 'Tomorrow's rain will be abundant' and 'There will be fewer clouds in the sky.'"

"What nonsense is this?"

Dale thought for a moment and started typing these four phrases into the computer to search.

"Maybe there's a corresponding meaning in the books uploaded to the terminals by now."

"But this is from the Aquatic Tribe, humans' books probably don't have it yet."

I chuckled. "And this is clearly leveraging coded responses to match specific data files, that's the only way to ensure foolproof information. Unless we catch that shopkeeper or get a corresponding information slip, we can't achieve anything."

"Well, knowing something is better than nothing. While the signal is still good, let me quickly send a message to your students. They might be able to catch that shopkeeper, which could potentially solve the issue."

Saying this, Dale swiftly typed on the terminal. However, I doubted they could send us any information, especially with just earpieces; most likely, hearing a voice message would be their limit.

"Well, in that case, when we reach your city's vicinity, we'll release you. Remember, once you're back, you need to share your intel, but make sure to say you escaped during the chaos. You need to know, none of the Aquatic Tribe members who went with you have returned; for you to return alone is highly suspicious."

"Of course, I would do that even without you telling me." He nodded continuously.

Seems like he still has some brains, just lacking a bit maybe.

"Um, actually, we're almost at our city." Suddenly, the shrimp folk said.

Pure White quickly activated the camera at the front of the submarine, and instantly, the scenery ahead appeared before our eyes.

Like an underwater city from those sci-fi movies, the city in front of us was enveloped by a huge semicircular protective membrane, with a massive palace at the center of the semicircle, surrounded by various other buildings.

Outside of the protective membrane, there were also some scattered buildings distributed on the seabed, and from afar, you could see some green figures swimming back and forth in between.

This sparked a question in my mind.

Are the members of the Aquatic Tribe humorous? If you are all fish, why bother creating a membrane? Is it just for protection? But why didn't I see anyone swimming inside the membrane? Could it be that it's filled with air?

Aren't you Aquatic Tribe supposed to be able to live inside the water?

"I mean, who lives inside there? Aren't you Aquatic Tribe able to live directly in the water?"

"Because our Aquatic Tribe is also divided into the primitive and evolved types. Our evolved humanoid Aquatic Tribe can fight or live where there is air, while the primitive type can only stay in water, which is why we've built the city like this."

...So, it's just your way of treating different classes of the same kind, right? I understand, trying to make your evolved kind appear noble.

"Well then, shall we... take a tour?"

I looked at everyone and said with a smile.

"A day trip to the Dragon Palace, anyone?"

"Are you sure a day trip is enough?"
