Collapsed on the ground, I thought for a moment, then stood up, determined to join this war between women!
"The wind howls cold, the river runs icy!" Stella declared in a heroic tone.
"The brave warrior departs, never to return!" Luna echoed with the same fervor.
Veins bulged on my forehead. I decided to ignore these two weirdos and dashed to where Banas and Ling Ling had gone. I found a frozen wasteland.
My tiny courtyard—less than fifty square meters—was now an icy hellscape. Trees, animals, insects—all turned to ice sculptures. Only two figures remained: a petite golden-haired girl with white dragon horns, and a stunning light-blue-haired beauty with icy blue wings.
The golden-haired girl was encased in a thick white barrier. The blue-haired beauty’s eyes glowed icy blue! They glared fiercely at each other, their standoff like a lion and polar bear locked in combat.
"Stop, you—" I hadn’t finished when Ling Ling charged at Banas. She moved like a lightning bolt. Reaching Banas, she unleashed the high-tier ice magic: "Frost Phoenix!" A massive ice phoenix surged forward, tearing through the air with a sharp whoosh!
Just as Ling Ling struck, Banas’s barrier blocked the Frost Phoenix. The phoenix clawed relentlessly with icy talons. The barrier warped, cracked, and finally shattered. As the phoenix lunged for Banas, she unleashed a dragon roar!
A deafening tear ripped through the sky. Every ice sculpture shattered! Stella, Luna, and I clapped our hands over our ears. Ling Ling sealed hers with ice for protection.
Banas kept roaring. Trees exploded into splinters! Every window of the Lin house shattered!
Her roar faded as she tired. Seizing the chance, Ling Ling launched Ice Spikes. Thousands of icy spears flew at Banas.
Banas dodged frantically. The spikes slammed into the ground—and the Lin house walls. Ling Ling drew an ice-forged sword and thrust it at Banas. Banas didn’t dodge. She met the blade head-on!
The sword shattered on impact. Only Ling Ling knew how freakishly tough Banas’s body was. The recoil sent Ling Ling flying backward!
Ling Ling stabilized mid-air, clicked her tongue, and glared at Banas. "The White Dragon Clan is such a freakish race! But—"
She raised her hands. Wind and snow swirled around them. Seeing this, I screamed wildly, "Sis! Are you insane? Even if Banas survives this, our home won’t! That’s the high-tier combo technique: Blizzard! It’ll wipe out this tiny house!"
My voice snapped her out of it. "Fine. You’re lucky," she said. "I can’t destroy the love nest Yeer and I share. It’ll soon hold a bunch of little Yeers!"
Seeing Ling Ling back down, Banas lowered her guard too. "Right. Yeer-bro’s home and mine can’t be ruined."
Relief washed over me as they stopped fighting.
Wait—WAIT! MY HOUSE!
The Lin house was now riddled with holes, not a single spot intact.
Today’s wages were wasted. I sighed deeply.
"Alright, alright. Let’s just sleep. As for showers—the water heater’s broken anyway," I said.
It had apparently met a heroic end too.
