A cursed Saint Cloth? You mean the Saint Cloth those people tried to take by force earlier.

It was called KukuLu’s Saint Cloth, or something like that. Ye Su hurriedly took the garment out of his inventory. It was an outfit with a strong ethnic style, decorated with a few colorful gemstones.

“Are we supposed to destroy this thing?” Ye Su didn’t really understand why Kuxi wanted to do that. It was a level 40 piece of equipment, after all.

“That’s right. Can you do it? We can’t let something this evil remain in the world!”

She looked at him with such hopeful eyes that Ye Su felt a little awkward.

He started checking the item’s stats. He didn’t have the [Appraisal] skill, but as a GM, checking an item’s stats was ridiculously easy.

[KukuLu’s Saint Cloth Lv. 40]

Durability: 180/200

Health: 50

Magic: 100

Attack: 80

Spirit (Error): -200 (Permanent Modifier)

Defense: 100

[SKILL]: [Confusion] (Permanently applied; mental breakdown; attack doubled)

An Error judgment? The data was abnormal. This garment had a bug: instead of boosting spirit, it reduced it by 200 points!

And the modifier was permanent. In other words, even if you took it off after putting it on, that -200 wouldn’t go away. Your Spirit would be reduced by 200 points forever.

What kind of garbage equipment was this? It was nothing but a bug with a negative effect.

“This is a Saint Cloth cursed by God. It can’t even be called a Saint Cloth anymore. Everyone who wears it loses their reason and becomes a minion of the Demon God. My father was cursed too...” Before she finished speaking, Kuxi’s voice was already breaking with tears, as if she’d remembered something painful.

That probably wasn’t a curse. Her father had most likely been afflicted by the Confusion skill.

So that’s what happened... Ye Su didn’t know what Kuxi had been through, but fixing bugs was part of a GM’s job too.

[Unique Skill—GM Console] activated!

A window appeared before his eyes. As before, it offered him only three options to choose from. All the others were grayed out and unavailable.

He knew there was an error in the data, but Ye Su couldn’t see exactly where it was.

He could only use [Bug Analysis] to investigate.

[Estimated time based on the bug’s nature: ten minutes.] A window appeared and flashed before Ye Su.

Bug analysis actually took time? And it was automatic, too?

He hadn’t used this feature before. Ye Su had thought it would conjure up a computer for him so he could check the code line by line. Turns out he didn’t have to do anything at all.

...Wasn’t this basically idiot-proof? If only a programmer’s job were this easy... Ye Su grumbled to himself, thinking how nice it would be if bugs really were this easy to analyze.

“We’ll talk about destroying it later. I’ll hold on to this for now. All that commotion just now probably alerted the people outside. Let’s both act like we don’t know anything...”

Keeping his true strength hidden was practically an unwritten rule for every transmigrator.

After all, this world was so unfamiliar. They didn’t have many people they could trust, and Ye Su didn’t even know where he stood in terms of strength.

The stronger you were, the more likely you were to attract the attention of other powerful people. The world was full of malice. Plenty of people might curry favor with you, or hurt you for their own benefit.

He’d helped develop this game, so he knew a great deal about its data.

For instance, the game had gone through multiple eras and versions. Each new version brought new equipment and new gameplay, and raised the level cap. Before he transmigrated, the game had already gone through several closed beta tests. The third version was being tested at the time, with a level cap of 100. Around level 100, equipment could push your stats past 1,000.

What’s more, according to the plans, development on the fourth version had already begun. The level cap would be raised to 120.
