047. Ren Chi's Hobby

Anhan never expected it. Ren Chi—the counselor who always wore a gentle smile yet radiated quiet depth and clearly wasn’t someone to provoke—was not only an anime fan, but damn it, a cross-dresser too!

He pointed at the women’s clothing tucked in the corner, expression flickering with curiosity and excitement.

So we’re kindred spirits! No wonder Ren Chi wanted to move out of the dorm—a rental apartment would better protect his privacy.

No wonder he asked me to help move… and covered for me when I hid my cross-dressing clothes under the blanket back then…

Wait. How am *I* his kindred spirit? He’s a genuine cross-dresser. I was forced into it!

“These belong to my girlfriend,” Ren Chi stated calmly, tone stern. “Don’t make baseless accusations against your counselor, or I’ll make things difficult for you.”

Anhan studied Ren Chi’s upright, utterly composed expression and began doubting himself.

Such a confident, resolute reply—zero guilt in his eyes. Solid proof… Ren Chi was an experienced cross-dresser.

He showed not a trace of shame at the thought of exposure.

…Could they *actually* be his girlfriend’s clothes?

“I see…” Anhan muttered. “You called me to help move but didn’t even pack first.”

“Two people pack faster.”

Ren Chi pulled a large suitcase from the wardrobe. “I’ll handle the clothes. You pack my other stuff. Boxes are over there.”

He gestured to the corner. Anhan turned—stacks of flattened cardboard boxes.

“Transparent tape’s on the desk.”

“The workload just mysteriously doubled.”

He’d thought it’d be a quick carry-job. But with Ren Chi’s room cluttered like this, a few boxes and trips wouldn’t cut it.

This was Anhan’s first truly unguarded interaction with a teacher.

He’d always been respectful—maybe even a little intimidated—by elders. Yet with Ren Chi? Felt like hanging with a friend.

Probably ’cause they shared the same anime taste… and cross-dressing habits.

After reassembling a box and sealing the seams with tape, Anhan looked up. “Teacher, this box’s just for notebooks and books, right?”

“Do I have that many books?”

Anhan opened the desk cabinet. “Yep! A full Naruto set—and Dragon Ball too.”

The manga looked vintage. He flipped one open: older than him. Mostly 90s single volumes, pristine condition—definitely collector’s items today.

“Aren’t you only a few years older? These are from the 90s.”

“Left by my older brother,” Ren Chi said while packing clothes. “Pestered him for them as a kid.”

“Oh~”

Ren Chi turned—and froze. His student sat on the floor in a “duck sit,” calves folded outward in a V, intently reading manga.

Ren Chi’s lips twitched. How could a guy sit like that so naturally?

“The floor’s dirty.”

“Eh, I’m a guy.”

*Look at you now—where’s the manliness?*

Forget the posture. Just the profile—head bent, hair strands brushing his cheek—looked unmistakably feminine.

Before, Anhan just seemed delicate. Now? Like he carried a girl’s heart.

Ren Chi felt something was off… yet those feminine mannerisms fit him *too* harmoniously.

He cleared his throat, boss-mode activated: “Get up and work! Why’re you sitting again?”

“What’s the rush?” Anhan reluctantly placed the yellowed manga in the box, then flashed a radiant smile. “Bro Ren~”

“Don’t even ask. Not lending it.”

Ren Chi knew *exactly* what he wanted the second “Bro Ren” left his lips.

“Tch. Stingy. *I’m* the one helping you move!”

Anhan sprang up, oblivious to his own gracefulness, grumbling as he packed: “Legs ache from last night’s run, now squatting to pack for you—and you won’t even lend a manga? So stingy.”

If these were Wu Dongming’s comics, he’d snatch and bolt. Too bad they’re the counselor’s.

Ren Chi ignored him completely.

“If I tell classmates about your cross-dressing… everyone’ll wanna see you in women’s clothes…”

Ren Chi snapped, glaring. “You talk—I talk too!”

They locked eyes. Then Anhan cracked first, clutching his stomach laughing. “Teacher… you’re so childish.”

“Show some respect!”

“Fine, I won’t look.”

Anhan noticed how precious those manga were to Ren Chi. He dropped it and packed quietly.

Hours later: three stuffed boxes, two suitcases, several backpacks—Ren Chi’s belongings fully packed.

Anhan tried lifting a box. Packed solid. After multiple tries, he barely slid it two meters.

“Your physique is really lacking.”

“No handles!” Anhan complained, taping a makeshift handle. Still couldn’t lift it.

*Sigh.* Resigned.

He’d never been strong—too slender. Now his body looked healthier… but softer, too. Did that weaken him?

…Though honestly, he couldn’t have lifted it before either.

Ren Chi stepped up, hefted a box with effort. “You take the suitcases.”

“Okay.”

“What’s your new place like?” Anhan asked, pulling a suitcase from the dorm, curiosity bubbling. “Rent near campus cost much?”

“Two-bedroom, one-living-room. A little over a thousand.”

“Huh… pretty cheap…”

Anhan smirked inwardly. *Bet he moved out just to cross-dress more freely.*
