15. A Frigid Slap of Reality Across Her

After hearing Lin Mengyao, Mu Yuli quickly turned her gaze to Jiang Fan. Her eyes signaled him to explain who this person was. But Jiang Fan just shook his head in confusion, utterly lost.

Was he even close to her?

Lin Mengyao saw that meaning in his eyes. Watching Jiang Fan act like a scumbag trying to ditch her after taking what he wanted, she instantly fumed.

This guy was rotten to the core!

But her anger soon cooled. His girlfriend stood right beside him—wasn’t this a perfect chance?

“Sis, I know I might seem weird,” Lin Mengyao said casually, as if it didn’t concern her. “I’m just the girl whose first kiss was stolen by the guy holding your arm. Nothing important.”

Outwardly calm, she secretly giggled inside. Especially when Mu Yuli narrowed her eyes at Jiang Fan—that sweet taste of revenge was intoxicating.

Scumbag, get ready for a slap!

Eager for the scene, Lin Mengyao added more fuel.

“Oh, and friendly tip, sis? Check your boyfriend’s phone contacts. There are some… strange numbers in there~”

“Wait, his phone model—I think it’s a Xiaomi 8? Or Xiaomi 9? Ugh, you’d know better anyway. After all, you’re his girl·friend·~”

Mu Yuli studied Jiang Fan with playful interest, a smirk on her lips.

“Oh? The iPhone I gave you—why aren’t you using it? Explain.”

She saw Lin Mengyao’s scheming, of course. She’d learned her identity from Chen Jing two nights ago. Playing along was just fun.

After all, they both wanted Jiang Fan humiliated.

“What iPhone? The bitten-apple one? No thanks. The charger design is gross, and mobile games don’t cross servers. My Xiaomi stays hotter than that—even at 50 degrees.”

Jiang Fan genuinely disliked iPhones. The price put him off. The charger annoyed him. Most importantly, his grinding progress on Android games would be useless on iOS. He hated leveling alts.

“I don’t care about your reasons. Since I gave it to you, you’ll use it. Got it?”

Mu Yuli was always bossy. Jiang Fan knew she meant it. He grimaced inwardly but nodded vaguely. He’d just carry it like a brick.

He never sweated small stuff like this.

Satisfied, Mu Yuli smiled and held out her clean palm. She tilted her chin.

“Hand me your phone. I’m curious about those ‘strange numbers’.”

Jiang Fan had nothing to hide. He handed it over confidently. His real treasures were safely tucked in hidden computer folders—Mu Yuli would never find them.

As he stayed calm, Lin Mengyao grew anxious watching from the side. Mu Yuli’s calm face made her uneasy.

Would he actually get away with this?

And she’d mentioned the stolen first kiss—why no reaction? Was his girlfriend that clueless?

Time ticked by. Jiang Fan hummed a tune, bored. He sang “Red Lotus Bow and Arrow” from Attack on Titan. He’d only watched the anime, not read the manga, so the bad ending didn’t bother him.

Lin Mengyao, meant to be the hunter, felt less sure seeing his ease. Could he really be innocent?

“Who are these people?” Mu Yuli pointed at specially noted contacts. The first few were formal—“Ms. Wang”, “Miss Su”. But the last one stood out: “Wife”. Her number wasn’t saved there.

“Who else? Work contacts. And the last one? That’s my waifu Seele calling. What about it?” Jiang Fan proudly outed himself as an otaku.

Mu Yuli tilted her head. “Seele? Who’s that?”

“This one.” He took back the phone, pulled up the wallpaper—a petite purple-haired girl holding a giant scythe. “Cute, right?”

“I see.” Mu Yuli nodded thoughtfully. Then she snatched the phone back. Right before his eyes, she deleted every app with cartoon icons: Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact, Arknights, Azur Lane—about eight games gone.

His carefully saved NSFW images vanished next. Years of Pixiv and Bilibili collections turned to dust. Jiang Fan could only watch, powerless.

Finally, Mu Yuli snapped a selfie with his phone—victory sign and all. She set it as both wallpaper and lock screen before handing it back.

“Only my photo on your wallpaper from now on. And clean your contacts—keep only mine. I’ll check next time. No tricks.”

Jiang Fan clutched his phone, heartbroken. He could redownload the games. But his NSFW stash was truly gone—years of hard-collected treasures!

“How could you do this… you demon!”

“You knew what I was like from the start. Fine. Since you’ve been mostly honest where it counts, I’ll let it slide. Come on, to the student council room.”

“No! Send me back to class! I need to study!”

Watching this bickering couple, Lin Mengyao stood frozen. Were they really just showing off for her?

“Huh? Still here?” Mu Yuli glanced at her. “Oh, right—you said he stole your first kiss? I knew that two days ago. Be more careful next time, girl. Stay proper. You can leave now. Don’t let the door hit you.”
