Late at night, Lin Feng, exhausted from the day, had already fallen asleep in his room. But in the master bedroom, the night was just beginning.
"Heh heh, wifey~"
Lin Ning sat on the bed applying a face mask. Su Shui crawled over to her side with a sly grin.
Slowly, he placed his hand on her waist. Lin Ning shot him a glare but ignored him.
Seeing this, Su Shui grew bolder. His hand slid down slowly—just as he was about to succeed, a big pillow smacked him in the face.
"You pervert! What are you doing?!"
"I was just gonna massage your waist, help you relax~" Su Shui lied shamelessly, grinning.
"Hmph~" Lin Ning snorted coldly. "Every time you say that, when have I ever relaxed? You big creep!"
*Sigh, Su Shui, you’ve changed. You used to be such an easy-to-trick girl. Look at you now…*
Exposed, Su Shui flopped onto the bed, hugging his little pillow, ready to sleep.
"Who said you could sleep here?"
Lin Ning kicked him off the bed and snatched the pillow back.
Su Shui landed dazed, sitting on the floor in a daze for a long moment.
"What was that for?!"
"We’re divorced! What do you think it means, sleeping with me again? Are you harassing me?!"
As she spoke, Lin Ning grabbed her phone and pretended to dial 110 right in front of him.
Su Shui just watched, making no move to stop her.
Seeing he wouldn’t intervene, Lin Ning couldn’t actually call the police. She had to save face herself.
"Fine, I’ll give you one chance to reform!"
"Tch!"
Su Shui grabbed his small blanket, spread it on the floor, and settled under the bed.
"Don’t fall off tonight. If you do, that’s harassment!" Su Shui grinned mischievously. "And I can’t promise what I’ll do then~"
*Splat!*
Barefoot, Lin Ning stomped her foot right on Su Shui’s face.
She ground her foot against his cheek, looking down at him imperiously.
As a man of iron will, Su Shui couldn’t just let someone step on his face.
Like gnawing a pig’s trotter, he opened his mouth and bit hard on her foot.
"Damn it! Let go, you jerk!" Tears welled up in her eyes from the pain.
"No way!"
Lin Ning had had enough. She kicked him hard in the stomach with her other foot.
"Ah!"
Su Shui yelped in pain and loosened his grip. Lin Ning yanked her foot free.
She wiped her foot thoroughly with a tissue, then tightly wrapped Su Shui in the blanket and stuffed a towel into his mouth.
"I should wash my feet again~"
She brought over a basin of water, scrubbed her feet carefully with soap, but still felt uneasy.
Holding a bottle of disinfectant, she hesitated over whether to pour some in.
"Never mind~"
She carried the basin, soap, and disinfectant back to the bathroom. Dressed in pajamas, Lin Ning snuggled comfortably under the covers.
"Goodnight~"
The bedside nightlight clicked off, plunging the room into darkness.
In the quiet room, only Lin Ning’s soft breathing and Su Shui’s muffled struggles on the floor could be heard.
Lying on the familiar big bed, smelling its comforting scent, Lin Ning felt a wave of peace.
But the moment she closed her eyes, she pictured Su Shui on the cold floor.
"Hey… you can sleep up here if you want~"
Softening, Lin Ning allowed him onto the bed.
Su Shui was tied up on the floor, a towel still stuffed in his mouth.
Hearing her invitation, he wanted to climb up—but bound tight, he couldn’t move or speak.
*My lady, just untie me!* Su Shui thought helplessly, staring at the ceiling.
Lin Ning waited, but Su Shui didn’t appear.
*Has he really gotten tired of me? Would he rather sleep on the floor than with me?* Lin Ning tossed and turned. *No wonder he agreed to divorce so easily!*
The more she thought, the sadder she grew. Tears dripped onto her pillow, and soft sobs filled the silent room.
Hearing his wife cry, Su Shui writhed frantically on the floor, desperate to speak but unable to make a sound.
"Ugh… mmm…"
"You won’t even talk to me now?!" Lin Ning sat up crying, then spotted Su Shui wriggling like a giant worm on the floor.
"Pfft~" She remembered she’d tied him up and tossed him down. Her tears turned to laughter.
Seeing his wife smile in the moonlight, Su Shui finally relaxed and kept squirming.
Lin Ning got out of bed, barefoot, and crouched beside him.
Moonlight made her even more beautiful.
Su Shui gazed at her lovely face in the soft light, utterly entranced.
"Fool~"
Noticing his dazed stare, Lin Ning gently poked his head with her finger.
She pulled the towel from his mouth and tossed it aside.
"What are you staring at, dummy~"
"Uh… your underwear’s showing~"
*Slap!*
…
…
Su Shui sat on the bed, gently rubbing his slapped cheek.
Looking at Lin Ning beside him, he foolishly asked anyway:
"Wifey, why were you crying earlier~"
"What? I don’t understand. Who cried?" Lin Ning sat stiffly, avoiding his eyes.
"Don’t pretend~ I heard you. Did you miss me~"
Su Shui swayed slightly, leaning against her.
Lin Ning felt her face heat up, grateful it was dark so he couldn’t see.
"W-who misses you! I just sneezed and teared up!"
"Okay~" Su Shui didn’t push further, afraid of being kicked out again.
"Wifey, I’m sleepy. Let’s sleep!"
"Don’t call me that. And don’t cross this line!"
Lin Ning used the blanket to draw a clear boundary between them. Su Shui could only lie on his side.
"Wifey, scoot over a bit~"
"No! You move back!"
Lin Ning kicked at his leg. Su Shui trapped her leg between his own, rubbing gently.
"Tch~"
Unable to resist his shamelessness, Lin Ning slowly inched inward as he pulled her.
"Wifey, my mom wants grandkids. How about we… try harder…"
"Get lost!"
…
…
The night passed quietly. Unconsciously, Lin Ning ended up in Su Shui’s arms.
Feeling the warmth and familiar scent beside her, she slept deeply all night.
When she opened her eyes in the morning, a big face filled her view.
"Seriously…"
She snuggled deeper into his chest and kissed his cheek lightly.
"Dummy~"
