Lin Feng was a teen with a strict routine. His alarm was set for seven, but he always woke up at six-thirty, bursting to pee.
Rubbing his eyes, he felt his bladder couldn’t hold another minute of sleep. Slowly, he sat up on the bed.
"6:28. Guess it’s ’cause I drank water late last night~"
Recalling the water Su Shui had poured for him, he crawled out of bed carefully. He feared a sudden move might make him leak.
"Everyone should still be asleep, right~"
Pushing the door open, he heard sounds from the kitchen.
"Could someone be up earlier than me?!" he thought, peering inside.
A short-haired girl in an apron wiped sweat from her brow under the morning sun.
Her rosy lips sampled the soup. A satisfied smile curved her lips, her eyes crinkling like crescent moons…
Lin Feng stood there, momentarily forgetting his bladder’s alarm.
Anyway, his bladder only needed to be one-fifth full to feel the urge. No rush—he could still hold it!
Lin Feng gazed at Su Qing’s profile. His heart raced, then suddenly slowed.
His face burned as if on fire, yet his eyes couldn’t look away.
Silently watching her, he froze when Su Qing turned her head. Their eyes met.
He quickly jerked his head away, pretending he hadn’t been staring.
He turned so hard he thought he heard his neck groan.
"Don’t be nervous, don’t be nervous!" he scolded himself. "Which foot do I step with first?"
After fidgeting a while, Lin Feng finally shuffled toward the bathroom.
"Lin Feng, come here~"
Hearing Su Qing call him, his first thought was, ‘Could she like me?!’
He shook his head, banishing the silly idea. They’d only known each other two days.
"I know it’s dumb, but I’m so nervous!"
Lin Feng stood stiffly, then awkwardly walked toward her.
"Why didn’t I chew gum in my room first?!" he panicked, worried about bad breath.
"I haven’t washed my hair! Is it messy like a bird’s nest?!"
Lost in these thoughts, he stood before Su Qing.
Looking at her, he wanted to confess right then.
"No, what if I scare her?! Better wait until we’re closer~"
"Lin Feng~" Su Qing called softly.
"Yes!" Lin Feng snapped to attention like in boot camp.
"Come taste this~"
Su Qing handed him a bowl of soup. Afraid to brush her small hands, he gripped only the rim.
"Th-this… you made this?!"
"Yeah, help me taste it~"
Tasting the soup, he was too nervous to register the flavor.
"What a virtuous girl~" he sighed inwardly. His affection for Su Qing skyrocketed.
"How is it?" Su Qing watched him.
"Delicious!" Lin Feng gave a thumbs-up. "Absolutely amazing!"
He had no clue what it tasted like. If Su Qing made it herself, he’d call arsenic in cold water delicious.
"Glad you like it~ Then, nothing else. Thanks~"
Su Qing thanked him and turned back to breakfast.
Lin Feng shuffled toward the bathroom, watching her busy in the kitchen.
"How wonderful to have a wife like her~"
Lin Feng, daydreaming online.
...
...
"Xiao Feng, come play too~"
Seeing Su Shui finally remember him, Lin Feng excitedly sat down.
After Su Shui taught him the basics, Lin Feng stole a glance at Su Qing. "I must show off my superb skills!"
But reality was cruel. Lin Feng was ruthlessly assigned by his sister to wash dishes.
"Xiao Feng, grassroots work is vital. So we unanimously decided—you wash the dishes!"
Lin Ning patted his shoulder, speaking earnestly.
"But I…" Lin Feng wanted to team up with Su Qing. Before he could speak, Su Qing blinked her big eyes.
"Xiao Feng, please~"
"She called me Xiao Feng!" he rejoiced inwardly, fighting a grin.
"No problem, leave it to me!" he promised, thumping his chest.
When the game started, Su Shui took charge. Lin Ning and Su Qing bustled around him.
In the kitchen corner, Lin Feng’s character stood alone, silently washing dishes.
"Why did I even join them?!"
...
...
Finally, the game ended. Lin Feng’s miserable dishwashing stint was over.
But seeing Lin Ning and Su Qing on the verge of a fight, he hesitated.
One side: his sister. The other: his goddess.
As Lin Feng moved to mediate, Su Shui dragged him under the TV cabinet.
Watching the battle from hiding, Lin Feng even craved popcorn.
"What’s this?" He pulled a cloth bag from above. Seeing Su Shui’s face, he knew it was secret savings again.
"This time, I’m taking a cut~"
Lin Feng’s mind raced with schemes. He didn’t expect his sister to arrive so fast.
"Confiscated!"
Watching the seized stash and Su Shui’s pale face, Lin Feng wisely hid aside.
"Please don’t come looking for me, brother-in-law~"
...
...
Dodging Su Shui’s chase, Lin Feng entered the living room. Su Qing wore a tiny apron, cleaning the "battlefield."
"Let me help you~" Lin Feng eagerly snatched the broom from her hands.
Su Qing looked at him, stunned.
"Thanks~"
Smiling sweetly, she sat on the sofa, mending stuffed toys torn by Lin Ning.
Watching his goddess’s smile, Lin Feng grinned foolishly, sweeping vigorously.
Seeing him, Su Qing thought, "He’s a good guy… but why so silly?"
"Oh, by the way!" Lin Feng tried chatting. "Su Shui’s secret savings got confiscated again~"
"That’s nothing new~" Su Qing continued mending, indifferent.
"Then he said he’d use it to buy clothes for his sister…"
As he finished, Su Qing whooshed out.
"Hehehe~" Lin Feng stood there, thrilled he’d talked to her.
...
...
After dinner, Lin Feng sat on the sofa with a cup of tea.
"Why do I like Su Qing out of nowhere?"
He pondered this unanswerable question.
"Need a hot water refill?" Su Qing walked by with a kettle.
"No, no need~" Lin Feng hurriedly stood.
As she passed, his eyes glued to her busy form.
"No, I must create a confession chance!" Lin Feng gritted his teeth. "Liking someone needs no reason! I believe in love at first sight!"
Watching Su Shui bullied by his sister, he clenched his fist and walked over.
"Brother-in-law! I need to talk to you!"
