The moment I stepped into the second level of the tomb, I froze in shock. While the first level resembled a winding corridor, this was a vast circular hall. Its walls were honeycombed with countless alcoves crammed with stone coffins.

Human remains littered the floor—severed feet here, an eyeball dangling there. Brain matter and blood smeared every surface.

The culprit crouched in a corner, its back to us, crunching sounds filling the air as it gnawed. From behind, it looked like a naked, ghastly-pale meatball covered in centipede-like surgical scars.

It sensed our presence and slowly turned. Nina and I saw its full horror.

"Yaaah!"

"*Hrk—hrk—hrk!*"

Nina shrieked but stood firm under divine protection. I vomited on the spot. *Damn it. Should’ve blessed myself too. That thing’s hideous.*

Two meters tall and wide, the monster sprouted dozens of limbs. Its sunken face—a mask of eternal agony—sat atop a bloated body studded with dozens more screaming heads. Each twisted in torment, moaning:

"Help... me..."

"Hurts... so... much..."

"Dark... why so dark..."

"*Gah... gah...*"

*Sewn Horror.* An undead abomination that stitches victims’ heads onto its flesh. Their minds linger, trapped in agony.

The monstrosity rolled toward me like a grotesque boulder. I didn’t bother checking its stats. A flick of my wrist unleashed a 【Holy Light Spear】. Ash scattered where it stood.

"6..."

"Save the hype, Nina. Check for traps. The quest isn’t over." I cut her off. A lone Sewn Horror couldn’t spawn this many zombies and skeletons. Something else lurked here.

"Master! Over here!" Nina called moments later. I rushed to her side. She pointed at a stone slightly protruding from the wall—nearly invisible unless you knew where to look.

"Brilliant catch, Nina." I pressed the stone. With a grinding rumble, a hidden staircase yawned open. Sconces lined the steps, their flickering blue flames casting hellish shadows that made my spine crawl.

We descended the winding stairs into the tomb’s third level.

This was no tomb anymore. Black-purple vines crawled up the walls, blooming with ghostly white flowers. Strange symbols were carved across the floor. At the garden’s heart stood a slender man, his back to us. He clapped slowly, his voice dripping with mock praise.

"Bravo. Truly impressive. You defeated my Sewn Horror. Worthy of applause... Pity you’re far too late."
