Chapter 13: Snow White or Sleeping Beaut

Tran marched triumphantly, waving his club as he approached the old chief. But as mentioned earlier, it wasn't just ordinary destructive dinosaurs appearing—there were also extremely rare dragons that had awakened Superpowers.

Just as Tran swung his club at a pterodactyl, a powerful sound wave struck him from the side, sending him flying. He regained his balance mid-air and spotted the attacker: a gigantic blue pterodactyl circling above, flanked by three fire-breathing dragons.

"Holy crap... Monster Hunter..." Tran had played that legacy game from a thousand years ago. It was fun but tough. Facing it now gave him an indescribable feeling.

He realized he couldn't proceed without taking down these dragons. Now he understood why the natives hoarded top-grade dragon breeds. Superpower-awakened dragons were terrifying. Ordinary dragons could charge him with a dino rush and barely hurt him. But that one sound wave breath left his whole body aching.

"How to handle flyers? Oh, right..." Tran slowly felt the gray energy within him. He'd unleashed a tornado before. What if he shaped it into wings?

As he dodged dragon assaults, he gathered gray energy behind his back.

"Such immense Destruction Force? Who is this boy?" Alex struggled against the dragon horde in the distance. His A-rank ability, Absolute Petrification, barely held them off. But he sensed an ominous aura from Tran—identical to that meteorite's power.

Simultaneously, the old chief controlling the dragons noticed Tran's change. Shocked, he decided to take Tran down first. This Destruction Force was precious... a great nourishment.

He commanded twenty awakened dragons to attack Tran. Fewer than a hundred existed total. Sending twenty showed how seriously he took this threat.

"Ugh, more?" Tran wiped a bead of sweat, staring at the colorful dinosaurs. They were horrifying. Their massive bodies used Superpowers like High-Speed Movement—even at human C-rank level, the effect was amplified.

Elemental attacks and binding assaults came next. Tran's World Annihilation neutralized them all, but he felt rare exhaustion creeping in.

"Ready. This is it. Come forth, my wings! I can fly!" Tran leaped upward with all his might. Gray energy erupted behind him, forming two massive, geyser-like wings.

"Come on! You've shot at me long enough. Get down here!" He surged toward the awakened dragons using wing thrust. Tran couldn't truly fly—the wings acted as thrusters. But this looked far cooler than a rocket launcher.

The fire and sound wave dragons sensed his fury and dodged. But Tran wasn't easy to avoid. He accelerated toward a fire dragon, shattering its high-temperature fireball with a club swing. The club melted as payment. Tran remained unharmed.

Weapon gone, he fought with fists. Like a superhero, he pummeled the flying dragons from all sides. They soon fell from exhaustion and wounds. Tran seized the chance to rush toward the old chief and Lia.

Suddenly, four mutated Velociraptors appeared in perfect formation. Tran dodged, but they anticipated his moves, unleashing attacks on his next position.

Worst of all, one Velociraptor sprouted blades across its body and spun toward him.

"This is bad..." Tran broke out in cold sweat, eyeing the sharp blades. His body could withstand it, but he really didn't want to collide with them.

The blade Velociraptor halted abruptly. A voice rang out.

"No!" Lia's eyes suddenly regained their luster. She shouted with all her might.

"Lia, what are you doing!" the old chief roared. His Superpower had slipped for a split second, but he regained control.

Tran wouldn't miss this chance. He unleashed World Annihilation and charged.

The old chief had no time to summon protectors. Tran moved swiftly before him.

"Ultimate Technique! Friendship Punch!" The old chief flew backward, his hand leaving Lia's head.

Losing support, Lia fell. Tran caught her. Without control, the dragon horde turned chaotic, attacks intensifying.

"Tran! Wake Lia! Or we'll all be trampled!" Alex's voice boomed through a megaphone. How he survived was a miracle.

Tran called to Lia, but she didn't respond. He recalled important figures... Snow White, Sleeping Beauty...

"I never thought my first kiss would be used like this. But for everyone's lives! I'll sacrifice myself!" Tran thought lewd yet self-righteous thoughts. Heaven clearly disapproved. Just as his face neared hers, Lia slowly opened her eyes.

"Tr-Tran brother, what are you doing?" Lia blushed, staring at his puckered lips.

Tran's face flushed red. He couldn't admit he planned mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

"Uh, nothing. Lia, stop the dragons now!" He changed the subject quickly.

"Oh... okay!" Lia closed her eyes, activating her Superpower. For a moment, Tran saw a goddess descending—she radiated a holy aura.

The frenzied dragons immediately ceased attacking Alex's group. They obediently gathered together.

"Done, Tran brother. I stopped them. Several kids said they want to eat you, haha. You're popular!" Lia said innocently.

"If only..." Tran sweated. "Lia, could you not occupy Earth? Another planet would work."

"Hmm? Since you asked, we'll find another place." She didn't want to take this long-lived home anyway.

"Great. Earth's forces couldn't withstand these monsters. Casualties would be severe." Tran sighed in relief. At least she listened.

"Oh, where's Grandpa?" Lia remembered his control.

"He's tired. Resting over there." Tran pointed to the unconscious old chief.

Lia rushed to check. He was merely knocked out—Tran knew his limits.

Lia dismissed the dragons and returned to the Observatory with Tran.

"Brother Tran, I admire you. Braving that dragon sea to take down the enemy leader!" Alex, wrapped like a mummy with a broken right arm, gave a left-handed thumbs-up. His men had suffered heavy casualties.

"Miss Lia, I apologize for deceiving you. We acted for our home's sake. Please forgive us," Alex added.

"It's fine. Our unexpected arrival caused this." Lia turned to Tran. "Brother, I'd love to stay and experience outside life. But a voice inside me demands a colony! I must return to outer space now."

"Outer space? The universe has many Earth colony planets, but they're small due to atmosphere issues." Tran gazed skyward. Above lay the vast cosmos.

"Not a problem for us. Inherited memories say we adapt easily. We'll find a planet soon." Lia clung to his arm.

"Alright. How will you travel?" Tran pictured the massive dragon herd. What ship could hold them?

"Don't worry. Our arrival meteorite is a spatial container. It's on this island."

"Yes, under our base. Without it as bait, the dragons wouldn't have come so docilely," Alex chimed in.

"Then I won't stop you. Be careful." Tran didn't want her to leave, but couldn't deny their new home.

"Haha, brother is funny! Can you come closer?" Lia's face flushed slightly.

"Huh? We're already together. Where else?"

"I mean..."

Instantly, something warm and soft touched Tran's face.
