Su Yue lifted her wrist. The cute little bat bracelet dangled from her slender wrist, swaying gently as if *flutter-fluttering* its tiny wings.

“Let’s go. We still need to head to the Household Registration Department of the Enforcement Squad to get you registered,” Chen Yan said, holding an opaque plastic bag. Inside were the other two “collars”—actually chip loaders. The three loaders alone cost over 4,000 credits; with the chips, the total reached 5,000.

A familiar déjà vu washed over Su Yue—like getting glasses in another life: lenses costing a few hundred credits, frames running into the thousands. Luckily, her pseudo-myopia had been temporary. After a year of correction, her vision fully recovered, sparing her further expense.

“So… what do the other two chip loaders look like?” Su Yue’s big eyes blinked curiously.

“I said it’s a secret,” Chen Yan replied, tucking the bag behind his back with firm resolve.

“Hmph.” Su Yue pouted, putting on a pitiful Little Vampire face.

They stepped out of the elevator onto the first-floor service hall—when two towering figures, nearly six-foot-three each, suddenly blocked their path.

“It’s you!” One man jabbed a finger at Su Yue, voice booming in shock and fury.

“Y-you… who are you?” Startled, Su Yue stumbled back a few steps, bumping into the closed elevator doors.

“Damn it! You’ve already forgotten us?” the man snarled, fists clenched.

“Brother!”

“Little brother!”

“We are Night Patrol Team Three of the Enforcement Squad, Supernatural Investigation Bureau—champions of Love and Justice! Guardians of this city’s peace!”

“We shall never spare evil! O rogue vampire, daring to tread the Bureau’s headquarters—you must have accepted death’s call!”

Striking an absurdly dramatic pose, the two pointed at Su Yue as if flames roared behind them.

“You’re the Moonlit Duo! So *this* is what you look like,” Su Yue gasped. That night, their faces had been drowned in searchlight glare—she never got a clear look.

Realization hit. Su Yue tensed, clutching Chen Yan’s hand, eyes wide with panic. “What do we do? Run?”

“Why fear? You have legal status now,” Chen Yan sighed. Gently lifting her wrist, he displayed the bat bracelet to the duo. “Gentlemen, Su Yue is my domesticated Vampire Princess. This chip loader is her proof.”

“You?! The hunter who saved this mongrel vampire! You’re in cahoots!” the older brother roared, recognizing Chen Yan.

“Was I really that invisible?” Chen Yan muttered. He’d stood right beside her the whole time.

“You knocked us out that night! Freed a wild supernatural! Traitor to humanity!” the younger brother snarled.

“She’s *mine*. We’re here to register her. When did I knock you out? Show evidence,” Chen Yan spread his hands, expression innocent.

“No evidence…”

Silence fell. The park cameras had failed that night—later traced to the supervisor’s embezzlement: broken second-hand units. No footage existed. Battle traces remained, but no proof. And one cannot testify for oneself.

“Damn… was this part of your scheme too?”

Chen Yan chuckled lightly, taking Su Yue’s hand. “Since all’s clear, please step aside. We have business.”

“Wait!” The older brother raised a hand. “She’s a wild supernatural infiltrator—how could she have a legitimate purchase record?”

“Verify with Counter No. 6 staff. Or call the Hunter Guild. Ask if I auctioned the Vampire Princess ‘Su Yue’,” Chen Yan said calmly.

“Brother, watch them. I’ll check.”

“Understood.”

He rushed to Window No. 6, pointed at them. The clerk showed documents. Moments later, he returned, face grim.

“Brother…?” the younger asked hesitantly.

“The agreement is flawless. Seals are genuine.” He paused. “I’ll call the Hunter Guild.”

Phone to ear: “Agent of the Supernatural Investigation Bureau, ID XXXXXXXX. Check recent Bloodkin transactions.”

“Su Yue? Silver-haired. Buyer: Chen Yan. Price: 60 million credits? Noted. Thank you.” He hung up, ashen.

“Brother…?”

“Let them go,” he muttered darkly.

“Enjoy your victory… I *will* find your flaw, traitor!”

“Slander carries consequences. I might report you for defamation to the Enforcement Squad. Come, Su Yue.” Chen Yan smiled faintly, guiding her through the gap and out the hall doors.

“Brother… just like that?”

“No choice—their papers are perfect. But this Bloodkin hides something. We’ll recheck the files. There’s a flaw.”

Chen Yan drove smoothly through midday streets, skyscrapers gliding past.

“They won’t give up,” Su Yue murmured, cheek pressed to the window.

“We’ll handle it. Hungry? To celebrate Miss Su Yue’s legal status—lunch on me?”

“Eh~ I’m not even registered yet,” she giggled.

“Malls don’t require registration—just phone cards. Lunch first, buy a phone, then register and get a SIM this afternoon,” he outlined.

“You’ve spent so much… I can’t repay you,” she mumbled, half her face buried in her arm.

“I’ve already spent over 60 million. What’s a little more?” He grinned at the wheel. “Miss Su Yue’s Celestial Arts Tools Company will earn fortunes. Consider it my investment.”

At “investment,” her eyes sparkled.

“The talismans you bought? All sold! Made over 2,000 credits!”

“Wow! Materials cost under 700 credits—that’s over 200% profit!” Chen Yan praised aloud, inwardly chuckling. *She’s pricing them too low. At market rate, she’d hit 60 million fast.*

“Right? Hehe! Lunch is *my* treat today!” Su Yue beamed, utterly unable to resist praise.
