Actually, this attack had already appeared during the woman’s fight with the crocodile yesterday. But she had to use it again to pad the chapter out to the required word count.

This kind of attack was completely useless against the crocodile. Ordinary attacks didn’t even register, and this one was little more than a tickle.

Facing the poisonous gas, the woman knew she couldn’t afford to drag this out any longer. For one thing, the readers were about to start cursing her, and they were really not to be messed with. For another, the poison was seriously toxic. If this went on much longer, she’d really pass out. That lecher was hiding in the bushes. If she let him take advantage of her and get a look at her body again, it’d all be over.

The woman shook her head. The fiery-red glow of the katana in her hand grew even brighter.

“You filthy crocodile! Take this!”

This time, the woman took the initiative and charged straight at the crocodile.

The crocodile wasn’t worried at all. It spewed poisonous gas again while swiping its claws at her.

Just as the poisonous gas was about to hit the woman and the claws were about to rake across her, her body suddenly wavered and turned translucent, then vanished completely.

The crocodile’s attack missed completely. Just as it was about to search for the woman, it heard a voice behind it.

“Die!”

The crocodile froze. Suddenly, it felt a burning heat behind it, which quickly turned into a searing pain.

When it looked again, the woman’s katana had cut a not-too-deep gash into its back. The blade’s fiery-red surface was scorching hot, and soon the crocodile’s wound was seared.

The crocodile had taken a serious hit this time. It swung a claw back at the woman, but she ducked nimbly and dodged it with ease. Then she yanked her katana, lengthening the crocodile’s existing wound. Blood poured from it like a stream.

The woman didn’t stop. She wanted to seize the opportunity and finish the crocodile off in one go.

The fiery-red katana in her hand suddenly changed. Its red glow faded, replaced by a purple light.

The crocodile’s eyes widened. Jiuye, hiding in the bushes, was also taken aback. Who would’ve thought the woman was a dual-attribute Spirit Master, with both fire and lightning attributes?

The woman’s expression was stern. She raised her katana and pointed it at the crocodile.

“Have you made peace with the fact that you’re going to die?”

The crocodile was starting to panic.

“You’re a dual-attribute Spirit Master! Why didn’t you just finish me off yesterday? Why wait until today?”

The woman shook her head helplessly. “I can’t help it. That damn author planned it this way. It’s driving me crazy too. My fire attribute might be a bit much for you, but my lightning attribute can definitely finish you off with ease.”

The crocodile laughed when it heard that.

“Ha! You’re that confident?”

The woman nodded.

“Yes, I’m confident. Because that damn author has planned for you to die by my lightning-imbued blade.”

The crocodile was now a little awkward. It looked up and cursed at the sky. “You lousy author! Didn’t you say I had stronger defenses against lightning? Then why is this woman saying I’m going to die by her lightning blade?”

The author glanced at the WPS interface, picked his nose, and said helplessly, “What can I do? The readers are really not to be messed with, so you’ll just have to die first. Come on, you’ve been around for so many chapters. You’ve had your fun. You’re a monster—quit yapping and hurry up and die!”

“Hey, you…” The crocodile was furious.

As it lowered its head, it saw a purple circular formation marked with a strange pattern appear beneath its feet. Then something struck it.

“What the hell!”

Countless bolts of lightning appeared within the magic circle, crackling without pause. The cries of a magical beast rang out among them.
