Chapter 48: I'm Absolutely Not Your Fath

"Starburst, just now that..."

Sebastian was in tears. He felt so relieved that when he'd told Lin Zhong to go all out, it was only the Flower Dance Thousand Soul Slay. Even Haidou hadn't touched him—just passing by had knocked him out cold.

If it had been this Starburst instead, everyone here, including the spectators, would've been obliterated without a trace. This strike's power far exceeded a single Flower Dance Thousand Soul Slay, almost transcending the realm of a mere Forbidden Spell.

But Supernatural Abilities drained physical stamina, which could only recover slowly. Alice, however, could spam Forbidden Spells endlessly with enough mana. Even if low now, she still had recovery capsules.

Starburst's immense power came with drawbacks: slow casting speed and the need to fully immobilize the target first.

Against truly terrifying Monsters, Lin Zhong's ice walls wouldn't help much. His ice trapped foes with natural elements, not spatial isolation.

After using Starburst, he'd be left severely weakened. A miss would hand victory to enemies on a silver platter.

Opponents wouldn't just stand still waiting to explode. Yet they were disappointed—Lin Zhong's Starburst cast faster than expected. Without needing escape time like against Snow White...

Its casting time was much quicker than Alice's full Forbidden Spell chant.

"But why is Snow White like this..."

Charlotte noticed Snow White's oddity first. After all, he'd just been carried on her back while fleeing.

Snow White's giant form should've been a massive Werewolf. This was merely a wolf twice a lion's size.

More like the grown-up version of that little white wolf pup than a true Werewolf.

"A Werewolf is both wolf and human~ This might be its normal size. But staying small makes it easier to curl up on me."

Lin Zhong smiled, gently leaning against Snow White. Her snow-white fur felt incredibly soft and comforting.

"Werewolves only transform under moonlight at night, right? But Snow White seems purely wolf-like."

Ordinary wolves and Werewolves shared no real link. Legends said humans became Werewolves only on full moons.

Snow White defied that—shrinking only to a pup, never human. Aester had wondered but never asked.

Seeing her giant wolf form now, he finally questioned it. As the first biological item, curiosity was inevitable.

"Who knows? She might even turn human."

"Hmm, Dad~"

A soft, childlike voice followed Lin Zhong's words—sweet as a toddler's.

But who'd say that here?

Lin Zhong pulled away from Snow White and collapsed to the ground.

A little girl stood before him. About five years old, her long white hair brushed the floor. Beautiful red eyes smiled warmly.

Her cute face beamed, beast ears twitching slightly above her white dress. A fluffy white tail peeked out behind her.

"Huh!? HUH!!!!!!!"

Lin Zhong froze. Aester froze. Everyone stared in shock.

She could really become human!?

And she called Lin Zhong Dad? Aester studied her closely: silver-white hair, crimson eyes, a fairy-like face almost identical to Lin Zhong's.

"Huh!? She's not actually your daughter, is she!!!!"

Without the beast ears, they looked like twins. Denying fatherhood seemed impossible.

Werewolf... could this mean...

"Eek~"

Aester stumbled back two steps, eyeing Lin Zhong with mock fear from across the room.

"I'm not your dad!!!"

Lin Zhong scrambled upright, but Snow White hugged him tight, nuzzling his cheek with her small face.

"Darling, care to explain?"

Su Han raised her gun. Her usual bright smile—always making Lin Zhong's hairs stand on end—was gone, replaced by a ghostly glare.

Snow White turned, saw Su Han's face, and showed no fear. Still beaming innocently, she leaped into Su Han's arms.

"Mommy~"

"Clatter!"

Su Han's golden pistol hit the ground as she embraced Snow White.

That sweet "Mommy" pierced Su Han's heart. Her grim expression melted into a tender smile.

"That's right, I'm Mommy."

She cradled Snow White's light, fluffy body gently.

"Um... are you secretly a Werewolf who had a child with Su Han? Then passed it off as your Dungeon Instance reward to trick us?"

Aester meant it. Unbelievable as it was, nothing else fit. Snow White mirrored Lin Zhong too perfectly—in hair, eyes, and features.

Denying parentage felt absurd.

"Really, Lin Zhong?"

Alice tugged his sleeve, eyes pleading.

"Impossible! You were with me when we cleared that Dungeon Instance!"

Lin Zhong nearly lost his mind. What was happening? Why had Snow White turned into a girl calling him Dad?

He knew she was the Instance reward—his phone had confirmed it. He'd never seen this white wolf or girl before.

Yet Snow White's innocent charm had already won everyone over.

Even stern Sebastian wanted to hug her.

But Su Han wouldn't allow it. She'd already claimed Snow White as her and Lin Zhong's child.

The resemblance was uncanny. Having grown up with Lin Zhong, Su Han recognized his childhood features. Only now, Snow White was truly a little girl.

"Come, Mommy will carry you. Let's wrap this up and head home."

"Okay!"
