It was just after dusk when a deafening voice echoed through the hospital. A doctor stepped out of the ward, beaming: "Congratulations! It's a boy!"

An elderly father, overjoyed, pulled his three-year-old daughter inside. He excitedly told his wife, who had just given birth: "You've worked hard, Li'er!" She smiled back: "Our family has a new son. Come, Xiao Ling, meet your little brother."

Ling Ling peered at him. "He's so cute. Can I eat him?"

Dad chuckled warmly: "Hahaha, he's your brother! He's someone you'll cherish and protect—not food."

Ling Ling sighed in disappointment: "Ugh, what a hassle. I'm too lazy for my own chores. Let my brother handle everything."

"Haha," both parents laughed. Mom added gently: "Well, that depends on whether your brother agrees."

Dad mused: "He was born at dusk, when leaves fall. How about naming him Lin Ye?"

"So cliché," Mom said affectionately, "but if you like it, fine."

In elementary school, their parents left for a long trip to America, hoping Ling Ling would care for Lin Ye. But reality flipped: the lazy, withdrawn older sister dumped all chores on her seven-year-old brother. Lin Ye, naturally diligent, took everything on.

Then their parents vanished mysteriously in America. The two orphans were heartbroken, surviving only on leftover money. Ling Ling grew even lazier, bossing her younger brother relentlessly.

Things shifted in middle school. During a magic aptitude test, Lin Ye was the only F-rank mage. Ling Ling watched helplessly as crowds mocked him. Her silent nature kept her from comforting him—not even a kind word.

Ling Ling had entered middle school as an S-rank prodigy and the school's most beautiful goddess. People used this to humiliate Lin Ye, sneering that she wasn't his real sister but some random bastard. They even taunted him face-to-face.

Whenever Lin Ye snapped and fought back, he always got beaten down. Ling Ling, too timid to intervene, only treated his wounds daily in silence. Yet Lin Ye comforted her: "Don't worry about me, sis. Just live your life."

One day, Lin Ye called a classmate to the rooftop. Curious, Ling Ling followed. Just as she arrived, she heard: "I like you, Yang Qianlan. Will you go out with me?"

Hearing this, Ling Ling's heart ached faintly. Her mood plummeted for no clear reason.

Yang Qianlan sneered in utter disdain: "Huh? You? Did a few nice words make you fall for me? Hah! You're delusional! I was only kind because Young Master Ouyang likes gentle girls. It was all fake—you're just a tool. Don't flatter yourself, F-rank trash."

She stormed out without looking back. Lin Ye's heart-wrenching sobs followed. Ling Ling's tears fell silently as she ran away alone.

That evening, Lin Ye came home and asked: "What should we eat, sis? I'll buy it." Seeing him like this, Ling Ling burst into tears.

"Sis, why cry?" Lin Ye asked. She hugged him tightly, sobbing: "I'm sorry. I haven't been a good sister. I swear—I'll never let anyone hurt you again."

Lin Ye looked up, puzzled: "What's wrong? You're acting weird... but I'm glad. You've grown up too."

After a sleepless night, Ling Ling made three vows:

Her brother would never suffer harm—from anyone.

His wishes were her command.

He belonged only to her, and she to him.

And Thus, the Yandere Sister Was Born!
