After letting Lu sleep for another two hours, I returned to my room and woke her up. We needed to buy clothes and daily necessities for her.
"Amelia, we're heading out shopping, right?"
Lu looked incredibly excited after I woke her. Her face full of anticipation, she said to me.
"Didn't I just say? We need clothes and daily items for you, Lu."
I watched her hurriedly tidy her appearance and replied slowly.
"Remember this: once outside, Lu, don't speak randomly—it'll raise suspicion. Stick close to me. If anyone asks questions, wait for my answer first, then respond as needed. Understood?"
"Got it, Amelia! I'm not a clueless kid anymore!"
Hearing me, Lu grinned slightly, flashing a cute expression before replying.
"Then let's go."
Seeing Lu ready, I nodded slightly and spoke. She followed me out the door immediately.
"Wow, is this an elevator?"
Right after stepping inside, Lu couldn't help but exclaim.
"I've never seen such a beautiful elevator... This world's industrial tech really surpasses ours!"
"Hehe, don't rush to marvel. More surprises await you later."
I smiled slightly, patting her head. Curiosity instantly filled Lu's face.
The elevator took us quickly downstairs. As I led her onto the bustling street, her astonishment deepened.
"Th-this is a car?"
Lu gasped in shock.
"So many... moving so fast... and actually common for civilians!?"
She widened her eyes, utterly dumbfounded.
As I've mentioned, Amelia and Lu's original world blended magic and limited technology. It hadn't reached our level—though transport trucks and floating airships existed. Most vehicles were military trucks. Civilians rarely owned any; private cars were nobles' luxuries.
So when Lu saw the endless traffic, she froze in place. Clearly, despite my warnings, the tech here exceeded her wildest imagination.
"Truly... incredible, this world's humans."
After standing still for a moment, Lu murmured softly.
"Alright, didn't I prep you earlier? Stay calm."
I glanced at her, patted her shoulder, and spoke. The touch snapped her back instantly.
But immediately, her expression turned serious.
