The door creaked open slowly. A dimly lit room greeted me—not pitch dark, but dark enough that I decided to put my things down first before turning on the light.
I stepped inside but heard no movement. I glanced toward the inner rooms but saw nothing. Carrying the groceries, I walked into the kitchen and placed them on the table.
I returned to the living room and flipped the switch. Instantly, the room brightened as if it were daytime.
Hmm... Is Yuxuan not here? That’s odd. She should be here by now. Could she have gone out dressed like that?
A cold breeze swept past me from behind. Oh, I’d forgotten to close the door.
I turned and jogged back to shut it. Then I headed toward the inner rooms. As I opened my bedroom door, I spotted Yuxuan slumped over the keyboard.
I looked at her face and shook my head helplessly. Walking over, I heard the faintest snore.
So she was asleep. All that worry for nothing. I thought she’d run out to find me. Well, this is fine. Looks like she’s been glued to the computer all afternoon.
I scanned Yuxuan up and down, suddenly unsure how to carry her. After staring for a while, I still had no clue.
“Screw it, I’ll just pick her up.”
I slid one arm under her back and the other under her legs. Gently, I lifted her and carried her to my bed. I pulled a blanket from the closet; it felt slightly damp.
Hmm, I wonder if it’ll be sunny tomorrow. This blanket needs airing out.
Though my mind was on that, I still gently tucked it over Yuxuan.
I gazed at her slightly flushed cheeks and her adorable face turned to the side.
Actually, having a sister like this isn’t so bad...
I covered my mouth with my right hand and whispered, “Ouch, ouch...” Lifting my shirt, I saw I’d pinched my waist until it was bruised.
How could I have such thoughts? He’s my little brother, my brother! I must never see her as a girl, or it’ll ruin his life!
I kept warning myself inwardly, then walked to my computer... and accidentally brushed the mouse.
Buzzzz—
The cooler’s hum kicked in suddenly. So she hadn’t shut down the PC. I should turn it off first.
I’m not fancy, but I believe in saving resources. I always power down my computer when it’s not in use.
Lost in thought, I clicked the wrong thing. Carelessly, I turned the computer back on...
Uh... What the hell is this?
The desktop was cluttered with countless folders. A program was still running. The browser’s advanced options were wide open, with lines of code flying everywhere.
If you think I’m angry because my sister messed up my computer, you’re wrong.
It’s that she opened all my encrypted files. That running software was a decoder. All browser traces had been extracted...
What does this mean? Was Yuxuan checking my computer all afternoon?
I breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, I’d stored everything on my 168GB phone. At that moment, I was so glad I’d bought a good one.
