"Huh? What's so strange?"
Lu turned her head slightly in confusion after hearing Chixun's words, looking at her and asking.
"No, nothing... It's just that, logically speaking, a normal girl your age probably wouldn't wear this kind of... um, cute underwear," Chixun said slowly. She glanced at Lu, then at me with a trace of bewilderment.
"Lu likes cute things. That shouldn't be a problem, right?" I replied immediately.
Indeed, girls who looked Lu's age usually wore plain underwear—nothing like the lace sets she'd grabbed. But Lu wasn't actually young; as the Daughter of the Demon Emperor, she'd never worn simple clothes. She understood fashion well. So, I wasn't surprised when she picked those adorable yet troublesome lace pieces. Others might think differently, though.
"Well, whatever. Such a cute girl wearing these actually suits her," Chixun said with a soft laugh. She tilted her head slightly, studying Lu for a moment, then turned to browse another section for her own clothes.
Lu picked out underwear she liked. I took a few simple, unfussy sets—aside from the slightly risqué ones Lu had forced on me earlier. For outerwear, I chose plain, normal-looking items. Lu mostly selected skirts and loose casual wear; she disliked pants now and preferred comfort.
"Phew, finally done buying clothes," I sighed after over half an hour of shopping. Chixun, who'd finished earlier, had given Lu and me plenty of suggestions. I didn't mind much—wearable was wearable.
"Next, I need to buy daily necessities for Lu. There's a large supermarket right next door. Chixun, are you coming too?" I asked, hefting bags of clothes for both of us.
"Sure, sure!" Chixun chirped, holding her small bag. "My place needs a few things too. But a big supermarket nearby? I didn't spot one."
"At the other street corner," I replied.
Lu tugged my sleeve again, her eyes wide with curiosity. "Amelia, what's a supermarket?"
"I'll explain later... or you'll understand once we're there," I said with a smile. Lu nodded dazedly and fell silent.
