Some things are better said now, especially about people saying the plot feels familiar.

A couple years ago, there was a stretch when I found web xuanhuan novels really boring. So I read a few horror novels to kill time. Yin-Yang Agent, Horror Cinema, and so on... After that, I got tired of the whole "ghost chases the protagonist and tries to kill him" routine. So I started wondering if I could write a supernatural story where the protagonist chases ghosts down and kills them instead. Later, I read Ghost Wife and My Wife Is the Ghost King, and my idea shifted. I wanted the protagonist to have an especially powerful ghost wife. Then the plot would be that he gets a supernatural system, takes on all kinds of paranormal incidents or missions through it, kind of like Evil Spirits Kingdom or Hell Cinema. But the biggest difference would be this: under his wife's protection, the protagonist slaughters his way through everything. In plain terms, he'd be living off his wife.

But even after I had that idea, I never wrote it. I felt it would be more popular on ACG-oriented platforms like SF or Huniang. Then I read My House of Horrors, and I thought, a malevolent ghost wife who wants to kill the protagonist— isn't that basically a yandere? If you add an overpowered protagonist, a harem, love-rival chaos, and girls making the first move, it should fit SF pretty well.

I admit this book resembles My House of Horrors, so it gives people a sense of déjà vu, because I did get some ideas from it: a Crimson Robe ghost wife, and a protagonist who hunts ghosts down and beats them senseless. But the plot is definitely different. You can go check it out yourselves. By now, Horror House should have been renamed My House of Horrors. If you find the plots are the same, you can come at me directly. As for My Girlfriend Is Full of Malevolent Ghosts, I came across that one some time ago. Back when I was planning this book's opening, I wanted to write a scene where someone summons a ghost, and then the protagonist's wife kills it. I thought the apple-peeling bit could work, but after writing it, I felt it might cause trouble. So I looked up Bloody Mary summoning and the Ten Ways to See Ghosts, and changed it to combing hair at midnight instead. I admit these books belong to the same type. It's like infinite flow stories or broken-engagement stories— they almost all share similar core hooks. But the plot and setting are absolutely different. For example, my system is more like a chat app, and the person on the other side will later have a major connection to the protagonist. Also, this book is a harem story. In the future, even more ghost girls will be climbing into the protagonist's bed.
