3. No Corner of the World Without Devote

Feng Ye’s headache came from most teams recruiting tank-type and support-type Awakened. A few sought attackers. After scrolling through two or three pages, he still couldn’t find any recruitment for controllers like him.

Just as Feng Ye frustratedly ran his hands through his hair, the chat section auto-refreshed. At the very top, a golden post was pinned.

“Any controller-type Awakened out there? Strength isn’t crucial. Just need someone who can control the field in critical moments and shout ‘666’.”

The sudden golden post made Feng Ye’s eyes light up. He clicked in casually. Though posted seconds ago, it already had many replies. The forum clearly had heavy traffic.

Feng Ye marveled at their typing speed. Silently, he reflected that since getting Stella, he’d neglected his “Qilin arm” training. He’d let his speed drills go to waste.

Of course, he only thought about practicing… He had no plans to restart.

“C-rank agile controller Awakened. Cleared three C-rank Overdeity missions with excellent ratings. Both my battle skills are control-type, rare-tier.”

“I’m a B-rank strong control master, certified by the Association. I hope to join your team.”

“…”

Posting a golden pinned message cost a fortune in forum coins. So when others saw it, they knew the poster had high status. Either a high-rank Awakened themselves, or from a powerful family.

No one would refuse to team up with such a person. It was a credibility guarantee. Far more reliable than empty talkers.

Feng Ye thought briefly and replied. After all, he’d searched everywhere for teams wanting controller Awakened. Now an opportunity appeared. He wasn’t about to miss it. Seeing the poster’s bold tone, he was happy to latch onto a strong ally. He’d enjoy a shameless, effortless win.

With that thought, he typed: “I have a 100% stun skill. Personally tested—no Beast or Awakened has ever been immune.”

Feng Ye’s reply dropped like a stone in water, causing ripples.

Soon, many under his reply began questioning his words’ truth.

“A 100% stun skill? The guy above must be dreaming.”

“‘No Beast immune’? OP probably hasn’t seen a D-rank Beast in his life.”

“…”

Most replies scoffed and mocked, refusing to believe him. They thought he was bluffing. But it was understandable. Stun was the most absolute control status. Even other control skills often failed. Let alone the ultimate stun. A same-rank stun skill with 50% success rate was rare-tier. Over 80%? Only possible with gold-tier ultra-rare skills.

So Feng Ye’s claim of 100% stun chance naturally drew heavy mockery.

Feng Ye knew his words would draw criticism. But he didn’t react further. He just waited for the poster’s decision. His D-rank status wasn’t enough to stand out. He needed hype to grab attention. He wasn’t worried about verification later. Because he wasn’t bluffing—he truly had that power.

Meanwhile, in a high-end residential area of Haven City, a little girl with twin-tails sat in her cartoon-themed bedroom. She swung her pale little legs, head tilted, staring at Feng Ye’s reply on screen.

“A 100% stun control skill? This guy really talks big.” Though young, she had deep insight into Awakened matters. She knew what 100% stun chance meant. Like others, she didn’t believe him. Tilting her head, she decided to check other replies.

But suddenly, her gaze paused. She noticed the account name of his reply.

“yefeng01?” She whispered it, pronouncing “Ye Feng” directly. Staring at the name, she froze, then exclaimed: “This guy snagged such an old account name? When I registered, numbers were in the tens of thousands…” She felt annoyed. But muttered: “Fine. Since you’re also a fan of the legendary Night Maple, I’ll give you a chance. Hope it’s not just hot air.”

As she muttered, she tapped the screen, sending Feng Ye a friend request. But got a notification: recipient hadn’t enabled friend requests.

The girl’s eyes widened. “This guy’s even more of a big shot than me?” This sparked greater interest. She even had a bold thought. But soon laughed it off as unrealistic. She thought: How could this guy be Night Maple? He was the world’s strongest attacker-type Awakened. The man standing at the peak of the Divine Realm.

She didn’t think she’d ever meet Night Maple here. Especially since she was recruiting controller-type Awakened.

Since forum PMs only worked between friends, and Feng Ye hadn’t enabled requests, she could only reluctantly reply under his comment.

Meanwhile, Feng Ye browsed for other controller recruitment posts. He wasn’t sure the poster would pick him.

Suddenly, he sneezed again. Rubbing his nose curiously, he wondered who was talking about him. Right after sneezing, a forum notification popped up. His reply had been answered by the poster.

“Add me as a friend.”

Though just four simple words, it exploded like a bomb, causing a huge stir in the thread.
