"Want to play with me? Don't blame my tails for being merciless~"

The battle began as the little fox let out an enchanting, soul-stirring voice. That sound, tingling deep in my bones, made it hard to focus.

I gripped my sword tighter, veins bulging on my arms. I blocked out that captivating voice and struck first to shatter the calm.

Step forward! Sword slash!

This strike wasn’t aimed at the distant little fox. Instead, I slashed along the gentle breeze beside me. That seemingly useless cut unleashed violent winds across the battlefield. Gale-force gusts swirled around me, my sleeves flapping wildly. The terrifying aura made the Nine-Tailed Fox Spirit ahead flinch slightly. Her slender waist bent a little as she watched me warily, all nine tails raised, ready to strike.

Hah!

Forward Slash!

After a loud shout, I rode the swift wind, stepping on enemy soldiers’ and officers’ heads to close the distance. Every foe I crushed was shredded by the fierce winds under my feet. With chaotic wind blades gathered beneath me, I stomped down without hesitation right before her.

But the little fox didn’t dodge. After a dreamy chuckle, her eyes glowed with deep blue light. Deep blue flames ignited on her nine pure white tails. As I neared, those flames flew toward me like living things.

"We’re in sync. Aren’t we?"

"Just don’t bother attacking. I’ll win anyway."

Hehehe, I saw through your defensive trick, little fox. I forced my foot to stop mid-stomp and swung my sword horizontally at the incoming blue flames.

Air Barrier!

The air ahead formed a pressure wall. The cold flames veered off, crashing into nearby grass. That patch—and the soil beneath—vanished in ashes, proving their power. But strength means nothing if it never lands.

"You blocked my foxfire? Hehehe, let’s find real fun!"

That horizontal slash looked casual but drained my stamina. My chest heaved harder than before. Her words nagged at me. I forced a breath, gathered swift winds under my feet again, and swung fiercely toward the little fox!

Instantly, a tornado erupted from where my "Zhanfeng" pointed. Soldiers along its path flew into the air. Even the Nine-Tailed Fox Spirit couldn’t resist this slash head-on.

"Want to kill me? Come try." I sighed slightly.

I planted my sword in the ground, watching quietly as the gale swallowed my enemy. A faint smile curled on my lips. Victory would be mine.

But this foe wasn’t so simple. As the winds neared her, the Nine-Tailed figure in my sight faded and vanished. I realized too late—I sprang up and unleashed a Steel Flash Cut behind me.

...

"Please adore me~"

That seductive whisper in my ear made me inwardly groan. I’d expected her Soul Assault to dodge my gale, but not her speed. My turning slash barely grazed her. Her Deceitful Orb and Soul Fire struck me instead, blasting me backward over ten meters in a messy tumble.

"This ends here, Mumu."

The little fox didn’t pause. Knowing my threat, she gave no quarter. She activated Soul Assault’s second stage instantly, leaving an afterimage as she caught up to me mid-air.

"You know, Ying," I forced a smile at her arrogance, "villains die from talking too much."

"I think you talk the most!"

Her tails reignited with that familiar deep blue foxfire. A direct hit would end me. But would I die so easily? Ridiculous.

"Final strike: Triple Assault Flaming Orb. Goodbye, Mumu."

From the corner of my eye, I saw the flaming orb coming. I turned away from her, reversed my grip on "Zhanfeng," and spun in the air using the wind from my fall. A small tornado shot toward the little fox.

How fast is wind? Uh... I don’t know. But it’s way faster than her orb.

"Time for a sky trip!"

The whirlwind slash hurled the little fox high up. She still smiled—this damage was bearable. Meanwhile, her orb pierced the gale, about to smash into me. She thought she’d already won.

But now, it’s kill or be killed.

Gale Extinction Slash!

I felt the orb’s heat on my skin. A hit would end me. But the last laugh is mine.

Where wind blows, I rule. My figure vanished before her orb. Appearing behind her as terror flashed in her eyes, I drew my katana and slashed her airborne form six times.

Amid the Nine-Tailed Fox Spirit’s haunting scream, the gale faded. This battle was over.
