The early morning light spilled into the dark dorm room. It spread across the tiled floor, reflecting in streaks that were a little harsh on the eyes.
On the top bunk of the metal bed to the right, An Han turned over. He clutched the blanket and pillow under him like an octopus.
Half asleep, he suddenly felt a faint prick of pain in his chest.
He half-opened his eyes and flopped fully onto the bed.
The stinging sensation grew a little stronger.
“Did... a mosquito bite me?”
“Got a pimple?”
His voice was slurred with sleep. He lifted his head and glanced at his roommate on the other bed.
Still early.
Brother Long usually got up at six-thirty. So as long as he wasn’t awake yet, An Han could keep sleeping with a clear conscience.
And if Brother Long overslept and made An Han late for class, then at least there’d be someone to blame.
He rolled over again and lay flat on his back. Eyes closed, yawning, he shoved a hand straight into his shirt and scratched hard a few times.
So it really was a pimple.
Actually, two.
Hm? Hm?!
His brain snapped awake. An Han pushed himself up and sat bolt upright. He looked down at the two points on his chest, clearly visible even through his shirt.
Then he hesitated and gently pressed one.
It hurt. It felt a little swollen, and there seemed to be something hard inside.
If this were really a pimple, An Han would’ve already been getting ready to prick it with a needle. The problem was, this sure as hell wasn’t a pimple!
His head felt a little dizzy. He couldn’t make sense of what was going on.
“Need to look this up online.”
An Han grabbed his phone in a panic and searched it on Baidu.
He’d thought Doctor Baidu would give him some terminal illness diagnosis. Reality turned out even more absurd than he’d imagined.
“Puberty development, perfectly normal?”
But I’m a freaking guy!
Normal my ass!
Sure, nobody had ever said boys absolutely couldn’t develop there, but An Han still felt this answer was ridiculous.
Baidu really was unreliable.
He was trying hard to convince himself. But when he thought back to the system’s tasks about seducing men, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he’d been set up.
Don’t tell me I’m actually developing?
After all that fussing around, his sleepiness was long gone. He climbed down from the bed on tiptoe and ran to the mirror by the wardrobe.
An Han’s pajamas were just an oversized white shirt. He only had underwear on underneath, but it was covered by the shirt. From below the hem stretched a pair of straight legs, making it look like he wasn’t wearing anything at all.
Even though his physique stat had only gone up by one point, after just one night, An Han realized his figure looked noticeably more balanced than it had during last night’s shower.
And easier on the eyes too.
He used to be so skinny you could call him a scrawny stick. Now, he seemed to have reached a normal weight.
“So stat points don’t max out the effect the moment you add them?” An Han muttered as he studied himself in the mirror, scratching his messy hair. “At this rate, if I get a few more physique points, I’m gonna end up with an eight-pack, right?”
He paused, completely baffled. “But developing? Why am I getting more and more freaked out...”
Other than the pimple-like things on his chest, everything seemed to be moving in a good direction. But this one issue kept bothering him.
So much that he started suspecting the system’s physique stat might be developing him toward a female figure.
That was way too terrifying.
He tried his best not to think in that direction and shoved the horrible guess to the back of his mind.
What bad intentions could a system possibly have? It couldn’t be trying to raise me as a girl, right?
He was still trying to talk himself into it when Long Xing’s voice came from the top bunk.
“Xiao Han, up this early?”
Without turning around, An Han answered, “Went to the bathroom and couldn’t fall back asleep. What time is it?”
“Seven.”
“Then class is coming up soon too.” He stretched and yawned repeatedly as he headed for the balcony.
Long Xing watched An Han’s back. Even under the oversized shirt, he instinctively felt An Han’s shoulders seemed a little narrower than before. His back was even graceful enough to be called elegant.
Then his gaze drifted, against his will, to the long legs extending from beneath the white shirt.
Maybe because he’d never really paid special attention to An Han’s looks or figure before, he suddenly felt that if An Han put on stockings, he probably wouldn’t look any worse than the girl he’d run into that night.
“An Han, did you gain weight?”
An Han turned around and saw that Long Xing had already climbed down from bed and was leaning over to look toward the balcony.
“Yeah, a little, I guess?”
“A little?”
Long Xing was utterly confused. How did “a little weight gain” somehow turn into giving off crossdressing pretty-boy vibes?
Still, he complimented An Han, “You look better than before.”
“Right?!”
An Han instantly beamed. He threw away all the little worries from earlier and happily went back to brushing his teeth.
Even if there were signs that looked suspiciously like development, the changes in his body were still pretty good overall. At least he really had gotten a lot more handsome.
Maybe the development was because he’d eaten something he shouldn’t have. Or maybe it was just a side effect from his body changing too drastically.
He just didn’t know if it could do something about his cripple-tier height too.
He wasn’t asking for much. One meter seventy-five would be enough.
Looks like from now on, he couldn’t just focus on the tasks with the best rewards.
He gargled and spat out the foam in his mouth. When he turned his head, he saw Long Xing already standing beside him, looking him over with a slightly strange expression.
“Brother Long, why are you staring at me?” An Han wiped the corner of his mouth in confusion, thinking maybe he still had toothpaste foam on his face.
Long Xing shook his head, like he wanted to say something but stopped himself. “It just feels like you... that girl wouldn’t actually be you in girls’ clothes, would she?”
“How could that be?” An Han laughed lightly as he wiped his face with a towel. “Don’t let Chen Junjie brainwash you. That guy’s doing it on purpose.”
Yesterday, Long Xing had thought the same thing. But today, looking at An Han’s figure, he suddenly felt Chen Junjie’s theory was actually pretty convincing.
“Mm.”
An Han could still feel Long Xing’s gaze, now full of suspicion, and it made him even more anxious.
What the hell am I supposed to do now...
On the surface, he kept acting relaxed. But inwardly, he’d already cursed Wu Dongming and Chen Junjie’s ancestors for eighteen generations straight.
An Han stepped aside to make room for Long Xing at the sink. He lowered his head and washed his towel as if nothing was wrong, but he still couldn’t figure out why Long Xing had started suspecting him today.
Did I let something slip somewhere?
Logically, only Wu Dongming and Su Peng knew about his crossdressing. One of them needed his help, so he wouldn’t dare say anything. The other had decent character, was on pretty good terms with him, and had no reason to tell anyone.
An Han felt a powerful sense of crisis!
He instinctively turned to look at Long Xing beside him, only to see Long Xing suddenly lower his head, as if deliberately avoiding his gaze.
Can’t wait any longer! I have to find a way to deal with this!
His sense of danger instantly shot through the roof. With a determined look, An Han headed back into the dorm room.
So what if I have to crossdress one more time?!
At the very least, he had to make Long Xing believe there really was someone like that at school!
Long Xing watched An Han’s departing back and let out a sigh of relief.
Good thing he hadn’t been caught staring at his roommate’s legs.
But right after that, he scratched his head with his toothbrush in his mouth and muttered to himself in confusion,
“Could it be that Chen Junjie kept saying An Han’s a crossdressing pretty boy, so now I’m the one who keeps thinking he looks like a girl?”
