Chapter 45: The Calamity Witch Craves Kn
update icon Updated at 2026/1/14 13:00:02

Blood burst forth. Pain and a faint pleasure intertwined.

Xia Xin would never have imagined that she, a proud Blood Clan member, would be sucked dry by another.

Before her eyes, the Beast of Calamity bit hard into her neck. Blood flowed out, swallowed by the beast. Moments later, it smiled contentedly, then extended its tongue to gently lick the wound.

Hiss… so itchy… but… it feels so good…

Xia Xin’s body trembled slightly from the sensitive touch. She cried out, “Stop… stop it! Ah~”

Though deeply embarrassing—making her wish she could vanish into a hole—the effect was undeniable. Soon, the pain faded, and the wound began healing.

“Mas…ter…” The Beast of Calamity lowered her head, nuzzling Xia Xin’s chest… but finding the “steel plate” dull, she quickly shifted to rub against Xia Xin’s cheek.

Mmph… stop… don’t press… I can’t breathe…

How could Xia Xin have known such a tiny body held crushing weight? Her ribs felt ready to shatter… She adored white-haired lolis, but not enough to die for one!

Get up… off me now!

After a struggle, Xia Xin finally shoved the Beast off… Phew, a narrow escape.

Hadn’t her physique been enhanced? Why was she getting easier to pin down?

“Mas…ter…” The Beast lowered her head, excited like a pet, waiting for Xia Xin’s move.

“What is she…” Xia Xin paused. Though no pet owner, she guessed its thoughts… Treating it like a cute loli, she reached to pat its head.

The moment her hand touched the Beast’s head, a jolt surged through her. Faint voices echoed in her mind, conveying a message…

“Master… your hand… feels so good…”

A weak, childlike voice reached her. Xia Xin watched the Beast, utterly content… Was this voice truly hers?

So cute… wait, no—so weird.

Why could she hear this? Was it the glove’s power—one that sensed inner thoughts?

Seemed impressive.

Stroking the Beast’s head, Xia Xin asked, “Why suck my blood earlier?”

“That… is food…” The Beast’s voice echoed again. “I need… the Calamity Witch’s blood… master’s blood… to stay alive…”

Stay alive?

Its identity was “Ancient Demon Remnant.” Did that mean it would fade once its power drained?

“Mm… yes… master…”

Oh, so that’s it… Wait! Can you hear my inner thoughts too?

“Yes, master.” The Beast smiled faintly. “We… seem connected now.”

Her voice grew smoother, accustomed to this link.

Realizing her thoughts were exposed, Xia Xin flooded her mind with random noise—burying images of the Beast’s body… her beast ears… those pink little feet.

Abandon. Give up.

“Huh?” The Beast tilted her head, confused.

Calmly, Xia Xin asked, “How long does that blood last?”

“About three months, master.” The Beast replied. “But fighting drains energy. And… master, your blood tastes amazing. I want more…”

No way!

Keep this up, and she’d be drained dry!

A Blood Clan member drained by others? Ultimate disgrace! Absolutely… no!

“Whimper… I understand… master…” The Beast sounded dejected.

“We’ll see later.” Xia Xin smiled. “It’s just blood… I won’t let you fade. But—never harm them again. Understood?”

“Yes! I understand! Master!” The Beast nodded eagerly, then thought very “quietly,” “Mmph… that Demonfolk… charging with the Demon King’s wings…”

Xia Xin’s lips twitched.

She guessed Xila’s motive—revenge for her “dead” master. The Beast seemed unaware, or perhaps had no mind while sealed.

No use dwelling. It was over.

The Beast was now her obedient retainer. Xia Xin couldn’t scold further. Besides, she was fine, sitting here unharmed.

“Master…” The Beast looked up. “I’m tired. Can I rest?”

“Mm, of course.”

“And you, master?”

“I just woke up.” Xia Xin smiled. “You rest first.”

“Then master… um…”

“What is it?”

“Can… can I sleep on you?”

No way! Impossible!

Remembering the crushing weight, Xia Xin’s face paled. But she couldn’t refuse such obedience. “Ahem… how about I pat your head?”

“Yes! Master is the best!” The Beast leaped beside the bed, curling tail and fur into a ball, eyes closing.

Watching her sleep, Xia Xin smiled wryly, stroking her head. Then she pulled an item from her backpack.

More important tasks awaited.

Studying.

Xia Xin knew this world’s danger. Surviving meant more than just being the “Calamity Witch.”

Start with these basic spells!

The chants looked complex—but nothing harder than English!

Chanting felt embarrassing, but compared to her past life’s browsing history? Trivial.

While others slept or lay unconscious, she’d study hard…
