Body-swapping wasn’t supposed to happen between girls… Wait, no—technically, it was a former boy and a girl.
Moyu had seen plenty of manga and dramas about swapped protagonists, but never imagined it’d happen to her.
Memories of yesterday’s otherworldly adventure still felt vivid. After confirming she’d truly spent a day in another world, her life had veered off course. She even spaced out during class.
“What’s that girl up to now?”
Yuki watched Moyu stare blankly out the window, headache brewing. After this morning’s nonsense about “transmigrating,” Yuki wondered if she should drag her to a hospital. At least Moyu hadn’t slept through lectures today—that was something.
Lunchtime usually meant eating together. Though Yuki could join other friends, she stuck with Moyu out of concern.
Classmates had long stopped gawking.
“The class rep’s eating with that guy again.”
“Are they dating?”
“Ugh, so annoying~”
Moyu wasn’t unpopular—just friendless. Back when she was male, she’d avoided class events, earning the “weirdo guy” label by freshman year.
“Did something traumatize you lately?” Yuki asked casually, chewing her rice ball.
“Nope. Totally normal.”
“You’re hiding something.”
“N-no way, haha…”
“Look me in the eyes. Has someone discovered your girl identity? Who was it?” Yuki’s gaze turned icy.
“Yuki-san… what do you plan to do?” Moyu shivered under that terrifying aura.
“If it’s a guy, I’ll castrate him. If it’s a girl, I’ll eliminate her.”
“That’s horrifying!”
“So? Spill.”
“No one knows!” Moyu blurted out—better to avoid becoming a murder statistic.
“Shouldn’t you worry about your own situation? In their eyes, you’re a Psionic too.” Yuki’s words were a constant reminder: unwanted attention would find her.
Turning female overnight was unheard of. If malicious people learned of it, they’d drag her away as a “Psionic.” That’s why she hid the truth.
“You’ll protect me, right?” Moyu grinned.
“Optimistic much?”
“Your family’s famous! They’ll keep me safe.”
“You really trust me that much?” Yuki chuckled around her rice ball. *This brat’s shamelessly freeloading.*
“Hey, Yuki…”
“Hmm?”
“Can I copy your homework?”
“No.”
Her refusal was ice-cold.
Even with Yuki’s company at lunch, Moyu’s mind drifted to yesterday’s other world.
Why did she transmigrate? The only clue: she’d woken up there after sleeping.
*Maybe I’ll wake up there again tomorrow.*
She wasn’t stupid—she suspected a repeat. No solid proof, but no better theory either.
That night, after finishing homework, Moyu rushed to bed. But years of late-night habits kept her wide awake.
Frustrated, she grabbed pen and paper. This letter wasn’t for anyone else—it was for tomorrow’s “Moyu Manatsu.”
If she was right about swapping worlds again, her body would be occupied by Lunorette from the other side.
*Hello, Lunorette. I’m Moyu Manatsu. Nice to meet you.*
After writing, she idly texted Yuki on her phone… and drifted off just as the clock struck midnight.
—
Moyu opened her eyes. Silence. Then, ruby-red pupils sparkled.
“Incredible… I’m really back here.”
She brushed hair from her ear, voice trembling with joy. A radiant smile bloomed—curiosity about this world had never felt so alive.
Just as she’d hoped: she’d returned to the other world.
“Good morning, Luno-chan~!”
Seeing the elegant young lady again sent her heart racing. *Stay calm on the outside,* she reminded herself.
Sunlight flooded the room as she drew back the curtains. Below, girls laughed and played in the courtyard.
A note lay on the desk. She picked it up:
*To tomorrow’s me: I don’t know if you’ll be someone else, but if you see this—my name is Lunorette Orpheus. If you’re in my body, explain why I lost to Theos in combat training the day before yesterday.*
Moyu forced a dry laugh. *Trouble’s coming.*
But this world… this real, tangible wonderland thrilled her deeper than when she’d first stumbled into Yuki’s secret life a month ago. Pure euphoria.
She dashed out of the dorm before Caina finished washing up.
“Why’s she in such a hurry?” Caina frowned. *Yesterday too… Does she have a boyfriend now?*
Meanwhile, Moyu—in Lunorette’s body—sprinted across campus. To her shock, her legs didn’t tire. Back home, three minutes of running left her shattered.
“My body’s so light… like the wind!”
She flew over grassy fields, grinning at every building. This wasn’t a game—it was real.
*I actually made it to another world.*
She’d thought such things only happened in dreams.
Pausing under a giant tree, she soaked in the view. Joy swelled in her chest.
“ROAR!!”
…If only the dragon soaring overhead would ignore her.
The beast spotted her, halted mid-flight, and landed right beside her.
“!!!”
Moyu froze. *I’m dead!*
*Wouldn’t you panic with a dragon standing next to you?!* Her legs turned to jelly.
The dragon studied her fear, then settled under the tree with a lazy blink.
Moyu exhaled shakily. *It won’t hurt me… probably.*
“Lunorette.”
A red-haired girl slapped her shoulder. Sunlight caught her cheerful grin.
“What’re you doing? Showing off with your dragon again? So jealous~”
Moyu’s mind blanked. *Who is this?!* Then she remembered: she was Lunorette now.
“G-good morning…”
“Morning! You’re extra energetic today~” *Friendly. Must be Lunorette’s friend,* Moyu thought.
“Sifrena’s actually calm this early? Shocking.” The redhead eyed the twenty-meter-long dragon.
“Sifrena?” The name meant nothing to her.
“What’s with that look? She’s *your* dragon.” The redhead pointed at the beast. “Duh.”
“You… what?!” Moyu turned ghost-white.
“I said—you’re Sifrena’s master. Why that face?” The redhead frowned. “Did losing to Theos scramble your brain?”
*Holy crap.*
*This dragon is MINE?!*
*Well, Lunorette’s!*
No wonder it ignored humans.
But…
Staring at the massive creature, Moyu froze again.
*It’s female…*
*And named Sifrena? So girly…*
“Lunorette. We’re late. Let’s go.”
The red-haired girl reminded her.
"What?"
"We’re going to be late for class."
At her words, Moyu Manatsu remembered something important: she hadn’t had breakfast yet.
