“I’m heading out!”
After calling that to Feng Mingdong, Feng Yijiu left like a gust of wind.
Seeing that Yijiu was still dressed in her boyish style, Feng Mingdong actually felt more at ease.
He waved at her, then went back to handling his own business.
To him, there was no real difference between work and time off. Even at home, he had plenty of things to deal with.
By then, Feng Yijiu had already boarded the subway.
In her previous life, whenever she read novels, she’d always see wealthy young ladies traveling in one of two ways.
Either they had a private car and driver, or they went out with bodyguards. Some even traveled by helicopter.
Apparently, if they didn’t do that, their entire character setup would collapse.
Only now did Feng Yijiu realize how strange all that was.
Never mind that bodyguard companies were basically state-backed. In the magical Pearl River Delta, a man in flip-flops and a worn-out undershirt might easily be the hidden boss behind some major corporation.
Sometimes, taking the subway—or even walking—was more convenient than taking a car.
Maybe the only real difference lay in the size of their homes and certain details of daily life?
Feng Yijiu wasn’t entirely sure. From her perspective, though, the most obvious difference was probably that Feng Mingdong had always been rather generous with her allowance.
As for cars, watches, cigarettes, and alcohol, Feng Yijiu didn’t know much about this world’s brands.
Feng Mingdong’s car belonged to a common brand, somewhat like Volkswagen in her previous life.
Still, Feng Yijiu had to admit that the seats were genuinely comfortable.
Just as her thoughts began to drift, a subway train pulled into the station.
Whoosh—
A message appeared in the trio’s group chat.
Wenzhou (Zhou Wenyao): Where are you guys?
Maple: On the subway. Five stops away.
Zijing (Qingqing): I just got up. [Tongue Out]
Wenzhou: Smack.gif
Wenzhou: We’ll start without you, then. Qingqing, handle things yourself. @Zijing
Zijing: Teary-eyed.gif
Zijing: Ten minutes.
……
Feng Yijiu never expected Qingqing, who’d claimed she was still stuck in bed, to arrive first.
Meanwhile, she was only five subway stops away, yet she somehow ended up being the last of the three to arrive.
Though Zhou Wenyao had beaten her by barely half a step.
“Wow, Yijiu, you look so handsome today!”
Looking at Feng Yijiu in her black trench coat, looking especially cool, Zhou Wenyao exaggeratedly widened her beautiful eyes.
Then she opened her arms and approached like a delicate little bird seeking shelter.
The awkward part was that Zhou Wenyao was slightly taller than her.
Before they got close, Feng Yijiu hadn’t noticed. But once Zhou Wenyao hugged her, she suddenly felt like the one being protected.
Masculine aura -1 -1 -1……
“Coo-coo-coo…”
Qingqing burst into laughter like a pigeon.
Her phone, however, dutifully recorded this hilarious moment.
Feng Yijiu’s face flushed slightly. She quickly wriggled free of Zhou Wenyao’s embrace.
“Sigh. We’re supposed to be three people going out together. Why do I feel like the third wheel?”
Qingqing pouted as she looked at Zhou Wenyao standing shoulder to shoulder with Feng Yijiu.
“Really? I feel that way too.”
Zhou Wenyao leaned closer and examined Feng Yijiu’s outfit.
“Qingqing, don’t you think Yijiu’s eyes sometimes look a little like those boys’?”
“Mhm, mhm.”
Qingqing moved closer as well.
Unlike Zhou Wenyao, she was much more brazen. Before long, she was already putting her hands all over Feng Yijiu.
Perhaps that was simply how close female friends acted with each other.
But Feng Yijiu felt extremely uncomfortable. She hurriedly took half a step back, straightened her clothes, and cleared her throat twice.
“So, um… where are we going today?”
“YaoYao wants to buy two bras, and I want to pick out some clothes.”
Qingqing counted on her fingers. Then she suddenly let out a surprised little cry.
“YaoYao, did you notice? Yijiu actually has them now!”
Feng Yijiu was covered in black lines.
Anyone who didn’t know better might think she’d gotten pregnant and was carrying some little prince at her age.
Zhou Wenyao bent slightly at the waist and carefully examined Feng Yijiu’s chest.
Then she chuckled.
“Hehe. Qingqing, you’d better watch out. Yijiu might surpass you very soon.”
“Tch. So what if you have bigger breasts?”
Qingqing shot Zhou Wenyao a glance. Then she looked at her own flat chest, barely an A-cup, before turning her eyes to Feng Yijiu.
Feng Yijiu could only smile awkwardly.
Her feet felt as if countless ants were crawling over them. It made her skin crawl.
She’d thought they were just going out for a casual stroll. Maybe she could even find a chance to slack off a little.
But…
Why did it feel like she was walking straight into the Spider Demon’s Cave?
Feng Xuanzang Yijiu felt a chill run down her back.
At that moment, facing Feng Mingdong at home suddenly seemed much safer.
“By the way, Yijiu, is there anything you want to buy?”
Qingqing turned to look at her.
“N-no! Nothing. I only came out because I was a little bored at home.”
Seeing the look in Qingqing’s eyes, Feng Yijiu turned her head away.
I’m doomed. I’m so doomed…
Feng Yijiu felt like a live seafood dish laid out on a hot iron plate.
More accurately, she was a husky mixed into a pack of wolves.
She’d been doing her absolute best to act as if, “We’re all the same kind.”
But now, she felt like she couldn’t keep the act going any longer.
“Well, then let’s just browse around. Sometimes you remember what you want while you’re shopping.”
With a smile, Zhou Wenyao took Feng Yijiu’s hand.
So soft…
When Zhou Wenyao first took her hand, Feng Yijiu wasn’t used to it.
Her hand even instinctively pulled inward, as if she’d been shocked by electricity.
Zhou Wenyao looked at her in surprise.
“I-I’m dressed a little…”
Feng Yijiu realized she’d reacted strangely, but she still forced out an explanation.
“I don’t mind. Why should you?”
Zhou Wenyao laughed and quickly tightened her grip.
“Wow, Yijiu! How can your hands feel this good?!”
“Let me try! Let me try!”
Qingqing came over too and took Feng Yijiu’s other hand.
Now held on both sides and enjoying the full blessings of having two beautiful girls around her, Feng Yijiu’s legs began to tremble.
Their unusual trio—a “man” with two girls—also attracted plenty of attention from passersby.
Those strange looks made Feng Yijiu feel as if bugs were crawling all over her body.
For the first time, she actually felt an urge to put on women’s clothes for a while.
“Okay, okay. I won’t tease you anymore.”
Zhou Wenyao finally noticed how uncomfortable Feng Yijiu was.
She giggled, released Feng Yijiu’s hand, and hooked her arm around Qingqing’s.
“Well then… Mr. Feng, we’ll be counting on you to be our shared boyfriend today!”
Feng Yijiu quietly let out a breath of relief.
She knew Zhou Wenyao was only joking.
Still, if she was acting as their boyfriend, she might be able to freeload on those men-only chairs, right?
