Chapter 10: I Really Don’t Like Men

“Ding! Congratulations, player Mo Xi, you’ve leveled up.” After Mo Bai finished clearing out this wave of Forest Wolves, Mo Xi leveled up from the little bit of EXP she’d picked up.

“I leveled up just like that?” Mo Xi stared blankly.

She hadn’t done a thing. She’d just sat there for a while, and she leveled up?

Then what had she been doing for those past few hours?

She’d been seriously doing quests and grinding monsters to level up, hadn’t she?

“Are you a closed beta tester? How did you know about this leveling spot?” Mo Xi asked curiously.

She’d noticed that Mo Bai’s attacks hadn’t drawn the Forest Wolves’ aggro. That was practically a bug.

A player exploiting a bug on launch day.

That had to be the legendary closed beta tester, right?

“No, I’m not. I’m just an ordinary player.” After putting the five attribute points he’d gained from leveling into Intelligence, Mo Bai shook his head.

Neither in his past life nor in this one had he taken part in the closed beta for Super God Domain.

So how could he be called a closed beta tester?

“An ordinary player?” Mo Xi looked Mo Bai up and down.

You expect me to believe that a player who’s already level six, when everyone else is only level two, is ordinary?

Yeah, right.

“Then how did you find out about this place?” Mo Xi pressed.

“I stumbled across it by chance,” Mo Bai said.

There was no way he could tell Mo Xi he’d been reborn, which was how he knew about this bug spot.

It was his biggest secret.

“Could you tell me exactly how it happened?”

“Why do you have so many questions?” Mo Bai glared at Mo Xi.

Why was this guy more troublesome than a woman? Saving him had been a mistake.

He hadn’t saved a player—he’d saved a walking book of a hundred thousand questions.

“Well, I just wanna know,” Mo Xi said coquettishly.

But she’d forgotten that she was a man right now.

Her attempt at acting coy only made Mo Bai’s skin crawl.

Brr!

Mo Bai sucked in a sharp breath when he saw Mo Xi acting coy.

It was the first time he’d ever seen a man act coy.

He was getting goosebumps all over.

“Th-this… I really don’t like men.” Mo Bai rubbed his arms and said, horrified.

Had his good looks really caught a man’s attention?

If only he’d known, he would’ve turned down his appearance settings.

“S-sorry. It was just a reflex,” Mo Xi said awkwardly.

She was a bona fide idol, yet she’d fallen this far.

It was all because of that damn gender-hiding feature.

If she were a woman right now, none of this would’ve happened.

“Once we’ve cleared out the Forest Wolves here, I’ll take you back to the starter village. Then you can join a guild. Someone there will protect you,” Mo Bai said warily.

If it was a reflex, that meant this guy was already a repeat offender.

He’d actually tried to seduce Mo Bai as a man. Mo Bai wasn’t falling for it.

He had to get away from this player named Mo Xi as soon as possible.

He didn’t want to catch whatever this was.

“A guild? No way!” Mo Xi shook her head.

She was going to become the spokesperson for Super God Domain. How could she join a player’s guild?

If the spokesperson for Super God Domain joined a player’s guild, just imagine how much attention that guild would get.

She wasn’t about to hand someone else such a huge gift for nothing.

“Then I suggest you level up as quickly as you can and get to a city. No one will bother you there,” Mo Bai said.

Once players reached level ten, they could leave the starter village and enter a city.

Super God Domain had plenty of cities. Once Mo Xi left the starter village, those people would have no way of finding her.

“Level ten? But I have to leave the starter village to do quests,” Mo Xi said helplessly.

There was no way she could reach level ten with those three getting in her way.

“But once I reach level ten, I’ll have to leave here.”

“Even if I wanted to help you, there’d be nothing I could do,” Mo Bai said with a headache.

Once he finished Peerless’s quest, he’d probably leave the starter village.

By then, he wouldn’t be able to help Mo Xi if she still hadn’t reached level ten.

He couldn’t put his own plans on hold for Mo Xi.

He’d already done more than enough for her.

“Then can I join your guild?” Mo Xi’s eyes lit up.

Mo Bai had saved her. If she joined his guild, she could help him attract attention.

That would be her way of repaying him.

“Do I look like I’m in a guild?” Mo Bai pointed at himself.

Even in his past life, he’d been a loner. How could he possibly have a guild?

“Then can I stick with you? Just until you leave the starter village,” Mo Xi pleaded.

“If that’s all, I don’t mind,” Mo Bai said with a nod.

Taking Mo Xi along would waste some time.

But it wouldn’t affect his plans too much.

Besides, Mo Xi was a man. It wasn’t like Mo Bai could end up with a guy clinging to him, right?
