Given the situation, it’d be incredibly difficult for the unarmed woman to take on a crocodile covered head to toe in sturdy scales. All she could do was dodge its attacks. She had no chance to strike back.
How could Jiuye have failed to notice? He pulled the katana from the ground right in front of him and leaped out of the bushes.
“Hey, big sis! Catch!”
With a shout, the young man hurled the katana toward her.
The blade cut through the air, and the woman got ready to catch it. Just as it was within reach, a claw snatched the katana away first.
When the woman saw the katana back in the crocodile’s hands, she turned and unleashed a torrent of abuse at the young man.
“You idiot! Couldn’t you put a little more strength into it? Moron!”
The young man looked a little embarrassed.
“Heh heh… Sorry about that.”
Holding the katana, the crocodile glanced back at Jiuye with a grin. Then it threw the sword even farther in the opposite direction.
It threw the sword behind the woman. As soon as she saw it fly, she spun around and darted into the bushes. The crocodile leaped after her, hoping to knock her down in one go. But just as it sprang into the air, it suddenly heard a sharp smack. Pain flared through its head. It crashed into something and went *boing* as it hit the ground.
The crocodile lay on the ground, rubbing its head and groaning. It looked up, but there was nothing there.
“What’s going on?!”
It roared, then looked back toward Jiuye. At first, it thought he’d pulled some kind of trick—but by now, Jiuye had already fled without a trace.
By the time the crocodile got back to its feet, the woman had returned with the katana in hand.
“Sorry to keep you waiting. The fight starts now!” the woman cried. A fiery red glow spread across the blade.
“What the hell! If you had an ultimate move, why didn’t you use it sooner? Were you trying to stretch this out to fill a whole chapter?!” Jiuye shouted from the bushes.
The woman shot Jiuye a glare. “You shut up! And what if I was?!”
The crocodile burst into laughter.
“This is fun, this is fun! You’re right—the fight’s only just begun. Come on, I’ll give you a quick death and end this battle nice and early.”
As soon as it finished speaking, the crocodile opened its massive jaws and sprayed a cloud of dark purple poison at the woman.
The woman had suffered badly here just yesterday. If not for that poison, how could that lecher have seen her naked? The thought made her furious.
When the poison came at her, the woman didn’t dare face it head-on. She could only dodge.
The poison sprayed across a great tree, which lost every trace of life almost instantly.
She’d have to be careful around that poison. After all, this was a level 42 monster. A direct hit might kill her on the spot—or leave her with hardly any time. And if she breathed in the poison, it would gradually spread through her body until she passed out again.
The woman had no idea how much poison the crocodile could spray, but dodging was definitely the safest option.
But she wasn’t about to be outdone by the crocodile’s poison attack. She swung her fiery red katana at it again and again, sending out wave after wave of slashes so densely there was barely any space between them.
“Hmph! You think that’ll hurt me?” The crocodile didn’t even try to dodge. It simply stood there and let the slashes hit.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
One slash after another struck the crocodile.
