As Lisbeth’s words fell, a powerful aura erupted from her, shaking the silent Treasure Vault. Then, a burst of light exploded from the purple Magic Array beneath her feet, enveloping her completely.
“Hah!!”
The next second, with a mighty shout, Lisbeth shattered the surrounding light. Clad in leather armor and gripping a short dagger, she now stood in the Treasure Vault.
“Good. Looks like the Class Change succeeded.”
“L-Lisbeth, I didn’t expect it to actually work.”
After confirming Lisbeth was unharmed, Clothilde sighed in relief once her initial shock faded. “Alright, no time to waste. Lisbeth, get to work quickly.”
“No, it’s not over yet.”
“Eh?”
Just as Clothilde thought Lisbeth would break the seal, another Magic Array appeared beneath her feet. Lisbeth took a deep breath and slowly chanted, “Class Advancement ability, activate.”
“Hah!? Lisbeth, are you crazy? Class Changing here was reckless enough—now Class Advancement too?”
“Of course. With just a Rank 1 Thief, I’m not sure I can bypass the seal to rescue you. So, to be safe, I’ll advance my class right here.”
Class Advancement allows a class to evolve to a higher tier. Originally, the Hero could only choose from five base classes. But through advancement, each class evolves and gains higher abilities. Currently, each base class can be advanced twice, reaching up to Rank 3.
In this situation, Lisbeth felt a Rank 1 Thief couldn’t bypass the seal to retrieve Clothilde. Without hesitation, she chose Class Advancement. As her ability activated, the huge Magic Array beneath her feet suddenly compressed, converging under her.
“Class Advancement, Rank 2—Grand Thief!”
This time, no light enveloped Lisbeth. Instead, two long swords emerged from the Magic Array beneath her feet. As she grasped them, her leather armor shattered, replaced by a more agile long cloak.
“Good. Class Advancement worked too. Now, Clothilde, I’ll rescue you!”
“Understood!”
After saying this, Lisbeth’s right hand glowed with blinding light. The next second, it pierced through the stone bed, reaching deep inside.
“Got it!”
Soon, her hand touched Clothilde’s hilt. The sword, her trusted blade, trembled within the seal. Lisbeth pulled her out and held her up, exposing her to the air.
Gazing at the gleaming longsword radiating absolute presence, Lisbeth knew she had reclaimed the Holy Sword Clotilde—feared by all the Demon Clan.
“Alright, that’s enough. Clothilde, switch to Emblem Mode and cover my arm.”
“Mm, understood.”
As Clothilde spoke, she erupted with blinding light in Lisbeth’s hand. The next second, she melted away, vanishing into the air. She transformed into twinkling stardust, covering Lisbeth’s arm and forming an engraved emblem.
“Good. Now that you’re attached to me, we can communicate telepathically. No more troublesome magic chats.”
“Yeah~ And with me by your side, you’ll have more confidence, right? If you’re the strongest Hero of all time, then I’m the strongest Holy Sword!”
“Heh, of course. How could I manage without you, Little Sword? Alright, Little Sword, hide for now. If others see this emblem, it’ll be hard to explain.”
“Mm, got it~”
After Clothilde spoke, the emblem on Lisbeth’s arm vanished instantly. Having successfully rescued Clothilde, Lisbeth took a deep breath and said slowly, “Alright, it’s about time to hurry back to the cell. Now, we’ll see if the Grand Thief’s speed can keep up.”
