Su Yue sat obediently on Chen Yan’s lap, her back stiffly straight with nervous tension. Chen Yan sighed inwardly and gently pressed down on her head, easing her posture just a little.

"Don’t sit so straight. You’re blocking my view."

"I…"

"Hello, sir. What service can I assist you with today?" the staff behind the counter spoke up just as Su Yue was about to reply.

"Here to register her—get her officially documented," Chen Yan said, handing over the prepared purchase agreement.

"Certainly. Please wait a moment."

The staff scanned the document into the system, then carefully read the physical copy word for word. Such files demanded thorough verification.

Watching the staff’s focused expression, Su Yue felt a trace of worry.

"Hey," she whispered, leaning close to Chen Yan’s ear, voice barely audible, "they won’t spot the forgery, will they?"

Chen Yan cupped a hand around them, murmuring back, "I spent a fortune on this. It’s solid. If anything goes wrong, I’ll grab you and run."

"That doesn’t sound reliable at all," Su Yue muttered under her breath.

"All set, sir. The agreement checks out," the staff said, handing Chen Yan a slip. "Take this to the examination room on the second floor. Scan the QR code to pay."

"Thanks." Chen Yan took the slip, patted Su Yue’s shoulder. She promptly hopped off his lap, standing aside with a quiet sigh of relief.

He stood, scanned the code. Su Yue tiptoed curiously to peek—*3,000 for a basic physical?*

"So expensive!" she grumbled inwardly. "No wonder… pet institutions always charge more than human clinics."

Noticing her gaze, Chen Yan smiled gently. "Once your registration’s done, I’ll get you a SIM card—and a phone."

"Oh," Su Yue nodded obediently. She *was* curious about mobile payment; the tech existed in her past life, but rarely used.

"Let’s go."

He led her into the elevator up to the second floor.

The examination center was a sealed white space, windowless, humming with ventilation fans.

"Here for the young lady’s check-up?" A Horned woman in a white coat approached as Chen Yan looked for the counter.

*Rare for a non-human to earn a medical license,* Chen Yan thought. High-income fields here were deeply biased against other races.

"Yes," he replied, handing the slip with newfound respect.

The Horned doctor glanced at it, then beckoned Su Yue warmly. "Su Yue? Come along. Just a basic physical."

At the "Examination Room" door, she paused. "Master, please wait outside. You and your Vampire Princess are of opposite genders."

Su Yue turned to Chen Yan, eyes pleading. Within the Paranormal Bureau, he was her only anchor.

"I’ll be right here," he said with a reassuring smile.

Reluctantly, she stepped inside alone. Leaning against the doorframe, the Horned doctor chuckled. "Well-trained. She’s quite attached to you."

"Somewhat," Chen Yan said awkwardly. Her clinginess came from the fear buff of this place—normally, she was sweet yet feisty.

"Take good care of her," the doctor added meaningfully before closing the door.

Inside, Su Yue stood stiffly.

"Undress." The doctor flicked the form.

"?"

Su Yue flinched, staring in disbelief.

"What’s that look?" the doctor shuddered. "Physicals require undressing! You’re not misunderstanding me… like *that shady guy* from back then, right?"

Su Yue hesitated. First meeting… undressing? But the woman radiated mature elegance, her white coat hinting at a confident, curvy figure.

*If something happens, I’ll scream. If Chen Yan doesn’t hear… well, endure life’s… ahem, its torments.*

She gritted her teeth and began—

"Whoa! Little sister, *underwear stays on!*"

Moments later, Su Yue fled the room, face crimson, darting behind Chen Yan.

The Horned doctor followed, smiling. A meaningful glance made the Little Vampire blush deeper. She handed Chen Yan the slip.

"Take this to the third floor for her identity chip. Cute-style underwear? Good choice—perfect for this little Bloodkin sister."

"Cute-style?" Chen Yan glanced back. Su Yue shyly turned away.

*Seems they had a heartwarming chat in there.*

"Hurry now—thirty minutes till closing," the doctor urged kindly.

"Come on, Su Yue." Chen Yan took her hand, jogging toward the elevator.

The doctor watched them go, smiling softly, memories of her own youth with her master drifting back…

Inside the elevator, Chen Yan frowned at the slip. "161 cm, 42 kg… too light."

*Mental note: three balanced meals daily. Step up the feeding.*

*Ding~* Third floor.

The floor was hushed, lined with boutique-style counters.

Chen Yan approached a staff member typing furiously. "Here to register a non-human family member."

Without looking up, she waved a hand. He handed the slip. She snatched it back and typed like a pianist.

"Pick a chip holder—collar style. Hurry. Closing soon."

Su Yue browsed the displays: pet collars, chokers, pendants, leg rings…

*No pets. No leg rings. Too weird.*

Her eyes lit up. "This!"

A black bat-shaped bracelet—chubby little bat, round red eyes, utterly adorable.

"Nice choice. Suits you," Chen Yan nodded.

"Hmph~" Su Yue hummed happily. After eliminating the odd ones, this was perfect.

Chen Yan returned to the counter. "Three: 4763, 1233, 6741."

"Eh? Why three? I only like that one," Su Yue tugged his sleeve.

"In case you lose one. Match your outfits."

"Okay… what are the others?"

"It’s a secret."
