"We just need to wait here for school to let out," Lü Xiaodao said expressionlessly as he snapped the wooden chopsticks in his hand.

This look was incredibly cool—like a blade-wielding warrior from the movies—radiating a sharp, icy aura.

But just as Lü Xiaodao soaked in this cool persona, the snack shop owner charged over, fuming. He slammed his palm on the table, making both jump.

"Brat! If I catch you breaking my chopsticks again, I’ll kill you with a cleaver!" the owner growled, his face dark.

After cursing a few times, he left. Lü Xiaodao was left deeply embarrassed. His carefully crafted icy, iron-blooded image was utterly ruined.

Xiao Zhang’s mouth twitched slightly as he looked away from the small mountain of broken chopstick corpses on the table. No wonder the owner was furious. Any shopkeeper would hate a customer idly snapping chopsticks.

They waited a few hours.

Finally, the dismissal bell for Sacred Heart Academy’s junior high section rang out. Its crisp chime struck their hearts like a drumbeat, instantly revitalizing them.

"School’s finally out," Lü Xiaodao sighed in relief. His eyes then blazed with fervor as he stared intently at the academy gates.

"Brother Dao… mind the attention," Xiao Zhang said helplessly, patting his shoulder.

Lü Xiaodao snapped back to reality. He sensed nearby gazes scrutinizing him like trash.

"People these days…"

"Morals are declining. Weren’t those perverts ogling middle school girls arrested days ago? And now more show up?"

"We should report this to the police…"

With his Awakened hearing, Lü Xiaodao caught every whisper. His face flushed crimson. He grabbed his bundle and fled the shop in utter embarrassment.

Xiao Zhang tried to follow but was yanked back at the door. A cleaver pressed against his neck. "Damn it! I knew you two were trouble! Trying to dine and dash? Do you know where I used to run?" The owner lifted his shirt, revealing a belly doodle: "Daddy is a big dummy."

"Damn, wrong one," the owner muttered, face reddening. He’d forgotten his old tattoo was gone—this was drawn by his daughter yesterday.

Xiao Zhang bit back a laugh, glancing at Lü Xiaodao’s retreating figure. "Sorry, boss. Didn’t mean to skip payment. Here’s cash." He shoved a wad of bills into the owner’s hand, wriggled free, and ran off without waiting for change.

The owner stood rubbing his bald head, clutching the cash. He watched them vanish with a gloomy frown. "What the hell? Do rich folks play like this now?"

They stopped over ten meters from Sacred Heart Academy’s gate. Lü Xiaodao glanced back nervously at the snack shop. Seeing no one, he relaxed slightly.

He realized he wasn’t a real pervert ogling girls in light skirts. His earlier actions had branded him as one. His already bruised face turned ashen.

"That damn dog caused all this," Lü Xiaodao ground his teeth audibly, shooting terrifying glares at the academy gates.

"Brother Dao, don’t stare so openly! You’ll attract the Enforcement Team!" Xiao Zhang rushed over, stopping him.

Last time, the pervert who ogled girls’ legs at this gate was still undergoing special re-education in prison. Just recalling that intel sent a shiver down Xiao Zhang’s spine.

They hadn’t stormed the academy because it was under the Awakened Association’s key protection.

"Fear? We’re not perverts—we’re catching a dog. Even if enforcers come, I’ve a clear conscience," Lü Xiaodao declared.

"...Brother Dao, catching dogs is still illegal. Be careful," Xiao Zhang sighed.

Lü Xiaodao snorted but lowered his gaze. He pulled out a tracker. His eyes lit up. "Get ready. That dumb dog’s coming out!"

The tracker showed a dot slowly approaching the gate.

"Coco, be my girlfriend!"

"I truly love you! My love is as sacred and great as the sun!" A chubby boy trotted behind Coco, voice dripping with sincerity.

"Huang Xiaopang!!" Coco nearly screamed. "I’ve said it hundreds of times—I’ll never like you! Get lost!"

The boy remained unmoved. "Even if you reject me a thousand times, I won’t give up."

"Then go die!" Coco’s delicate brows shot up. She kicked the panting fat dog ahead. "Rollroll, bite him if he follows!"

"Woof!" Rollroll perked up instantly. He barked fiercely, blocking the boy’s path with bared teeth, ready to pounce on that chubby butt.

Fear flickered on Huang Xiaopang’s face—he clearly remembered last time’s bite. He stumbled back to a safe distance. "Coco, I won’t give up! Even if Earth—" "Ahh!" Coco released the leash. Rollroll lunged. The boy toppled over, crawling away yelling, "Mommy, help!"

Coco watched him flee with disdain. She picked up Rollroll’s leash, walking back while muttering, "Hmph. I’ve got a Servant who likes me. I don’t need losers like you."

The onlookers dispersed. Boys recognized Coco and showed admiration—but seeing Rollroll’s shameless guard-dog face, they paled. The last confessor had been sat on the face by that dog… and soon transferred schools.

Coco led Rollroll out like a little queen patrolling her territory.

The dog-catching duo by the lamppost spotted them.

"What a pretty little loli," both gasped. Their eyes then locked on the shameless dog strutting ahead of Coco, chin held high like a general escorting a princess. Its tail wagged nonstop, drawing all attention.

Seeing Rollroll, Lü Xiaodao’s face turned green. His eyes reddened. Memories of humiliation in the Hero World and last night’s blow from his wife flooded back—a berserker rage exploding within him.

Xiao Zhang barely held him back. Otherwise, Lü Xiaodao might have charged in broad daylight. Tomorrow’s headlines would scream: "Perverted old man, driven mad by wife’s betrayal, attacks little loli publicly."

"Brother Dao, calm down! Wait for fewer people. Or the Awakened Association sends reinforcements—we’ll fail the mission and get brutalized by those Spartan enforcers!" Xiao Zhang pleaded.

The Awakened Association’s most feared unit was the Spartan Enforcement Team, led by the "Blazing Empress." Besides their sadistic captain, the members were hulking, muscular gay men. They handled crimes against women. Criminals suffered repeated "spear attacks" from Billy-like giants—enough to make listeners weep.

Whenever this team appeared, men instinctively clenched their legs tight.

Lü Xiaodao knew their reputation. His fury cooled instantly. Imagining that fate, his face paled. He gritted his teeth. "Fine. I’ll spare this mutt’s life… for now."

He shakily lifted the huge bundle. With Xiao Zhang, he melted into the crowd, tailing Coco to a quieter spot.

Rollroll swaggered on, occasionally winking at stray female dogs, utterly unaware of the two men lurking behind—ready to end his dog life.
