Su Hong chewed his meal slowly and deliberately. Simple as it was, it wasn’t exactly unpleasant.
As for the portion size—just as Dish Hand had warned—one plate alone wouldn’t fill anyone up. Fortunately, over a dozen plates were stacked by the door…
After everyone watched Su Hong eat his fill, the neighboring Dish Hand finally snapped. He dropped all pretense of mockery and spoke in a hushed, trembling voice:
“I was too arrogant. I apologize. Please… just one portion. And take me with you when you escape. I swear I’ll obey you, serve you faithfully. Is that acceptable?”
Though Dish Hand had lowered his voice intentionally, in the prison’s heavy silence, every word cut through clearly—aside from the faint gurgling of hungry stomachs.
“Escape? Who said I’d escape? I absolutely will not!”
Su Hong’s words left everyone utterly baffled. Why reject such a perfect chance?
In a huff, he kicked the keys aside and stomped back to the wall, leaning against it.
*Creak.* A hairline crack snaked across the surface. Just as Su Hong turned his head in confusion—*CRASH!*—a gaping hole burst open, perfectly sized for him to step through.
Moonlight flooded in through the rubble. No one saw how it happened in the dim night—only heard the thunderous boom.
“GYAAA!!”
Dish Hand shrieked, clutching his head. But once he saw the hole, he curled tighter into the corner, trembling violently.
*This guy…!* Rumors said powerful Spirit Cardmasters were fearsome even barehanded—but to punch straight through stone?! No wonder he didn’t flee. He could leave anytime. No one could stop him. A demon wearing a boy’s skin! How had he dared bully him earlier? That slap in the casino was mercy itself!
Dish Hand shook uncontrollably. Su Hong merely rubbed his forehead, teeth gritted in annoyance.
“What shoddy cell is this? How is this supposed to hold prisoners?!”
“I’m not leaving! Even if the whole place collapses—I’m staying!”
Huffing, he turned from the hole and flopped onto his bed.
The cell didn’t collapse—but the next morning, the warden’s face was grimmer than if it had.
Gurgling stomachs echoed. The night guard lay unconscious. A stack of plates sat neatly outside the bars. To any eye: assault.
The warden stormed closer, rage cooling into unease. Black Casino thugs never stayed quiet without a beating. Yet now—deathly silent. Their boss huddled in a corner, bruised eyes wide with terror.
A chill gripped the warden. Only one other prisoner was here—the mysterious boy Lia had flagged as dangerous.
His gaze shifted left. Pupils shrank.
Keys lay neatly on the floor. A man-sized hole gaped in the wall.
*Impossible!* No tools. No Spirit Cards. How?!
Yet the boy—Su Hong—slept peacefully on his cot.
*No wonder they’re silent… afraid to wake him?*
Just then, Su Hong stretched awake. Spotting the warden at the bars, he sat up.
“Morning. You the guard? That guy fainted yesterday—please take him to rest. Also, fix this wall. And—”
He slipped on slippers, smoothed his uniform, picked up the keys, and handed them through the bars.
“Next time, keep the keys on your waist. Safer.”
The warden froze. *Taunting?* No—reproach! With this power, he could’ve shattered the entire station. He stayed *on purpose*.
*Heavens… What untouchable did Lia drag in?!*
Must appease him. Send him off gently. Or those hands would reduce this place to dust.
Forcing a smile, the warden accepted the keys—then fumbled. The application form tumbled out.
“Damn!” He snatched it up, hiding it against his chest.
*City Lord’s order: detain Su Hong seven more days.* But now? Apologize. Release. *Immediately.*
Too late. Su Hong’s eyes narrowed.
“Wait… was that my detention order? *Continued detention?!*” He gripped the bars, eyes lighting up. “Yes! Finally! Persistence beats bad luck!”
Before joy settled, the warden recoiled. “No! Misread! You’re acquitted!”
“What? Show me that paper!”
*RRRIP!* The warden tore the form to shreds, then bowed deeply under stunned stares. “Our deepest apologies! We release you at once!”
Su Hong glared at the confetti of paper, jaw tight. “Impossible! I saw it! Are you Lady Luck’s spy?! I don’t care—I’m staying! Try kicking me out!”
Sweat beaded the warden’s brow. *He’s furious over the order… Just comply. Pamper him. Wait.*
He kicked the groggy guard awake. Leaning close, voice a venomous whisper:
“Fool! Rush breakfast, fruit, desserts for Lord Su Hong! And clothes—custom-tailored from the town’s finest!”
