This time, Zixiao and Yuche went into the fitting room with Yuzhe.
After all, the fitting room was pretty spacious, and Yuche hadn’t planned to leave Zixiao out entirely.
They didn’t want to push him too far.
So now the three of them were together in the fitting room, and the mood suddenly turned awkward.
“Could you two... turn around? Do you have to watch me change?”
Yuzhe pressed a hand to his forehead. One Yuche had been embarrassing enough already. Now both of them had come in—where was he supposed to put his face?
Zixiao obediently turned around and covered her eyes with both hands, though she looked like she really wanted to sneak a peek.
Yuche didn’t budge. She stared straight at Yuzhe. “Oh, come on, big brother. It’s not like I haven’t seen you in those tasteless boxer briefs of yours. What’s the big deal? We’ve seen each other in the buff before, haven’t we?”
Yuzhe barely reacted to that, but Zixiao trembled with anger.
So what if you’ve seen him? Just you wait—I’ll make a comeback one of these days and see if you’re still so smug.
Of course, Zixiao was only thinking that. She was shy by nature and didn’t have the guts to actually do anything.
Just like she didn’t dare turn around right now.
Yuzhe grabbed Yuche by the shoulders and turned her the other way. “This is different... Come on, turn around. No matter how shameless I am, I still have some self-respect.”
Then a flurry of phone notifications broke the awkward moment Yuzhe was suffering through.
Ding-a-ling!
Yuzhe took his phone from the trench coat he’d just changed out of, which was lying off to the side.
Who is it...? Honestly, I haven’t added that many people. The notifications are coming pretty frequently, though. Could it be something urgent?
When he opened the messaging app, he saw that the sender’s avatar was an anime girl wearing a hat shaped like a lychee.
Her contact name suited the avatar perfectly: Little Lychee.
“Little Lychee?”
Yuzhe was a little surprised. He’d only added Ouyang Lizhi as a friend to be polite, so he hadn’t expected her to actually message him.
At the name, Yuche looked puzzled, while Zixiao immediately spun around and hurried over, on guard.
“Little Lychee?! Why is she messaging you, big brother? I knew you shouldn’t have added her!”
“Calm down, calm down. We haven’t even seen what she wants yet. What are you getting so worked up about?”
Yuzhe gently pushed Zixiao’s head back a little. She was practically right up against his phone screen.
Yuche leaned in too. “Little Lychee? Who’s that? One of the girls you’ve picked up out there, big brother?”
“When have I ever picked up girls?” Yuzhe said as he opened the chat. “She’s Zixiao’s classmate. I only added her as a formality that day. I have no idea what she wants!”
There were several messages from Little Lychee in a row.
“Brother Yuzhe, could you help explain things to my mom?”
“I really didn’t mean to get yogurt on my skirt, and I didn’t mean to cause you any trouble, Brother Yuzhe. But no matter what I say, Mom still wants to hit me!”
“Waaah 😭 I’m having such a hard time. Please tell Mom not to hit me on the head anymore. She’s been at it for ages.”
Yuzhe was at a loss. What was this supposed to mean? He slowly typed a question mark into the chat.
It was only a little while before Little Lychee replied.
“Never mind, Brother Yuzhe. Mom says she’s going to bring me over tonight to apologize in person... But I’m so dumb, I don’t know how to explain it. Honestly, I don’t even know what happened... This is so hard...”
Still, Yuzhe caught on quickly.
From those few messages, he pieced together the main point: Little Lychee’s mother thought she’d caused him trouble, so she was planning to come over and apologize.
Was that really necessary? It seemed like a bit of an overreaction.
Unless there was another reason she wanted to pay them a visit...
Once he’d sorted out his thoughts, Yuzhe replied, “Got it,” then put his phone away.
Zixiao relaxed a little too. She knew the Ouyang Family relied heavily on the Su Family in business, so she figured Little Lychee was probably worried she’d upset her big brother.
But she had no idea about Mrs. Ouyang’s other motive...
Yuche was still raring to go. “You’ve finished replying, big brother. Time to get back to business, right?”
“Business?”
Yuzhe glanced at the Lolita outfit Yuche had been holding up for ages. He knew there was no point playing dumb.
“Do you still need us to turn around? Fine, we’ll turn around. You’ll need us to turn back in a minute anyway.”
At first, Yuzhe had no idea what she meant. Then he started putting the outfit on and realized he had no clue how to wear it.
He’d drawn little girls in Lolita-style outfits for his manga before, but... wearing one himself was a whole different story.
Wait... How do I put this on? Which way do these buttons go? And where am I supposed to thread this silky ornament?
Yuzhe knew he couldn’t just waste time fumbling around. “Um... could you two help me out? Let’s get this over with. I don’t want to spend another second in here.”
Yuche’s plan had worked perfectly. She happily pulled the still-blindfolded Zixiao around, and the two of them quickly got the outfit onto Yuzhe, one helping from the front and the other from behind.
Zixiao kept her eyes covered at first, but eventually lowered her hands. She couldn’t help otherwise. While she was at it, her little hands lingered on Yuzhe’s lower belly a little longer than necessary.
Hmm... Why does big brother eat and sleep all day, yet never have an ounce of fat on him?
Once he was dressed, the two of them came around to the front to admire their “masterpiece.”
All you could say was... Yuzhe looked perfect in anything.
Only once it was on did they realize it was a black-and-white Gothic Lolita outfit. A black ribbon was tied in Yuzhe’s silver hair, and with his utterly deadpan, world-weary expression, an aura of cute, cool elegance seemed to drift around him.
He really did look like one of those cool, calculating little girls from anime.
Even Yuche, who was known for her imposing presence, froze for a moment. Then she gazed at Yuzhe in a daze.
I want big brother to hold me in his arms so badly...
Huh? Zixiao was a little confused. Yuche hadn’t taken out her phone to snap a picture, which meant it was her turn!
Zixiao took out her phone and discreetly snapped a photo of Yuzhe. She set it as her wallpaper, then put her phone away.
Phew... At least I still have some self-control.
There was no mirror in the fitting room, so Yuzhe had no idea what he looked like. He just knew the outfit was uncomfortably hot. But he didn’t want to go outside. His two younger sisters had already seen it, so he might as well change back.
Yuzhe patted Yuche on the shoulder to bring her back to her senses. “Let’s not go out. I really don’t want to look in a mirror right now.”
“Sure,” Yuche said, snapping out of it. “We’ve already seen you in your Lolita outfit, big brother. And we took pictures, so you can see them yourself later.”
Yuzhe had drawn manga before, so he knew what kind of outfit this was. He looked at Yuche.
“I don’t want to see myself dressed like this. But... I think it’d suit you better than me, Yuche.”
After all, you’re the one who’s actually a little girl.
“Hmm? Do you want to see me wear it, big brother?” Yuche gave him an eager smile. “Sure. When we get home, I’ll wear it for you as long as you like.”
“I’m looking forward to it.”
But before the subject had even changed for long, Zixiao held out a light-colored hanfu to him.
“Okay, big brother, change out of this one. Yuche can wear that outfit at home, and I’ll wear this hanfu for you when we get back. But right now, we want to see you in it.”
Yuzhe was in danger.
After that, Yuzhe stunned them both all over again in the hanfu, and their wallpaper collection gained a new addition.
The two of them left the fitting room, satisfied, with Yuzhe following behind in resignation, back in his own clothes.
The salesgirl waiting in the distance was rather disappointed. The silver-haired beauty had changed without even coming out to look in the mirror, so she hadn’t gotten a chance to admire the view. Still, she’d had a pretty satisfying day.
Yuche and Zixiao had actually tried to persuade Yuzhe to leave wearing the first outfit he’d tried on, the one with the pleated skirt. But he’d refused immediately.
They’d also forbidden him from wearing his old trench coat again.
In the end, they compromised. Yuzhe went back into the fitting room and changed into an outfit with a blue shirt, casual pants, canvas sneakers, and a baseball cap.
The outfit was pretty gender-neutral, so Yuzhe could just about accept it.
What he didn’t know was that to everyone else, he looked exactly like a silver-haired beauty with a cool sense of style.
Yuche bought every outfit Yuzhe had tried on, three of each. After all, all three of them could wear them! Of course, she bought hers two sizes smaller than Yuzhe’s and Zixiao’s.
In his new outfit, Yuzhe left the fourth floor with his two younger sisters.
But when they took the elevator down to the first floor and were about to leave the mall...
He spotted a familiar figure standing not far away......
She was wearing a pure white dress.
It was Qi Xinye. The moment she saw Yuzhe, she smiled and raised her right arm to wave at him, making her ample chest sway.
As if she’d been waiting there all along.
But how had she known he’d come here to shop?
Was it a coincidence?
