With Divine Snow Sakura's help, Lyn smoothly escaped the Church-blockaded zone and immediately hailed a carriage for the return trip.
The streets were bustling with people. All the way, Xing Luo curiously pressed against the window, pulling back the curtain to gaze at everything outside. Having slept for too long in unknown darkness, the outside world felt entirely new and fascinating to her.
Yet despite her overflowing curiosity, Xing Luo stayed seated in Lyn's lap, as if reluctant to leave his embrace. When tired of watching, she'd curl up in his arms and gently sniff his scent.
Lyn noticed her little sniffing motions, which left him flustered. When he asked why, Xing Luo answered, "Master has a very nice, comforting scent. Xing Luo likes it very much."
Faced with her shining gaze, Lyn had no choice but to accept. She was simply too adorable; he couldn't bear to say anything that might hurt her.
After a bumpy ride past exotic, otherworldly buildings, a small castle appeared in the distance about half an hour later.
"Finally, we're here."
Lyn didn't live on Belmond Family territory. This was a large manor his sister had purchased after becoming independent.
The carriage stopped before the castle's massive, ornate iron gate—the true entrance. A crimson carpet stretched outward from there, exuding nobility and luxury.
"Young Master Lyn has returned."
As Lyn stepped down with Xing Luo, a servant quickly approached to lead the coachman away. Gardeners and other staff promptly noticed the girl by his side.
Xing Luo leaned against Lyn, still tightly wrapped in a tattered cloak. Though she had clothes from Divine Snow Sakura, changing outside wasn't convenient.
She looked like a huddled street urchin from some dark corner. Yet her sweet face and fair skin made her radiance impossible to ignore. Her tender skin and childish, lively beauty could drive any meticulously groomed noble lady mad with jealousy.
Xing Luo ignored the surprised stares. Curiously, she gazed up at the massive castle, then turned to a large pond nearby. Blue phosphorescent fish swam gracefully within, their movements like dreamlike gems.
Xing Luo agreed—but to her, they looked more like delicious gems.
"Is this Master's home?" she asked softly after a moment, turning to the boy beside her.
"That's right. From now on, this is your home too," Lyn replied softly, ruffling her soft hair. He then muttered under his breath, "That dangerous woman isn't here... so no trouble for now."
He called over a maid. "Prepare bathing supplies and plenty of food for this girl."
Back home, he couldn't bear to leave Xing Luo wrapped in that cloak. There was also a risk of exposure. It was fine if it happened in front of him, but Lyn didn't want others taking advantage.
