Chapter 21: Heed the Path of Discipline

"Holy crap! Why would Old Wang check homework today? He hasn’t done it in three years!"

Hao Ren stormed into the dorm, fuming.

"He hadn’t checked in three years, so the faculty probably talked to him about it," Meng Xianyong analyzed.

"Then he should check *everyone’s* work, not just spot-check!"

Meng Xianyong sighed, patting Hao Ren’s shoulder. "I know you’re pissed about being singled out. But don’t drag the whole class down with you."

"Damn it! All Zhou Ruiyang’s fault!"

"How’s this his fault?"

"He skipped class today! I sat in his seat—if he’d been here, Old Wang would’ve checked *his* homework! That guy can’t even disappear quietly!"

Hao Ren glared at Zhou Ruiyang’s bunk—then froze.

"Hold up… is Xiao Yang back?" He pointed. The blanket on Zhou’s bed was rumpled, a small foot peeking out from beneath it.

"Xiao Yang! You got me in deep trouble today!"

Hao Ren lunged forward and slapped the butt under the blanket—*hard*.

"Ahhh!"

A shriek echoed. Hao Ren and Meng Xianyong froze, staring at each other.

"That… sounded like a girl?"

"Yeah. Did my slap turn Xiao Yang into a girl? Stop faking it!" Hao Ren tiptoed, yanking the blanket.

The figure under the covers stayed silent, clutching the blanket tight.

The moment the dorm door opened, Mujin had channeled her inner warrior, leaping onto Zhou Ruiyang’s bunk via the desk. She’d hoped to hide under the covers—but as Hao Ren tugged, the blanket slipped away.

Finally, a head peeked out. "D-don’t pull my blanket…"

The two roommates on the floor gaped.

Where Zhou Ruiyang should’ve been lay a girl’s face—long chestnut hair, delicate features, flushed with shyness. Hao Ren and Meng Xianyong were instantly spellbound.

*So cute!*

They’d heard a girl’s voice but never imagined a *real* girl here. Their dorm strictly banned females—especially in beds. Only one explanation remained.

"Zhou Ruiyang! Did you turn into a girl overnight?! Quick, let your brothers get a feel—" *thwack!* Meng Xianyong smacked Hao Ren’s head.

"Idiot! That’s impossible!"

Meng cleared his throat, forcing a deep, smooth tone. "Uh… you’re Zhou Ruiyang’s girlfriend, right?"

"Y-yes. I’m his girlfriend." Mujin exhaled. *Thank goodness they didn’t recognize me.* Even though she knew she looked unrecognizable—even to her own mother—guilt still prickled.

"Tch. I thought my roommate turned into a girl. What a letdown. But seriously, Zhou Ruiyang’s such a jerk! Hiding a girlfriend from his brothers? Unforgivable!" Hao Ren fumed.

*Well… actually, one roommate* did *change. Just not Zhou Ruiyang. It’s me, Mujin!*

She bit back the thought. No way she’d say it aloud.

Hao Ren: "Why’re you sleeping in his bed? Get down before the dorm supervisor catches you."

"I can’t get down."

"Why not?"

"Because…" The girl bit her lip. "I’m not wearing clothes."

Mujin wasn’t shy—she hadn’t fully adjusted to her new body yet. She was just completing her System task:

【Leave the boys’ dorm without revealing your true identity or body. Success grants 1% progress.】

Though the Wish-Granting System required her to accept tasks, it sometimes dropped timely side quests like this. No penalties—just rewards. Optional bonuses.

"Huh? Naked?"

"Even my socks are gone."

Hao Ren’s jaw dropped. Staring at the girl’s flushed cheeks, his mind wandered under the blanket.

*Damn it! Zhou Ruiyang looks like a dork—how’d he score this?!*

"Can you grab clothes from Xiao Yang’s closet?"

Meng Xianyong frowned. "Where are yours?"

"He… tore them up!" Mujin said earnestly.

"HOLY CRAP! THAT BEAST!"

The two roommates clutched their chests in despair. Mujin almost laughed. Their dorm was all virgins—news of a roommate’s "romantic luck" would send them through the roof.

After much fussing, they handed her sweatpants and a hoodie.

"Need his underwear too?"

"Ew, no! These are fine." Mujin took the clothes, wriggled into them under the covers, then hopped down. She pulled the hoodie’s strings tight, tucking all her hair inside—full *Assassin’s Creed* mode. The oversized clothes hid her curves completely.

*No one’ll guess I’m a girl now.*

Ready, she slipped on her slippers, opened the door, and waved. "Thanks! Bye!"

"A-ah… bye."

They stood frozen long after her silhouette vanished.

"Lucky bastard, Zhou Ruiyang…"

At the stairwell, students shot Mujin puzzled glances. Her hooded, hands-in-pockets swagger screamed edgy teen.

(She had no choice—Zhou’s pants were huge. She had to grip the waistband. But constantly hiking them up would draw more attention. So she pretended to pose.)

On the first floor, she bypassed the main exit and headed for the back door. Though usually locked, Hao Ren—a lock-picking genius—had copied the key for late-night escapes. Mujin had swiped one on her way out.

Alone, she jammed the key into the lock. The door swung open—and Zhou Ruiyang barreled *in*, slamming his tall frame into her slight one. She crashed to the floor.

The hood fell off. Chestnut hair spilled like liquid across the tiles.

"Ow! Why’d this door just—?" Zhou Ruiyang grumbled, pushing himself up.

To rise, he needed leverage. By cruel fate, his hand landed exactly where it shouldn’t.

He froze. Tested the spot again. Clicked his tongue.

"Tsk… bro, you really need to work out. This is *soft*."
