...

Since it was still early and Liang Zhiming hadn’t stirred even after I finished all the appointment messages, I grew restless waiting in the dorm. Seeing Jiang Yuqing, Chen Xiaorui, and the others still asleep, I grabbed my cosplay outfit and makeup kit and ducked into the bathroom.

Hmph. It’s just wearing cosplay outside. I’ll pretend Xiangcao City’s hosting a comic-con today—and I’m just heading to the con.

Yep! Comic-con means cosplay is totally legit. Walk tall!

In the bathroom, I stripped, capped my hair, and turned on the shower.

The instant cold water hit my tender post-workout skin, I couldn’t help but shiver.

Eep…

Campus hot showers cost money.

I glanced at the hot water unit beside me—a card slot. Insert the hot water card, twist the knob, mix cold and hot to adjust temperature.

Like meal cards or purified water cards, you buy and recharge it at the canteen.

Most girls shower around twenty minutes; longer sessions exceed half an hour. Twenty minutes costs roughly 4–5 yuan; thirty? Definitely over 5.

So daily showers add up to over a hundred yuan a month.

Ridiculously expensive—but that’s monopoly life at a vocational college.

Mom’s allowance barely covers basics, so I never budgeted for this. The 10 yuan on my hot water card stays untouched, saved for deep winter when I can’t bear the cold anymore.

Speaking of which… girls’ bodies really are…

Once I adjusted to the chill, I lowered my head and gently cupped my chest.

From this angle, my thighs and tiny feet were completely hidden.

Even with Bi Xinxue’s full memories and a week living as a girl, staring at my own bare body still felt… a little awkward.

Mostly, I was stunned by her perfection.

Flawless fair skin. Peach-shaped curves. Silky-smooth contours.

Not a single blemish or stray hair. Pure as snow, tender as a newborn’s skin.

And since my guy memories still dominate, the sway of my chest in skirts and that oddly empty feeling between my legs make me blush a tiny bit.

Especially during last night’s volleyball game—every sprint sent everything bouncing. I kept thinking everyone was staring.

“Once I’ve got spare cash… I’ll buy better bras.”

After a quick rinse to wash off sweat, I dried off and smoothed on body lotion.

Only after becoming a girl did I learn this: unlike guys, girls apply lotion all over after showers or before heading out—moisturizing, softening skin.

Some even use hand cream, foot cream… to keep hands and feet extra pink and soft.

So skincare alone adds up monthly.

But I just use body lotion for everything—I’m no princess chasing trends. Happy and comfortable is enough.

Coated in light lavender-scented lotion, smelling fresh and clean, I slipped into my underwear and Rem cosplay.

Soft snow-white garter stockings. Elegant maid dress. Adorable round-toed maid shoes…

Honestly? This outfit isn’t worse than daily wear.

Long skirt—no flashing risk. Breathable, sweat-wicking fabric, gentle on skin. Garters keep stockings secure without fuss.

Only downside? Way too eye-catching.

Even with premium materials and comfort, the bold colors scream “look at me,” drawing stares and whispers on the street.

Also, I’m not big on contacts or wigs.

Contacts are fine, but wigs? Putting on, taking off, maintenance—it’s a hassle.

Rem’s wig even covers one eye. Took me ages to adjust to seeing with just one eye.

Thank goodness it’s autumn. If it were summer—30+°C outside, this outfit, a wig, velvet thermal thigh-highs? I’d pass out from heatstroke before meeting Liang Zhiming.

Dressed fully—stockings, sleeves, contacts, wig, snug maid shoes—I did a quick mirror touch-up: light foundation, subtle makeup. Then I stepped out of the dorm.

“Xiao… Wow, Xiao Xue!”

Jiang Yuqing, already at her desk, jolted upright, eyes sparkling. “You’re… selling douhua again?”

“Nope,” I waved quickly. “A client asked me to wear this for our date.”

“That client’s got taste.”

Noticing others still asleep, she leaned closer, eyes scanning my outfit. “So pretty… This is Rem, right?”

I blinked. “Class rep knows her too?”

“How could I not? I’m in the literature club—we’re partnered with the anime club. Those otaku guys chant ‘Rem is my wife!’ daily. Before her? Inori Yuzuriha, Shizuka Kasumigaoka, Kurumi Tokisaki, Megumi Kato… too many to count.”

Her gaze dropped to my eyes. “Blue!”

I tilted my head. “Weird?”

“No, no! Seriously gorgeous.” She sighed wistfully. “I wish I had your figure… No, half your looks would be enough… Ugh, I’m jealous.”

“Free hugs,” I offered, arms open.

“Ugh…” She buried her face in my chest without hesitation. “During freshman military training, I didn’t notice Xiao Xue was this… developed. Did you grow secretly?”

She lifted her head, puzzled. “Eh? Smells like new clothes… Didn’t wash it?”

“Bought it too late. Needs a full day to dry in this weather. Wore it straight out.”

“Must be tough…” Her voice softened. “This part-time job… those guys won’t try anything weird, right?”

“Usually not.” I shook my head. “I screen clients strictly—skip suspicious orders, avoid isolated spots.”

“Still, be careful. Lots of guys are… sketchy. Someone as pretty as you needs extra caution.”

She pointed to snack piles by the door. “If it gets hard, just help us sell snacks. Campus is safe—no one dares cause trouble.”

“No orders? I’ll definitely help.”

At my desk, I folded my street clothes, opened the cabinet, and packed a small shoulder bag.

The guy-girl gap shows most in “going out.”

Tech today: guys grab phone (maybe wallet + ID), shove in pocket, done.

Girls? Especially cosplay girls? Sunscreen, skincare, makeup—non-negotiable. Bathroom breaks need tissues even for quick stops. Period days? Pads every few hours. No pocket fits all that. Bag essential.

*Ding!*

My phone chimed—Hua Li Mao notification.

Liang Zhiming:

“Stayed up too late watching *Kaguya-sama: Love is War*, overslept 😅 Come here to change? I’ll walk you around the park nearby, treat you to breakfast. Plenty of restrooms here.”

“Xiao Xue? Still there?”

My inner scream:

Ugh! Say you’re treating me to breakfast *earlier*! I already ate!

“Yep, here,” I typed back after a pause.

“Um… I’ve already changed. Be there in ~30 mins.”

Then, feeling the reply needed more charm, I added:
