"The medicine time… medicine time… medicine time…" The voice echoed endlessly down the pitch-black corridor. Dr Chen tossed his glow stick toward the source—but saw nothing.
"I’m not Wu Dalang—why should I take medicine?"
Click-clack, click-clack… The sharp rhythm of high heels tapped steadily closer.
*Must be a nurse-turned-ghost*, Dr Chen thought, *repeating her pre-death routine: forcing medicine on patients.*
"Medicine… medicine…" The whisper crept nearer. He snapped another glow stick alight. Still—empty darkness.
"Ah… Aaaah… No medicine!" Terrified shrieks erupted from nearby wards. Ghostly silhouettes pressed against windowpanes, pounding wildly as if clawing to escape.
Then it hit him: every ward he’d passed held *her*.
Creak… All third-floor doors—except the electrotherapy room—swung open in unison.
At the corridor’s end, Dr Chen froze. A mirror image unfolded: a thigh sheathed in tattered white stockings stepped out. Then another. And another.
Same motion. Same leg. Same heels. Even the holes in the stockings matched perfectly.
Copy-paste perfection. Over a dozen identical nurse ghosts emerged, turned their heads as one, and locked eyes on Dr Chen.
A chill slithered down his spine.
"Are you *sure* this is Level One difficulty?"
*Could be an illusion… but damn.* The nearest ghost stood under three meters away. Only the electrotherapy room lay behind him—and he knew they were herding him there.
"Medicine time… medicine time…"
Chorused by a dozen voices, the words slithered through the gloom, thick with menace. Syringes rose. Identical steps advanced.
"She must’ve been stunning in life," Dr Chen muttered, forcing calm. "Decent figure, too."
*A flicker of fear.* He needed distraction. *Right—like Crazy Baby from CrossFire.*
Alluring curves barely covered by shredded nurse uniforms. Pale, bloodless skin. Faces still 90% human—except for those grotesquely oversized pupils. A dagger plunged dead-center into each chest. *Cause of death, huh.*
Whoosh!
The satchel at his waist wriggled violently. He unzipped it—
A shadow shot out, slamming into the nearest ghost.
Blood-red robes swept. The nurse crumpled inward, flattened into a two-dimensional smear. Then—black hair erupted like a blade storm. Whipping, slicing. Anything caught vanished into ribbons. In a blink, the corridor cleared. Only a blood-smeared path remained.
Slowly, the figure turned her head 180 degrees. Blood streamed from hollow eyes.
"W-Wife! I… I didn’t say *anything*! You misheard!"
Ice flooded his veins. *Run!*
He yanked the electrotherapy room door open and dove inside.
"Damn, damn, damn! Why’d I say she was hot?! Asking for death!"
Back pressed hard against the door, breath ragged, he scanned the room.
A standard hospital bed. A smoking, charred corpse. A masked doctor, cheerfully zapping it with electrodes. The doctor turned at the intrusion.
"What’re you staring at?" Dr Chen snapped. "Never been chased by your wife before?"
